As an expat living in Mexico I was looking for a SIPPS provider to manage a pension managed by ReAssure that had matured and was awaiting payment.

I looked carefully at several SIPPS providers and after contacting them for info I was either not impressed by their response or by the quality of the data provided

I then reached out to SJB Global and was delighted and impressed by their quick response. Living in Mexico I was assigned a specialist called Matthew Quinn.

During the following 10 months as ReAssure mishandled my account Matthew was a godsend in that he stuck by me when really at times it seemed no progress was being made.

His financial advice was significant and detailed but delivered in a way which did not overwhelm. He patiently answered the many questions I had and after a thorough review of my situation he recommended an investment plan based on my needs and responses to his questions.

At no time did I feel pressured and if I was unsure on a particular point Matthew provided answers promptly.

Matthew and the team of administrators went to incredible lengths to liaise with ReAssure and finally, as payment was made it went smoothly and my pension is now invested in a funds of Matthew's recommendation.

I felt that Matthew went over and above the call of duty by providing a human touch as well as sharing his knowledge and advice.

Having relocated from UK to Jersey, I contacted SJB Global to review my pensions options and a possible transfer of my UK pension pot to a Qualifying Recognised Overseas Pension Scheme “QROPS”. Following advise and help from Rob Hoey of SJB, including communication with a major Jersey pensions provider introduced by Rob, I concluded that in my particular circumstances a QROPS transfer was not the best option. I chose instead a full pensions cash withdrawal and re-investment in an Offshore Investment Solution provided and set up for me by SJB. I am very happy to recommend Rob and SJB Global.

Generally very good experience. I just needed to be sure of the processes, being somewhat inexperienced.

I have been a client of SJB since late 2022 or early 2023. This review is not based on a newly completed transaction with them, but my experience over the period and my most recent transaction this month. Like most people I know I was canvassed by SJB through an initial telephone call and follow-up email. What impressed me was the lack of rush from SJB. Usually, a telephone canvas is very intense, giving loads of information and trying too hard to convince. SJB were very relaxed, and patient, I am not very trusting, and they respected my position. Having spoken at length and done my due diligence (checking the FCA register details of the company and the consultant), I completed a transaction with them. Everything was completed in a quick and stress-free manner.
When my consultant left the SJB company to further his own career, headhunted for a senior role in another company, the handover to my new SJB consultant was seamless. The complete process initiciated by the exiting consultant, who put me in contact with the new guy. Such was the respect for SJB, the outgoing consultant never tried to “poach” me, instead affirming I would be better staying with SJB.
SJB do not work for free; there are fees to pay. That said, I know all the fees I am paying before I complete any transaction, and they are particularly careful to advise me of underlying fees which would be otherwise invisible to me.
So far, so good.
