I would give zero star if possible.
We purchased a brand new Kia Sportage in December, we chose Kia for the 7 year warranty... we've travelled less that 3,000 miles and it has broken down 3 times.
It was in the garage for 6 weeks, returned to us and broke down again just 2 days later and was in the garage for another 2 weeks.
The service was dreadful and we eventually asked for our money back or a replacement car.
Peter Cooper confirmed they would replace our car. They gave us the option of the new GT model or a replacement of our current 'Shadow' model, they showed us the GT option and we decided to stick with a replacement 'Shadow'. They confirmed all the extras we had purchased would be transferred to our replacement car and they would sort out all the paperwork. They said it would take a couple of weeks, 'weeks not months' was their actual words. We had also told them that we were struggling with the courtesy car as it was too low and they said we could have our original car (which was repaired again) back to use as a courtesy car until our replacement car arrived.
Nothing about our visit to the show room and the courtesy car discussion prepared us to their call 9 days later advising that 'Kia Care' would not support the replacement. When questioned they admitted it was their (Peter Coopers) decision and not Kia Care.
Their dishonesty astounds me.
We are now left with a car that we don't feel safe in and a garage we no longer trust.
Thank you for your response Alice but I’ve already spoken with your Brand Manager who told me that the car option discussion was just in case Kia supported the car replacement but when questioned admitted it was their decision and not Kia’s.
As I said, their dishonesty astounds me.

I’ve never experienced such poor service from a dealership. The team at VW Chichester clearly has no regard for customer satisfaction or basic communication. I had to chase them repeatedly for nearly four weeks to get a refund on a deposit — something that should have been handled quickly and professionally.
The lack of accountability and urgency was shocking. No one took ownership of the issue, and the sales manager was completely clueless and unhelpful throughout. It honestly felt like they just didn’t care.
This is my local branch, but I’ll never step foot in that showroom again. I’d much rather take my business to VW Southampton or Portsmouth, where I’d hope to deal with people who actually value their customers.
Avoid this place at all costs — completely unprofessional and a waste of time.

If I could give less than 1 star I would.
Peter Cooper Hedge End, what a surprisingly terrible company. VW Golf broke down on motorway & was towed there for repair. I was informed on arrival there would be a diagnostic fee of £125 to find out what the problem was. They had the car for a week & had to replace an injector. Nice hefty bill then. Got the car back but only after driving with a passenger, I found out there was a leak on the newly installed injector due to the smell of diesel on that side of the cabin. Sure enough, bonnet up & there it was.
Contacted PC & again was told there would be a diagnostic fee £125, but in the absolutely unbelievable case that it was their fault, I would not be charged..
They have the car for another week, investigate, amazingly find no leak although there’s a puddle of diesel sitting round the new injector, BUT don’t charge me anything - Their fault then?
What they give me is a vehicle health check report stating amongst other things, that the wing mirror indicator isn’t working. It was working when I took the car in but now it’s not.
I buy a new Indicator cluster from Amazon, fit it, & it STILL doesn’t work.
I phone PC again, oh we’ll take a look but don’t forget there’s that diagnostic fee of £125.
By this time I am totally pi$$ed off with PC & take the car to Autotechnix. They tell me the indicator isn’t working due to incorrect coding on the door module.
I make a complaint as per their website & get a reply saying they never worked on the indicator meaning any problem already existed, effectively calling me a liar. Coding can only be changed by a garage with the tools to do it. Why would I arrange to nobble my indicator?
The technician’s name was the same on both occasions, he needs to go back to school, unless he is of course doing what the company tells him to do. That is, sabotaging cars to make more money.
I am out of pocket nearly £100 & have opened a case with the Motoring Ombudsman. Unfortunately I do not see that amounting to anything anytime soon. In the meantime I will not be returning to any Peter Cooper garage & spreading the word wherever I can.
The reviews on Trustpilot are very revealing in that PC do not seem to care about their rubbish reputation & will not be taking any steps to improve.
EDITED following Peter Cooper’s lame & irrelevant reply -
My problem is that on 2 occasions of taking the car in for repair, it has been returned to me with a fault that didn’t exist beforehand & can only have been caused by their poor workmanship.
I am out of pocket because I took the car elsewhere, this is because I do not trust Peter Cooper to do a proper job or admit liability when they don’t.

Having been sold used and approved car with an extended warranty they don't want anything to do with the customer if the car starts falling apart in the first year. No willingness to even check with the insurance company whether the part is covered.
Awful - don't touch them with a barge pole

Fantastic Service at Peter Cooper Volkswagen Hedge End
I recently purchased a car from Peter Cooper Volkswagen in Hedge End, and I couldn’t be happier with the experience. Kevin Mathewson provided outstanding service from start to finish—friendly, professional, and genuinely helpful. He made the whole process smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend both Kevin and the dealership!

Car went into Peter Coopers All makes site in Bognor Regis. Taken through 2 mots just to fail both times despite work done by the garage. Was not kept updated through the process and billed £567 to be given back a car in worse condition than when I dropped it off. Advised a new turbo was required at over £2000.
Took for a second opinion water pump replaced and vehicle fixed for £300.
Baffles, car is a VW, Peter Coopers supposedly VW specialists - why can’t they diagnose their own VW cars?
Approached Peter Coopers was told I’d receive an email from Jason - never came

Better experience this time, picking up my Nephew's Polo that was in for a service..visited a lunchtime when there are understandably less staff on,served by Melissa who was helpful and explained what had been done and anything that may have been needed,I am an engineer so do not take any bull from 'service advisors',the clue is in the name,a lot of them think that they are sales people upselling the amber work to gain hours...no sneaky attempt this time. The car was cleaned and driven round the front so no complaints there, enquired about some accessories that I may get him for his birthday and the parts guys as ever were helpful, polite and knowledgeable offering to get them within 48 hours.I was ready to be stunned, although driving out there were once again staff members hanging around the front gate puffing away,at least one that had been there for the duration of my visit.I can see people are entitled to smoke breaks,as my own staff are,but this is in full view of anybody visiting.I expect that at my local bookie's or bingo hall or maybe Assad's motors, but this is a high end car dealership.Whilst in the area we popped over to their Kia dealership as my wife is on the look out for one and found them pleasant to deal with, they certainly have a good product range, the only gripe would be lack of parking but then they are a small dealership. With many dealers closing due to online sales and often woeful salesman I would say Peter Cooper are on the right track judging by my visit,I may even look at the xpeng at West End which looks a lot of car for 40K..see if it tempts me from my 7 series when forced to go electric......

Wow!…I tried three times to get a video of a T roc I was looking at, when they did send over a video it was of car not asked for, and the sales man going on about speck not what I asked for, I want to see the condition of the car I was looking at.
Glad I didn’t bother any further!..

Picked up new car today, some "paperwork" to sort out with multiple cups of tea from reception (sorry I can't remember your name). Time generous handover from Phillip with everything explained. Felt very well looked after and management (Karim I think) support seemed to be in place. Very happy to leave a 5* review.

I was really looking forward to purchasing my first car, but my experience with Peter Cooper Chichester has been utterly disappointing.
First, my collection date was delayed by an extra week without proper communication. When I finally collected the car, the agreed upon rust repair had not been properly addressed instead, the salesman just hastily painted over it on the day. The car hadn’t been properly valeted either; they simply sprayed autoglym over the dirt, and marks from the removed mud guards were still visible.
To make matters worse, the spare wheel was missing, and the mud guards (which I’d asked to be left in the boot) weren’t there. Despite promises to deliver them, I’ve been waiting over four weeks with no resolution. Now, the sales manager is ignoring me.
Additionally, I wasn’t shown how to set up the VW Service App, leaving me to figure it out myself which I still can’t use.
For a supposedly reputable dealer, this level of service is unacceptable. What should have been an exciting milestone buying my first car has been completely ruined by their incompetence and lack of care. I would not recommend Peter Cooper Chichester to anyone.
Update: I have forwarded the email I sent to Jonathan Bell ( Sales Manager) as he blatantly ignored me to Richard Vandenberg on 13th May and have not yet received a reply!!
I had to contact Peter Cooper on 15th May as now I am now having a problem with the worn out clutch!

On a recent visit to view a used Kia Stinger I was met by an excellent sales manager Lewis Worthington .
Lewis was highly knowledgeable , polite and very helpful with all aspects of the car and the buying process .
It was so nice not to feel over pressured in the showroom.
When out for a test driving Lewis drove this high performance car in a considerate, mature and professional manner which I thought was very impressive.
An excellent visit and service.

I have been a Kia customer for several years now, and once again they were able to find a deal that worked for myself and my circumstances. They were helpful and friendly throughout. I am extremely pleased with my latest Kia, and I'd like to thank Lewis Worthington for all his help and patience.

NO WORDS. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS BRANCH. The complete and utter lack of respect from everyone at this dealership toward a disabled person is most upsetting. I travelled 640 mile round journey for a VW vehicle on their Approved Used programme in good faith that the car would be in good working condition/order - how wrong was I.
I complained of several problems the same day after my 6 hour journey home and have been ignored ever since. Tracking, windscreen wipers not working, outside temperature sensor faulty, rattling steering column, low vibration when driving in low gears, scratched glass to name only a few. And if you think the 130 point checks are carried out you are wrong! I've had absolutely no proof that this was ever carried out - and based on the above which all form part of it, I can be confident that it was never done. They can't even show me proof. I call this false advertising.
Nobody from Sales, Aftersales or management have ever tried to contact me to try and resolve my complaints and I have been lied to every step of the way. John, Graeme and the aftersales/service team have let me down and let their Group down. In hindsight I am glad I had to travel 6400 miles for my vehicle as at least I won't ever have to deal with them again and just go through my local VW dealership.
Peter Cooper you should be embarrassed at what outfit you are running down here. Professional, Excellence, Trustworthy, Everyone, Respectful is your supposed Mission. It couldn't be further from the truth.

We would like to feedback our happy experience at Peter Cooper VW in Portsmouth yesterday. The reception given by new recruit, Red, was warm, friendly and efficient. Then we were handed over to Lucie in sales, who was a great mixture of talents-knowledgeable, friendly and she listened to exactly to what we were looking for.
She went to a lot of trouble, even though we were in the early stages of looking around and trying out interior space. She knew there would be no sale today.
It was nice to have a confident woman in car sales-I sometimes feel some male sales staff (at other places) can come across as pushy and superior.
Although we live 90 minutes away, we would seriously consider returning as the service made us feel so comfortable. Thankyou Lucie

Traveled from Glasgow to Hedge branch Southampton to collect a VW approved used vehicle. I arrived before 12pm and did not leave until after 4pm to start my journey back to Glasgow because the vehicle was not up to standard on what should have been a quick turnaround. Vehicle had staining on both front seats algae on bodywork, loose fitting rear bumper that had popped from its fitting to the chassis. It also had scored pitted and weakened back discs with pads that were between 70-80% of worn, the car was also to have had fresh MOT on it also but didn't. So I was stuck in Southampton until work was carried out. During this time I had a sales manager "LIE" and invent a role of head technician for another staff member to say that the car was in an acceptable condition brakes etc only for him to be caught out. I was also approached by the Brand manager Zak long who was a delight! He was condescending antagonistic and arrogant and to top it off when he thought he was out of site I could quite clearly see him making mocking hand gestures aimed at myself and partner which was quite upsetting as we were already felt very let down by lack of standards and basic values shown since arriving. In the end all work was carried out brakes body work and the mot test done last and then i acknowledged the car to be safe and then accepted it a s VW approved used car standard. I did however contact Peter cooper customer services and made a complaint after leaving the branch to go into detail of my experience, invented job roles delightful brand manager hand gestures etc. Response from complaint was very weak with admission of training issues being one. Mr Darren Cooper if you are reading this i want to point out the standard within you're organisation is the worst I've ever experienced and I would hope you personally investigate what went wrong especially with the behaviour of 2 senior staff members representing you and you're company. I should like to put on record how good my experience was when I bought a Kia car from Peter Cooper at Hedge end. In the first instance I put a reserve on it although an image was not yet available. Within 10 minutes I had a call from Lewis Worthington who then went out of his way to video the car and forward me the video. As a result I made an appointment to view within a couple of days and Lewis showed me the ins and outs and I had a test drive. At all times he was very friendly and knowledgeable about the car. I agreed to purchase the car and he dealt with all the necessary paperwork. Having paid by bank transfer he kindly acknowledged receipt.
I was also very impressed by the showroom and the staff working there as they were all in uniform which is something one rarely sees in car showrooms.

Visited Peter Coopers at Hedge End as a potential customer in purchasing a new Tiguan. Salesperson was very uninterested, we stood at his desk and asked some questions. We were not invited to sit, he did not engage with us - only turned his tablet round to show us the vehicle on his screen. We walked away not wishing to return to Peter Coopers or purchase a vehicle from them
