We have had triple glazing installed by Piper Windows and did encounter a couple of hitches and I think it is most important to know that a company will deal with such issues swiftly and efficiently and therefore I am happy to recommend Pipers. We are delighted with the windows and their cleaning up was brilliant.

Piper windows did an amazing job on my extremely large patio doors. They look beautiful and have already been admired by all who have seen them. Good quality product, friendly staff. Highly recommended local company. Many Thanks

Today's date is 15 April 2025. On 29 August 2024 I received a quotation to replace 2 x blown units and to repair the locking mechanism on two other windows, not installed by them. I accepted the quotation and the woman on the phone said she'd call on 30 August or 1 September at the latest with a fitting appointment. I am STILL awaiting that call. I have since had the works completed to my full satisfaction for a massive 63% less cost. I am delighted that Pipers are so inefficient and saved me £135.

We chose Piper as a result of a very bad experience a couple of years earlier with another Skegness double glazing company. On that occasion the other company were employed to fit upvc windows to a summer house which I had built for my wife's recuperation from chemotherapy. We had to decline use of our toilet as my wife's oncologist had cautioned against allowing anyone indoors, being immunosuppressed meant any transmitted infection could prove fatal. They weren't happy with my explanation despite being treated with courtesy and being made cups of tea. After they left, I found I couldn't re-hang the blinds as they had taken the fittings with them, when I rang the company the manager was very rude and refused to get them to return the fittings.

It was for this reason and having heard good reports of Piper that we chose them to design and fit our porch extension. The work was begun in bitterly cold weather, so seeing them take shelter in their van I lent my fan heater along with hot tea. The finished job was of a very high standard and we are delighted with it. Remarkably however, the use of our toilet once again became an issue.

Some time had elapsed since my wife's chemo, so as the Piper employees all seemed perfectly civilised she decided to allow use of our toilet if requested, therefore when their assistant fitter asked to use it we were glad to agree. However, moments later I went to use our toilet and was struck by an unpleasant smell, the toilet lid had been left open and the bowl contained several streaks of excrement, furthermore the bar of soap and the sink were bone dry. I approached the culprit and asked him why he didn't use the toilet brush, to which he replied and I quote “Oh did I poo everywhere”. Unbeknownst to me, my dear wife upon hearing my words had begun cleaning up his mess and disinfecting the toilet seat and the door handles. Thereafter I ordered and fitted a new toilet seat as I was sickened at the thought that someone like this had entered, let alone used our toilet.

Prior to retirement I had been a service engineer for over four decades and had used customers toilets hundreds of times, the universally accepted rule being to never use a customers toilet for “number two's”. After the job was complete and the fitters left, I remembered that my Ring camera faces our front door and would have recorded my remonstration. Upon playing back the recording, it showed the fitter looking blankly as I spoke, then as I shut the door a big grin spread across his face. It is this disgusting reaction, occurring simultaneously with my far from healthy wife cleaning up his filth, that determined me to make this review.

Regrettably we have agreed that future tradesmen, whatever their company, will be told in advance that our toilet is out of bounds, citing this experience as the reason. This is very sad because the overwhelming majority of people treat our facilities with respect, but we are not prepared to risk such a revolting experience again.

In conclusion, I highly recommend Piper in view of the outstanding quality of their work, however I suggest you advise them that your facilities are out of bounds unless you want your toilet to resemble that of a motorway service station.
