They charged me £1.95 postage to send me tickets that have NOT ARRIVED and to make Matters worse they have now put a charge of £19.95 through today onto my account for WHAT ? and are not open until Monday so can’t give them a blasting for it. I have already sent a message saying WHERE ARE THE TICKETS YOU CHARGED ME POSTAGE FOR!!!!! That was on Thursday 20th January 2025 and now today the 1/2/25 £19.95 has gone through, I was NOT told about that!!!!! They are disgusting. Let’s hope we never meet in person. I have now reported the charge of £19.95 to my bank and they think it’s all a scam so have stopped my card so that’s EVEN MORE INCONVENIENT as I have to wait for another card to arrive. Thanks, NOT.

I have been enjoying Puzzle Digest for many years and have won several small prizes. It is very exciting to find ones name amongst the list of winners!
I also enjoy spending many hours completing the non winning competitions good for your health and the brain!!!

The same as all others on here this is Totally misleading and a scam.
I cannot believe ITV showed this competition!
I was mislead into believing I had won the word search… I was then offered a chance to win more money if I agreed to receive a free trial pack in the post for £1.95 p&p
The pack only arrived today, weeks and weeks later. I had a feeling that I had been duped into a subscription and sure enough, on the back page of the magazine, it stated I’m now in a subscription for £19.95 a month! At no point was I told this is a subscription on the initial telephone call.
So today, my free magazine has arrived, i checked my account and the £19.95 has already been taken out of my account !
I read all these reviews stating the call handlers are rude, True to expectations, the girl was talking over me saying I agreed to these terms. I asked if calls are recorded because I know full well I was not told it was a subscription.
Eventually, I got her to cancel this subscription and have requested a refund. It should be with me in the next 2 weeks apparently, so let’s hope it is…

Totally misleading and a scam.
I am surprised that ITV should be party to this type of competition.
Like so many on here saying the same we are mislead into believing we have won the word search to then be charged a minimum amount to receive further packages. At no point however are we told this is a subscription and a further £19.95 will be taken out of your account on a regular basis!?
Added to this in my case at the time they asked for my details my card was declined and I was asked for another card, when I couldn't provide one I was told they would call back the next day. However I received no further calls so imagine my surprise when I have just realised that the £1 95 followed by £19.95 has now been taken out of my account!
I am taking this up with my bank and have called puzzleplayonline to no avail as they simply are not interested being both rude, condescending and totally unhelpful.
Please be aware anyone reading this and do not take part!!

Urgent Complaint Regarding Unauthorized Charges and Subscription by ITV Contest Partner

Dear ITV Customer Support,

I am writing to raise a serious complaint about an unauthorized transaction and misleading practices by one of your contest partners, which I encountered after entering a free phone competition advertised by ITV.

Upon receiving a call notifying me that I had reached the final stage of the competition, I was offered some complimentary puzzles, lottery tickets, and syndicate entries. I was informed I would need to pay a postage fee of £1.95, which I accepted. Additionally, a £1 fee was taken by "C Rewards" to validate my account, with the assurance that it would be refunded, though this never happened.

However, to my dismay, I recently discovered that £13 has since been debited from my bank account without any prior authorization or notice. At no point during the recorded call was I informed of any subscription or recurring charges, nor did I consent to the retention of my payment details for further use. I was under the impression that the £1.95 was purely for postage. Additionally, the puzzles and tickets arrived much later than promised, further damaging my confidence in this service.

I have already contacted the provider to cancel any potential subscription—something I never knowingly signed up for—but since then, another unauthorized £13 payment has been taken. I am appalled that ITV, a trusted company, is associated with such practices that mislead and financially impact its viewers.

I request the following actions within 14 days:

1. Immediate cancellation of any subscriptions associated with my account.

2. A full refund of all unauthorized charges (£13 on 2nd November and any others I may not yet be aware of).

3. An explanation of why this occurred, along with a copy of the recorded call to verify my lack of consent to ongoing charges.

I trusted ITV, but this experience has been deeply disappointing and frustrating, especially as a disabled individual with limited mobility who relies on online competitions for entertainment.

Failure to resolve this matter promptly will result in escalation through my family connections in Citizens Advice and the Manchester legal community.

As everyone else here is saying, How could the ITV get away with advertising such a Scam,!? I called them up after they texted me, them asking for only £1.95 for postage and packaging, but said nothing about a subscription! Until they started taking £19.95 every 2 weeks!? Without my consent, I contacted my Bank, who were not sure about this,? But hopefully will cancel and refund the money they already taken; which I previously had not agreed to! Total Scam!!

My 80 year old next door neighbour saw them advertise on the TV. She rang them they offered her a book for £1.95 she agreed.
Since then they have been taking money £19.99 out of her bank regularly.
We have tried to contact them but not answering their phones or contact us emails.
Avoid avoid avoid !!!!!!!

A complete scam outfit. What I want to know is why useless regulators are allowing this bunch of grifters to advertise on mainstream TV during the day, when the negative reviews on here demonstrate this lot are selling hot air and targeting the most vulnerable. £10.80 for a phone call and direct debits for almost £20 no one agreed to.

They are a bunch of liars. Amy one of their so called managet was absolutely rude and condescending. They will steal your money and make you pay £1.95 for postage for items never sent. Beware they are scammers. She will treat you like rubbish after stealing your money. Stay away!

They can improve by giving me my money back which they've taken out my bank for nothing otherwise I'll inform my bank if you don't refund me I never authorised anything because my pension is budgeted

Complete scam! Don't trust! I entered the WordSearch lottery after seeing it on tv and got a call where I agreed to pay £1.95 (only!) for lotto tickets as part of my entry. Weeks later two payments of nearly £20 were taken and they are trying to claim that I agreed to a subscription which I didn't. Don't trust them!!!

Another SCAM they take one payment of £1.95 then 2 more payments of £19.95 can anyone tell me if they’ve managed to get money back

Asked for £1.50 postage as a one off. Since the 2 x £19.95 payments have gone out of my account that I was never informed of nor consented to. Complete scam.

I quote advert “totally free” but when they call in order to process entry you have to join a direct debit of £10 a month to be entered.

I entered this competition and paid using my credit card which they said didn't work so they asked for my debit card details instead I then found they charged my credit card and my debit card the same day I then cancelled my credit card payment but never received a refund from the company and I know find I can't cancel the debit card payments to this company unless the company gives me a cancellation code which they refuse to give me so I can't cancel this its a total scan and these people should be in prison for fraud how they can advertise on a uk television company is beyond belief and of com should be held responsible for all the fraud this company is commiting on its customers

TOTAL SCAM - There are no 30 free lottoery tickets and you get lied to with no mention of a montly £29.99 (which covers the cost of the 30 free tickets). Liars, cheats and scammers. Your tickets are only sent out after they take your £30.00 monthly fee.

There is no mention of this and they basially lie and trick you into thinking you have 30 free tickets.

I fell for this scam.

I initially thought it was a free competition on ITV.
Then I, like everyone else on here fell down the rabbit hole of the £1.95 payment. Only to find that my lottery tickets were invalidated upon cancelling my subscription to the puzzle booklet. (They do not tell you that by cancelling the booklet that it invalidates your lottery syndicate tickets) you have to find that out by reading the smallprint. They deliberately don't tell you these details upfront. So if you were to win with some of the lottery tickets, because you cancelled to £20 fortnightly membership your winning lottery ticket would be invalid anyway.

The customer service treat you increasingly with contempt as you try and fix the situation. The initial free ITV competition is most likely completely fabricated with actors posing as previous winners. I literally do not know how this scam can be allowed on ITV. When you cancel the booklet they continue to skim £20 out of your bank account. When you cancel on the phone, they don't do it, and instead just put the phone down on you, treating you as if you are an annoying troublesome customer. Even though you are just a normal person that has fallen down the Rabbit hole of this scam.

I appreciate these reviews as they have helped me deal with this. Hopefully my review contributes to warning anyone who reads them to not go anywhere near this fake ITV Scam. You will only end up loosing money.
