I was looking to purchase a new car with lots a space due to having a third child, he offered for me to have a test drive when I first went in and arranged another test drive at a later date. I was told there was a 6 month wait on the petrol hybrid and there was no stock at other dealerships but a staff member who had one on order allowed to me purchase their one. They made us very welcome and provided us with tea or coffee, had test drives in various VW Polo's, then explained different options available and emailed if we were unsure so had time to think about it without being pressurised. Went back and forth a few times and the Sales person was always very helpful, polite and never forced us in anyway. Actually was hating it buying a newer car but they made a pleasant experience.

The service and sales staff went above and beyond expectations at this centre. What could have been a very stressful situation was advised upon and resolved very quickly. Sales staff were efficient and helpful. After sales service was excellent and appreciated.

Matthew was great and made me feel really comfortable making a purchase even though it’s some distance away. He regularly kept me informed, responded really quickly to any queries and was really nice and professional when we met in person. Harry came out to greet me too and was also really pleasant.

Bought my new car from Sinclair Newport VW, I don't usually use a main dealer but thought I would have a look . Noticed car I liked and dealt with Phil. After I spoke to him I found him down to earth and didn't try to pressure me into buying the car. Offered me a fair price for my car , and I agreed to give him an answer the next day . I decided I wanted the car and to be honest Phil could not do enough for me and even noticed things on the car that I missed and promised to sort them out before I had the car. He kept me up to date about everything even sending videos of what was being done . I would definitely buy another car from them as my opinion is that he is a very honest and hard working person who goes above and beyond for his customers.

Took my VW to Sinclair VW Newport today for a required service. I was met in the car park and the car was logged in to the service system and I was met inside the showroom with a mug of coffee and a seat and a desk to work at. It was a brilliant experience. Particularly important to me as a wheelchair user to enable me to get on with my work seamlessly. Thank you.

I blame myself for not recognising the red flags early on, but I write this in the hope that future customers don’t make the same mistake I did when dealing with Sinclair VW Newport. My experience has been nothing short of appalling and rife with the kind of practices you’d hope the car industry had left behind.

The journey began with a quoted delivery time of 8–12 weeks. Reasonable — or so I thought. This quietly turned into a staggering 20-week wait, with no explanation, apology, or sense that my custom mattered in the slightest. A complete lack of communication and transparency.

The first sign that something wasn’t right was when Autoglym Lifeshine was added to my order without my consent or even a mention of it. An assumption, perhaps, that I wouldn’t notice or object. I should have walked away then.

But worse was yet to come. Upon eventual delivery of the vehicle, I discovered the PCP agreement had been set to 10,000 miles per year, despite my clear instruction for 12,000. This feels like a deliberate move — perhaps to match a competitor’s quote and hope I wouldn’t catch the discrepancy. Whether out of incompetence or deception, it’s unacceptable either way.

When I raised these concerns, the response from the sales manager was as unprofessional as it was dismissive. A tank of fuel was offered, essentially as a bribe to silence my dissatisfaction. I was effectively told to “accept it and move on.” Frankly, it was insulting.

Even on the day of collection, I was subjected to repeated pressure to purchase an additional servicing package, despite making it very clear I would never do business with Sinclair again. This persistent upselling, when my experience had already been so negative, was the final nail in the coffin.

The whole process has left a bitter taste. This dealership seems far more focused on short-term gain than customer service or honest practices. I worry for future buyers who may fall into the same trap, trusting a brand name that, at least at this branch, fails to uphold basic standards of decency and respect.

Avoid Sinclair VW Newport if you value transparency, communication, or being treated like a customer whose time and money matter.
