Very disappointing experience with Sharp.
I was with Scripps for many years and switched to Sharp when I went on Medicare. I like my primary care doctor, but my last two experiences with Sharp’s eye department have been extremely frustrating.
At my first appointment, I arrived 20 minutes early as requested, yet waited about 25 minutes past my appointment time just to get into a room, followed by another 20-minute wait for the doctor. I was then told I needed dilating drops, which added another 20–30 minutes. I was never told beforehand that this would be necessary.
Yesterday, I arrived 15 minutes early for another eye appointment and waited 45 minutes without being seen. When I asked the front desk when I might be called, they couldn't give me any idea. The staff member was also very unfriendly and seemed bothered that I was asking.
I drove all the way from Cardiff for the appointment and ultimately left without being seen.
I understand that doctors can run behind, but patients deserve communication and basic courtesy. After these two experiences, I am extremely disappointed with Sharp.
