This company is infuriatingly bad.
This company is infuriatingly bad.
Trying to communicate with them is like pulling teeth out of a babies mouth. Impossible. Emails get no responses. Phone calls end-up either fighting with an AI or straight-up to people that don't answer their phones. Same results. This posting season is going to be pure garbage.
Very disappointing experience
Very disappointing experience. SIRVA was used for my company move. They lost around £600 pounds of my possessions and will not accept any liability. I would not recommend this company.
Very poor communication, despite good storage
My goods were well stored, but this company is incredibly poor at communications, on the limit of autistic silence. Trying to get hold of someone for inquiries is a nightmare. Nobody answers the phone, e-mail bounces. The phone number on their website does not connect. The phone numbers and address location on their invoices are from a previous location where they no longer operate.
When we did obtain a number, the person answering said he was from a different agent, unconnected to SIRVA and had been retired some while ago.
When things were sorted finally, the customer representative turned out to be located in a different country (!) and did not speak the language you need to operate in our environment.
SIRVA is good at invoicing, that is certain.
If i could give 0 stars i would
If i could give 0 stars i would, they never gave us the information we needed to send the shipment, after the goods was collected, packed and stored, we finally got the information we needed witch made the whole sending impossible. So they charged me 40000nok, so i see them as a scam, they trick you into relying on them and they dont give information what you need, they stall time, and then screw you over. Thanks for nothing, thanks for giving me all the blame for not getting the information, give me the whole bill because you guys are useless, i recommend noone to use this company, they wont move shit. They will take your money.
If I could give zero stars (North America Van Lines and Sirva)
If I could give zero stars, I would.
I hired North American Van Lines, which uses SIRVA to handle claims. What followed was one of the worst customer experiences I’ve ever had.
After my move, two beds were disassembled and left unusable. I reported the damage properly and on time. For months, I dealt with endless emails, no phone calls, no repair coordination, and no resolution.
The claims representative handling my case left the company, my claim was effectively abandoned, and I was later told I was “in disagreement with a settlement offer” a settlement that was never communicated to me in any form.
The entire process felt designed to delay, deflect, and exhaust the customer rather than fix the problem.
Neither SIRVA nor North American Van Lines should be trusted with anyone’s belongings or claims.
I would never hire either of these companies again.
To avoid
If it were only for the poor service, it could be accettable. During a difficult moment like a move, Sirva creates additional issues and mismanagement. Avod them.
Wish i could have give zero stars
Wish i could have give zero stars.
Pathetic and unprofessional services, never use them.
They will use every opportunity to commercialize and make money. My shipment from UAE to Europe was picked up 5 months still not yet delivered. Shame on the Sirva.
NA Van Lines/Sirva refuse to pay for damaged antiques.
I used North American Van Lines for moving furniture from our family home of 40 years in Atlanta to my sons, one in California and one in Texas. There was quite a bit of furniture much of which was family heirlooms and valuable antiques. The salesman was very good. The rest of it was a disaster. Loading was rushed, workers were surly and careless. The load for Dallas was put into their storage facility. The load to California went straight out. Both loads suffered damage, the Dallas damage was significant. I paid for additional insurance because of the valuable antiques in the moves, particularly to Dallas. The few damaged items in California were repaired and handled well. The company refused to take responsibility for the damage to much of the antique furniture and artwork. They reimbursed us for probably one quarter of the damage they did. We appealed their decisions repeatedly but every time they said it was not their fault. I would never recommend using this company to anyone unless you were shipping indestructible items.
Avoid this company at all costs.
Avoid this company at all costs.
We moved from Canada to Belgium with SIRVA, and the whole experience was terrible. The container was half empty despite their claim that our things wouldn’t fit, packing was careless — fragile items mixed with tools, and many things arrived broken or missing. Communication was poor, delivery was delayed by weeks, and insurance covered almost nothing. The only good part was the unloading team in Belgium, who worked fast and professionally.
If I could give less than 1 star I…
If I could give less than 1 star I would. This company - the office in OakbrookTerrace IL to be specific -
- is worst I’ve dealt with in 27 years of global moves.
The agent in charge of our portfolio seems to be working from
Home and running a side real estate business. Had no idea about our shipment and had to call her supervisor. Then it took a week for this supervisor to basically say they lacked paperwork - which was untrue - they had it all sent to them weeks prior.
It’s been awful.
Unresponsive, dropping of balls - and failure to answer phone calls or to answer any questions aside from sending a reply to detailed questions asked in voicemail and email-
saying “ we will expedite” and failing to answer any questions about what they are in charge of sending to us as part of a move with multiple shipments and 2 destinations. .
Unfortunately
I did not choose them and will let our experience be known to the European based employer arranged contractor.
Disappointing Relocation Experience – Poor Service and No Accountability
I used SIRVA for an international corporate relocation (Belgium to Germany), and unfortunately, the experience fell far short of expectations.
From the start, key services were poorly handled:
The accommodation they arranged was unsuitable, and there was no support with resolving the contract when issues arose.
No guidance was provided for setting up essential services like banking, statutory health insurance, or language school—despite these being part of the package.
Most frustratingly, several personal items were missing from my shipment, and because their team did not unpack or validate the delivery, I couldn’t document the loss at the time. Even though I reported it they refused any responsibility, citing the absence of written exceptions during delivery—something they made impossible to do.
Their communication was slow and defensive throughout, and once they decided to close the claim, there was zero willingness to acknowledge service gaps or help resolve ongoing issues.
Overall, this felt like a "tick-the-box" relocation service with minimal follow-through or care. If you're looking for a relocation partner that actually supports your transition and stands behind their process—look elsewhere.
I have luckily been able to escalate the situation in my company and hopefully we will find a better partner to take care of our teams.
Move from Hawaii to Fort Lauderdale in…
Move from Hawaii to Fort Lauderdale in June of 2024
Crew was untidy, leaving garbage every day including leftover food
Crew did not have appropriate tools and used our own tools
Crew left various nails, screws and sharp object in my driveway
The inventory sheets and descriptions on boxes were illegible
We had a number of large limited edition pictures and paid the moving company to make crates for them. Each crate was made to measure for specific pictures, numbered and a list given to the crew. The crew ignored the list and randomly assigned pictures to crates. They also packed the crates with other objects such as baseball bats and clothing racks. Two crates were received broken as they were too small for their content
We were charged $2,743.75 for a shuttle service at origin. This was based on the moving company’s claim that a container could not be brought onto our street. There were no issues at origin with a large truck accessing our street and a shuttle service was not needed when we moved in. We later realized that the shuttle service was to accommodate the movers’ business model to work multiple jobs at once. The shuttle would drop off one person at our house and the other two would drive off to work other jobs. They would come back several hours later with our shuttle loaded with other people’s furniture.
At delivery, we crossed off items on the inventory sheets as they came in. A number of items were missing and we noticed the driver crossing off items making it impossible for us to know which items we didn’t cross off and potentially missing.
The movers have acknowledged some shortcomings: "Please let me apologize again for the disarray left at your home on the pack and load date. It is unacceptable, and the issues you have raised below are being addressed”. They later offered a goodwill gesture of $300 which only covers the cost of the two destroyed crates but does nothing in terms of the poor service and unnecessary shuttle cost at origin.
SIRVA - International Relocation
SIRVA - an appalling service. They don’t listen. Out source to all sorts of contractors and have absolutely no control. They set a date for us to receive our belongings (which were arriving in another country) then tried to change it at the last minute. Our wooden furniture arrived damaged and almost every box was severely damaged or disfigured. There was absolutely no care or concern for belongs at all. A heart breaking experience. I would never recommend you use them.
Absolutely the worst
Most incompetent relocation company:
- When we arrived in the US (moving from Belgium), we drove to our preliminary housing only to find out that is was a gated community and that their offices were closed. When trying to call our agent multiple times, he never answered his phone. With the help of some locals, we were able to enter the community to find out that the address they had shared was wrong and unavailable.
- Our air shipment that should have arrived after a couple of days took 3 weeks to arrive. And on top of that, they sent it to the wrong address.
- Getting updates on our sea freight was difficult and when the company doing the actual shipping of our container reached out to me, it was clear why: They didn't had a clue what they were doing. Didn't even know who was doing the actual shipment. On top of that, they almost sent this one to the wrong address
- The moving company informed us that we had 90 days to file compalaints. The team had dropped some of our stuff that was beyond repair. When adding the clais, we get a remark that they will not handle the claims because they should have been submitted in a timeframe of 30 days.
This has been the worst experience ever. I would recommend nobody to work with them. They are the absolute worst!
@SIRVA, want to make sure you see this review, but no need to contact me. I already know that you wouldn't do anything to help out.
Move from Qatar to UK
Indescribably bad service at the UK side from Sirva. If I could give no stars I would.
Allied & Sirva insurance
Allied & Sirva insurance;
Mt Isa team was great, done a great job but Brisbane team is the worse. They ruined and broken a leg of bed frame, tried to leave the house without disclosing it. When we confronted them, they went 'ohh sorry'. After I lodged my claim, Sirva insurance declined it, claiming that the staff left the frame in the room, it was moved after they left therefore, we broke it. This is a full-scale scam including insurance adjuster and movers
I am working for sirva for many years.
I am working for sirva for many years.
I do not recognize the bad reviews.
We do thousands off moves each year.
So .....
Even a zero star is too much for this…
Even a zero star is too much for this unbelievably pathetic service! There is just no empathy for the customer or their time! How they continue to survive is beyond me! Absolutely atrocious
Let’s be clear the scam that Sirva is
Let’s be clear the scam that is being played here. Allied partners with these charlatans as a way for drivers to take your money and your hard earned items with them home. They use a ruse of box numbers that aren’t accurate and they start putting them in the truck immediately and ask you to sign after the fact. I can’t believe I paid them almost 8k to touch my items and then hide behind this garbage can company as a way to justify their movement. Warning do not use Allied ever.
