My wife and I have spent huge amounts at Screwfix. We recently ordered 3 new radiators. Our plumber has got around to fitting them today and I noticed that one of them is wrong. I’ve been supplied with a cheaper version that costs £53.14 less than I’ve actually paid!
I phoned to explain and said that as the radiator had now been fitted, we would reluctantly accept it - even though it doesn’t match the other two…. however, I’d like the £53.14 overpayment refunding.
The customer services woman offered a £25 goodwill credit and said I should have opened all the packages when they arrived to check them.
Surely the point is, they should have delivered the correct items that I ordered and paid for in advance in good faith? I’ve escalated this issue and await a response when I’ll update this review.

UPDATE: 5 days on and I’ve heard nothing from Screwfix… so it’s back on the phone to waste some more of my time chasing this complaint up! Watch this space for a further update!

UPDATE 2: following a further call to a more helpful lady, she apologised for the delay and chased up the department responsible for refunds. Finally a refund was issued!

I've used branches in Ashbourne, Chesterfield and Uttoxeter plus ordered online.
Online ordering works well and has a very good search engine.
Like many things with people staff vary but in the main are very good.
Prices are not always the cheapest but they often have what you want when you need it

the staff at Chatteris could not organise a what ever it is in a brothol but in store they did it twice on one order picked five lenths of gutter but of two different sizes should have been all the same, jointing unions were wrong size for the correct gutter after two trips back now having to wait for next day . completely wasted day through incompetence

Had I ordered this product from any other supplier I could have got next day delivery to my house instead of looking at close to a week (ordered late Wednesday and delivery currently expected to store on Tuesday).

Unfortunately, Screwfix consider my location as ‘remote’ (16 miles north of Aberdeen) and therefore use Parcelforce, who do not deliver to my location but give the item to Royal Mail, thereby incurring another day. I have just contacted Screwfix and after 38 hours since placing the order it has only made it as far as Chorley!

When placing the order the website advised ‘next working day’ for delivery and from previous experience I was expecting 2 days (especially as I placed the order after 2100) but having to contact customer services to be told that delivery would be Tuesday is absolute incompetence and completely unacceptable.

If the website states ‘next day’ delivery to store and you live out with a major English location, then do not order as the Screwfix business model does not support ‘next day’.

David at Dover offered great advice and help that helped me, a novice DIYer, solve a shower pump install problem, Thanks David.

Multiple small purchases recently, without issue. Last one though, was a sash clamp that turned out to be faulty. Replaced the following day, no problem at all. If only all stores could be like this. Five Stars for Screwfix

Used them for more than 5 years.Always had very good experience with them when buying, returning or getting good quality products.

I’ve had poor experiences with UK, Screwfix Birmingham, Selly Oak, customer service on two separate occasions. I placed orders with next-day delivery, expecting prompt service. However, both times I received a text the next day saying the delivery was delayed, which left me no choice but to source the items elsewhere.

On top of that, there have been several occasions when I visited a Screwfix store only to find the items I needed were out of stock. It’s frustrating, especially when you rely on them for urgent jobs.

After these experiences, I started exploring other suppliers — and I was surprised to find better prices, higher-quality products, and better stock availability elsewhere. It made me realize the importance of shopping around instead of relying on just one retailer.

Screwfix seems more focused on keeping customers happy with small in-store perks like hot drinks or doughnuts, rather than fixing the real issues with stock and delivery. People should definitely consider looking around instead of feeling tied to Screwfix out of habit.

Ordered a bath from Screwfix which I waited a week for delivery. When the plumber came to install the bath, on un rapping it saw a chip in it. I've requested a refund from Screwfix but it's left me paying the plumber twice and it's an inconvenience I can't afford.

I had an issue with my order so I called the help number...

Customer service still says "we are experiencing a high volume of calls". Last time I called them, must be at least 3 years ago, I got the same message...

Then I tried their WhatsApp service. I type in my question in some detail and their AI bot is dummer than my dog who is certainly no canine Einstein...and it feels like this messaging service is just there to act as a foil to discourage people from calling!

They did get back to me a while later on WhatsApp and were helpful so I have edited my review to reflect this.

However when you are offered the option of messaging it should be made clear you are going to be interacting with a bot not a human, and a dumb one at that.

Refurb brushcutter doesn't work for long enough
I bought this cutter over a year ago and found controls to be properly sited; harness very hard to use.
Due to this & having alternative cutters I barely used it for a year; when I eventually got a poor, but workable solution to the issues above, I tried using it & the cutter died after 15 mins, even on a full charge. Sent it back, got a cursory inspection, refused to accept it until looked at properly & tried again a few days ago. Issue was till the same, that it died (huge battery!!) after 15 mins & I'm now asking for a replacement battery. The people SF use to repair have proved to be sloppy in their checking procerdures & treat their clients like idiots.
It's a shame really; I just gave 5/5 for theircustomer service & products when shop bought, but the bad experience with the repair group gas been dire.

I purchased a 5 mt led labled Cool white, unfortunately I did not see the 4000k but put it up and it’s not Cool white next to my already Cool white in kitchen. After emailing a Ai report that it was in the middle spectrum. After numerous people dealing with me through email a total of 5 I got no where but last email they were willing to offer a “ a gesture of goodwill credit once this is resolved” what that meant after dealing with so many people I do not know! I did not reply to that email and Screwfix are gone as far as I am concerned. As I have an injury I had to pay a person to put it up and now I will have to replace it as the difference between the led strip I have Cool white are like chalk a cheese. Whether it even went to the 4000k I am not at all sure as it has that yellow tinge.

I’ve shopped at Screwfix several times now, and they consistently deliver a great customer experience. The ordering process is simple and fast, whether online or through the app. I especially appreciate the click-and-collect service—items are usually ready for pickup within minutes, which is incredibly convenient when you’re in the middle of a job

Shower died last night ,found a direct replacement on screw fix (Trinitron madid 2)was old one(new one Trinitron enrich) perfect replacement.fitted in 20 minutes,even with a 3 year olds help. Highly recommend this shower and the service from Screwfix. can't recommend the 3 year olds help though 😂, but he had fun and was the first person in the world to try the new shower.

Their website never lets me in. Server error etc. Etc. Rubbish. I end up going to B@Q

I have been to the new store in Carnforth a few times now.
Every time its been a very good experience.
This weekend they really went above and beyond to help me find the item that I needed.
I'm not a tradesman just a bungling amateur DIY'er. They were really helpful and knowledgeable people. For anyone else in my position who has worried that you will look daft without "trade knowledge" at Screwfix, worry not!
Sorry I didn't take the duty manager's name or the young lady who he was working with but my thanks and I do hope this gets passed on to the store.
Great staff Screwfix! Look after them or I'll be poaching them for my company. ( in fact I might do anyway)

Called in Wrexham screwfix today, had an idea what I needed but couldn't find in catalogue. It turned out they didn't have the exact item I needed but assistant 'Chris' did all he could to combine a couple of items which would have done the exact job. He was very patient and polite as are the other assistants. Sctewfix definitely won't let you down when it comes to customer service and prices.

On the whole I have been very happy with the service I've had from Screwfix....but come on guys, PARCELFORCE !!!!!! really !!!! if you keep using parcelfoce you are going to lose a whole lot of customers.... parcelforce delivery is soooo terrible. ie, they drive past the end of your road, then you get a text saying they attempted delivery !!!! I cancelled several things today to be at home. I recieved a 'delivery attempted' text....ironically, whilst I was on the doorstep talking to a guy from DPD who was delivering a different parcel. If you don't change your delivery service I will not order again.....Sorry, but judging by the comments on here I am not alone in my anger....as I said, not strictly Screwfixes fault , but they need to change courier for something at least halfway reliable
