I have a second Rockdoor that has developed a fault within a couple of years. The first one bubbled and the second one has cracked around the windows. I bought a Rockdoor based on some brief research of the brand. In hindsight I perhaps should've dug a bit deeper. The product quality is clearly inconsistent and the warranty rules are not customer friendly, make sure you check them out before purchasing. Rockdoor push you on to the door fitter and take no responsibility. I now know why the guy that fitted my back door said he wouldn't touch a Rockdoor. I will not be buying a Rockdoor again.

Our rock door has developed a fault and even though it comes with a 10 year warranty the manufacturer up until now has not replied to us.. Has been going on for about a year now.
I wrote a review on 8th Feb, Rockdoor replied on 9th Feb saying that they were dealing with my installers claim and they were manufacturing my new door. Well I have heard nothing since and this is over a month now. I amended my review to 3 stars as Rockdoor came back but I have now given them 1 star again. I would like to ask Rockdoor where my new door is?

Had a new rock door fitted and oh my goodness what a difference to the previous door.. so solid and sturdy. Really good quality. Super colour. I went for Pebble. Just love it.

I have recently used these guys to install a new Rockdoor on my home and I honestly couldn’t be happier with the result! It has completely transformed the look of my home, replacing my old woooden door with a sleek modern design that instantly boosts the appeal of the house! The difference is incredible; it genuinely feels like a completely different entrance. It also feels incredibly solid and secure! The fitter did a superb job and even kept the place neat and tidy throughout the installation! I would 100% recommend these guys!

We purchased a Rockdoor to supply to a fitter for a supply-and-fit installation to his customer. The original Select door failed within the warranty period, developing a crack in the door slab.

Because the Select range was discontinued, Rockdoor replaced it under warranty with an Ultimate door, which is marketed with a 10-year warranty.

Less than one year later, the replacement Ultimate door has also failed and is starting to swell.

Rockdoor are now refusing to take responsibility, stating they are only honouring the warranty of the original door, not the replacement. This is unacceptable.
You cannot replace a faulty product with another faulty product and then deny responsibility when that replacement fails.

The replacement door was supplied by Rockdoor, branded as a superior product with a 10-year warranty, yet it has lasted barely a year. Rockdoor are effectively avoiding accountability for supplying defective goods.

First door: cracked slab
Second door: swelling
Outcome: no support, no resolution, no responsibility taken

This has left both the installer and end customer out of pocket and seriously damages trust in the brand.

Please avoid this company.

Very dissappointed with this door. The door doesn't shut flush to the frame and its so difficult to open. The locking mechanism is very stiff and requires several complete rotations of the thumb turn inside or the key outside to open it.
What is the use of security when you are frightened of being shut in or locked out of your own home!

The thumb turn with atk lock should not be sold with the rock door as completely unsuited to handle the closing mechanism. At the very least the company should steer customers away from this type of lock. We have beem told that now it's fitted there isn't an alternative fitting that can be installed to mitigate these problems.

We have only been using this door for 6 weeks but are thinking of replacing it with a more user friendly product.

We had a Rockdoor installed 3 years ago. We now have a problem with the locking system which from research seems common with this type of door. Unfortunately for us the company who installed it went into administration, however they had left us with the leaflet detailing the 10 year guarantee (no company name was on it so we thought we could get it repaired).. Today we found out that the guarantee is worthless and we have to pay for the parts and labour. Have to say we are not happy with the fact that this is not made clear in any paperwork or even on the Rockdoor website which makes the guarantee a huge part of their sales. I have spoken to the company today, they respond quickly but made it clear we have to pay.

Love the look and quality of the door. Had it fitted a few months ago.
Im not sure about the Heritage Plus Lock
Not sure if its the design of the lock and usual to need to push the door (from the inside) or pull (from the outside) of the door in order to unlock it? Could this be a fitting issue? I have issues with keys that I’ve had cut too. They do not unlock the door smoothly at all. I realise that this could be a cutting issue but how can I guarantee any further keys cut work properly? I had them done at Timpsons

Beautifully crafted doors fitted by a EPG glazing excellent fitted withing a day front Illinois door with stable door at the rear. lovely finish no mess made superb quality.

This guy is a wealth of knowledge and clearly takes pride in his company i said i was very fussy… & attention to detail with the installation was as important as buying a top quality door.

We chose:

Manhattan Rock door. Onyx Black outer leaf and frame, White inner leaf and frame. Misted glass, Stainless steel lever handle with contemporary letter box. Side panel with Onyx black frame outside, White inside, Misted laminated glass. Low aluminium threshold.

I haven’t met a nicer guy in the double glazing industry in 45 years!

Early days, but very happy with our new Rockdoor installed by Home Smart Windows. Looks great, and installation by a great team went smoothly.

Amazing new Rockdoor .
Fantastic solid quality door , finished off absolutely perfect with a high attention to details .
The guys at McDermott Windows Blackburn were nothing more than 100% professionals .
Cracked on with the job , removed the old doors and side windows and cleaned up after themselves to leave everything immaculate.
New door looks amazing and feels solid and secure with the extra element of not feeling any draughts anymore

Had two doors fitted in 2014, front south facing door never used, this summer noticed symmetrical cracks on either side of glass panel. Fitter said could only quote for new door as now out of warranty.

Read hundreds of reviews noting stability affected by UV causing same cracking and warping particularly on dark colours.

Door clearly not fit for purpose hence decision to progress via 2015 Consumer Rights protection.

Misleading and you would not expect to pay £2000 for a door to last 10 years.

All legal options will be explored including false advertising.

Second response to RockDoor

I am fully aware of the six year rule but are you aware of the implications of advertising that your product lasts 20- 30 years (45 in a different advertisement).

Plus reasonable expectations of the lifespan of a ‘high premium’ external door.

Your doors fail the test of time in Sun exposed environmental conditions and consumer evidence strongly suggests’ they are not UV resistant particularly those of dark colour.

Your business model tries to circumvent responsibility for these manufacturing/ material issues to fitters.

Absolutely fantastic door and service. The team at Rock Door were really supportive from the first day up until installation. The door itself is of great quality as well as the fitting. Would definitely recommend!
