Charged pensioners over 800 pound for a job that was shabby and not completed. Spoke to some one in the trade and was told no more than 200 pound, absolute cowboys, will be contacting trading standards

They charge a ridiculous amount. They said they fixed my toilet which then started leaking again after a few hours the plumbers who came out refused to come back to fix the toilet and the company refused to give me a refund

Avoid avoid avoid. Would be no stars if possible. We had an emergency with a leaking washing machine with the water flooding the kitchen last Sunday. Was told the plumber was 5 mins away, he eventually arrived 40 mins later. Was on the property for all of 29 minutes. Turned the water off, isolated the washing machine and turned the water back on. Only after this was I told it would be (drum roll please) £580 !!!! (Was well aware of £80 call out fee) but £500 for 29 minutes work?! That’s an hourly rate of £1,200.00. I’ve been advised this is very much over inflated from the industry standards. Not to mention the fact that the next morning the leak was STILL going and we had to contact another plumber for a much more reasonable price to come and fix the same leak. I have emailed to try and resolve this without going public but to no avail.
Pronto plumbers? Nothing pronto about 40 minute emergency wait. Nothing really plumber-y about only semi fixing a leak and it needing done again.

Avoid, Avoid, Avoid.
My OAP mother had Pronto Plumbers on an emergency call out as she had a leak, as it transpired in her upstairs bathroom.
Pronto plumbers attended within very short notice and investigated the leak, removing one floor board in front of her upstairs radiator (which had been recently removed to replace the radiator therefore simply screwed loose) and removed the bath panel where the Pronto Plumber found the bath tap dripping and subsequently repaired the leak. In all the plumber took one and a half hours to complete and charged my mother over £1800 for the pleasure. She is retired and on a state pension and was in a stressful state with the leak as expected but felt very intimidated by the plumber. To say I am disgusted with Pronto Plumbers would be an understatement. It would appear with the multiple reviews of the same nature this company should be avoided.

Avoid this company at all costs. I called Pronto Plumbers for an out-of-hours emergency leak. The engineer did zero repair work and used no parts. All he did was use a standard pair of pliers to turn off my stopcock.
They charged me an astronomical £650 for this. I only paid because my house was flooding and I was in a desperate situation.
I emailed management to ask for a fair, partial refund. They refused, claiming that using a pair of pliers counted as an "alternative isolation method" to justify the £650 fee.
They exploit people in emergencies with predatory pricing. Do not trust them. Find a reputable, honest plumber instead.

I cannot recommend the team at Pronto Plumbers highly enough. We had a burst pipe in our house at about 9am 22nd June 2026. Understandably, we felt very anxious and worried about this. We had to turn our electricity off so had no Internet connection. Our neighbours found us a few numbers of emergency plumbers to contact and Pronto Plumbers was one of them. John Kennedy, plumber from Pronto Plumbers arrived 11.10am/11.15am. On the phone my husband was told that Pronto Plumbers covered East Lothian. We found out later that John Kennedy had come from Gateshead, quite a distance away. He told us that he would take about 90 minutes to get to us and we presumed he was at a job and probably coming from Edinburgh or nearby. On arrival he told us the call out charge was £80, plus £230 for his assessment of what the problem might be. As we were feeling very stressed and vulnerable we reluctantly agreed to this. The job was relatively simple....a pipe from the attic into our linen cupboard had a break in it. John Kennedy replaced the broken part of the pipe. He then told my husband that his charge would be in total £830....£80 + £230 + £500 for his work. John Kennedy was in our house for about 50 minutes at most. We feel that he totally exploited us and I would not want him to do this to anyone else. I would advise anyone to have nothing to do with him.
