Much loved mini
My daughter had to get rid of her much loved Mini convertible as the cost of repair was high and it was 18 yrs old but only had 44000 miles on the clock so a good engine. We looked at many ways to let it go . We settled on REDCORN who were recommended by our garage . Anyway Atilla arrived eventually last Tuesday having to navigate how to get to us without getting trapped under two bridges 🤦‍♀️ we helped as much as we could . He sensed this was a sad day for my daughter . He was kind , and considerate in not rushing the goodbyes . REDCORN you are very lucky to have such a great employee who represents you very well . A 5 star review that was well earned 🙏

Awful experience

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with Redcorn was so disappointing that I feel others should be aware before using them.

I was quoted £154 for my car and booked a collection for Monday, with a very wide time window given. Because of this, I couldn’t take or collect my son from school and had to arrange alternative transport, all while waiting in for them to arrive. I made it clear to them that I needed the money urgently, as it was my son’s birthday the following day and we had plans.

Despite waiting all day, I heard nothing. I called multiple times and was repeatedly brushed off, told “they’ll be there” or that “if it hasn’t been cancelled, it will happen.” Later in the day, instead of being helped, I was repeatedly redirected to voicemail with no updates. By late afternoon, it was obvious no one was coming, yet I was still fobbed off with promises of an “urgent call back” that never happened.

As a result, my son’s birthday plans were affected, which was genuinely upsetting for both of us. What made this worse was the complete lack of communication, accountability, or even a basic apology.

To add insult to injury, I then received a call three days later. I was genuinely shocked they were calling at all after what had happened. When I asked why they were calling, I was met with a patronising “right, shall we start again?”, spoken to me as if I were a child rather than a customer who had been let down and treated poorly.

At that point, I put the phone down as I no longer wanted any further dealings with Redcorn. Quite frankly, I was taken aback by the tone. I would have expected any normal company to call to apologise and take accountability, but instead I was met with sarcasm and a dismissive attitude, as if they had done nothing wrong and it was unreasonable for a customer to be upset.

What followed was a cancellation message written in capital letters stating that I had said CUSTOMER HANG UP SAYING WHY ARE WE CALLING CANCEL. While that is true, the message itself was incredibly unprofessional. There was no apology, no accountability, and no recognition of the poor service I had received, just an expectation that I would want to continue dealing with them.

In contrast, I ended up using ASM Ltd, and the difference was night and day. They were polite, clear, reliable, and did exactly what they said they would do. The collection was smooth, on time, and handled professionally from start to finish.

Based on my experience, I would strongly advise others to think twice before using Redcorn. Poor communication, unreliable service, and dismissive customer care made what should have been a simple process unnecessarily stressful.

Expect to be disappointed.

DO NOT USE.

Booking in the vehicle was smooth, but on two separate occasions they have simply not shown up at the agreed time to collect the vehicle and have not bothered to keep in touch with updates. The office staff simply dismiss you and pass you onto Dispatch, and the staff at Dispatch won't bother ringing you back with any updates or news.

Sneaky tactics

Agreed a price of £834 for my car, arranged collection, then on the day of collection called to say because of an issue with the car I had already made them aware of, they could only £634. Another company that quoted me had warned me some companies will low ball the agreed price on the day of collection as they expect people just to accept it. Very sneaky and underhand tactics.
Shouldn’t be allowed and these companies should be regulated. Would not recommend. Go to scrapmycarcomparison instead, they were honest and upfront from the start and in the end, gave me the best price.

Never turned up

Never turned up, had to wait in my home from 7am to 7pm. Called them at 4pm and they told me “it could still turn up past 5” so now I’ve wasted a day, stuck at home for 12 hours with no result

Did not collect on pre arranged day.

Vehicle booked in for collection 23rd Feb. Driver messaged me at 6.30 to confirm he’d be with me and would call when he was half hour away. 7.30, message to say lorry broken down, another driver coming. Called Redcorn at 11.45 to confirm that another driver was coming, yes absolutely!! 14.23 get a call from Redcorn that my driver is coming right now. I said (aware that it was getting late for a driver to get back to base) that another day was fine if it was a problem. Told that it wasn’t a problem, driver is on route. Tried to call at 16.30, straight to answerphone. Waited till 18.00 & gave up. Got a call 26th Feb asking if I still want vehicle collected.

Used to be a really good company to deal with and I’d always recommend them to others but having gone elsewhere and received an outstanding service with prompt collection I don’t think I’ll be recommending in future.

This isn’t the first time this has happened. I understand unexpected things can happen, just keep customers informed with accurate honest information.

Scratch my car

Red cone was the best price I was given. I searched the web and they come up the best easy transaction come when they said collected the car no problem. Money in my account next day no equivalent great company very pleased with the outcome.

Really Quick and easy to get a quote

Really Quick and easy to get a quote, lady in the phone was really polite and professional, Damaro rang ahead said what time he was going to be there and arrived on time, again really polite and professional, let me know what paperwork and needed to fill out and car was gone.
Also money was in my account within 24hours

Sometimes good, sometimes awful

the first time i used them it was smooth, 5/5, the second time they just didn't turn up on two occasions, made worse by the fact that they want you to wait at home from 7am-5pm. The delay meant that when they actually did pick it up, february had already started meaning i'll lose another £20 in tax return.

Redcorn offered me nearly double the…

Redcorn offered me nearly twice what a competitor did for my Lexus SUV on 28 Jan 26. A very kind driver picked up the car on 29 Jan, and I was paid in full the next day. Very happy

Highest price paid by Redcorn to scrap…

Highest price paid by Redcorn to scrap my 20year old car. The office phoned me straight away and we booked it in for the same week. I had a call the day before to confirm that it was on the collection list. The morning of the collection the driver phoned to confirm and he rang again when he was near the house so I was able to direct him. Driver was fast, efficient and very polite. I can not fault the service and would recommend them to my family and friends.

This is the worst treatment I have ever…

This is the worst treatment I have ever experienced. Redcorn unlawfully disposed of my vehicle without any warning, consent, or lawful authority, despite being fully aware that I was the legal owner and that an active dispute was ongoing.
The vehicle was a Fiat 500, which was fully paid for, legally owned by me, and in the process of being corrected administratively with the DVLA due to an internal DVLA error. Redcorn had been informed repeatedly, by both letter and email, sent to the managing director that this matter was under dispute and that no enforcement or disposal action was to take place. I never abandoned the vehicle and never gave up my ownership rights.
The last communication I received was from Miss Lockhart, and Mr Pink who stated I would be contacted. I was never contacted. No notice was given. No opportunity was provided to resolve matters. Redcorn proceeded to dispose of my vehicle anyway.
They were fully aware:
I was the lawful owner
The vehicle had been paid for in full
The DVLA issue was administrative and being actively resolved A formal dispute was ongoing
I had expressly instructed that no action be taken
Despite this, my car was disposed of without my knowledge or consent. This is unlawful disposal and tortious interference with goods.
As a result, I am pursuing a straightforward claim to recover my financial losses for:
The full market value of the Fiat 500
The value of all upgrades and modifications
The value of all personal belongings inside the vehicle
Any consequential losses caused by their actions
Redcorn’s conduct was negligent, unlawful, and deeply distressing. No company should be able to destroy or dispose of someone’s property while fully aware of an ongoing legal dispute and active ownership. This situation has caused me severe financial and emotional harm, and I am now forced to take legal action simply to recover what was wrongfully taken from me

Two month Delay

Waited two months for an order I was told would take 3-5 days. There was no communication from Redcorn and I was made to chase the order. I was told different things by each person that answered the phone including that my order was ready to collect but on arrival no one knew anything about my order. Wasted 40+minute trip!
Website contact us forms are purely decoration as no one responds to them so don’t bother.
When I was finally able to collect the order I asked to speak to someone about the delay and was told there is no manager on site and to come back another day or email claims.
The person I spoke to from claims was extremely rude, abrupt and dismissive. Although he claimed he had read the email he didn’t respond to anything I was saying and instead just said you have the part bye.
Plenty of other places that will have better admin systems and customer service skills.

Zero Fuss From Beginning To End!

Great price, communications were plentiful & collection driver was polite & extremely helpful regarding the necessary DVLA requirements I had to submit. All of the above was in complete contrast to Silverlake who I had contacted first. Absolutely zero comms & lowball price. Many thanks, Redcorn! 10/10.

Very rude pick up driver

Very rude pick up driver, "does the car drive or is it completely f**cked" shouted to me on the phone on the day of pick up - rude and inconsiderate and I was rushed, and then he took his sweet time while I waited in the cold. I had tell him I couldn't wait around as I wasn't needed there and only then we exchanged. Okay price, bad experience. Avoid Anthony. Had the driver not been so rude I would have given over the spare key and full service history. Can't say I'm too surprised with his behaviour though.

One star is too many

One star is too many. My credit card was found in the vehicle and has been used in the N10, N15 and N17 postcodes and you guessed it ladies and gents, Redcorn's postcode is N17. Not sure anyone should take any risks with Redcorn when this is the outcome from a genuine mistake.

Don’t waste your time

I had been in regular contact with Redcorn to arrange my vehicle collection and to make sure everything was in order. Despite raising concerns about the size of my vehicle beforehand, this information was clearly ignored.

On the day of collection, I was contacted early in the morning by the driver (Rob) to confirm the collection. I later told him I could drive the vehicle to the top of the road to help with loading. Then, just 10 minutes before the scheduled collection time, he called back to say he couldn’t collect the vehicle and that the office should have already informed me due to the vehicle’s size.

This meant I had waited inside all day for nothing. I then called the office and spoke to Sarah, who rearranged the collection and provided complaints details. While I was understandably annoyed, I repeatedly told her that my frustration wasn’t directed at her personally. Despite this, the call was abruptly ended at 5pm, which I found extremely unprofessional.

The collection was rearranged for the next working day, but given what happened, the least that could have been offered was a priority collection.

Overall, very poor communication and disappointing customer service. Definitely not an experience I would recommend.
