This was an amazing trip and more than met our expectations, which were very high based on our experience with the company in Belize last year. Every aspect of the trip, from start to finish was perfectly choreographed and executed. During our planning for this trip, the staff was helpful, professional and went out of their way to assist whenever necessary.
Marcus and Ian were exceptional hosts and anticipated all our needs. They were kind, thoughtful, knowledgeable and entertaining.
As an example, when I was sick, Marcus paid special attention and provided support and gave us good and helpful information regarding medical assistance in Bali when we were there between snorkel resorts. Ian offered special, unplanned snorkel opportunities (Bimbles!) outside of scheduled snorkels and spontaneous trips outside the resort locations.
Snorkel Venture is fortunate to have such dedicated and experienced guides.
MIsool and Wakatobi were magical snorkelling locations and the resorts themselves were some of the best we've ever been to. Thank you so much for making our holiday so special and we look forward to further adventures with Snorkel Venture!

Our Snorkel Venture trip to Misool and Wakatobi was fantastic! The two resorts had stunningly rich reefs filled with live coral, fish galore, and sea creatures of all kinds. The words and pictures we had seen and heard describing this beautiful underwater world were only a mere taste of what actually exists and what we were able to experience first-hand. By far this was the best snorkeling trip we have ever taken!

Our Snorkel Venture guides, Marcus and Ian, truly made this trip extra special! Both of them genuinely cared for each and every person in our group, creating a remarkable atmosphere for all of us to have an incredibly enjoyable time on both land and sea!

Daily and regularly throughout the day, from the time we arrived in Jakarta to the time we left Bali, Marcus made “his rounds,” not only asking each person how they were doing but making sure any concerns we had were well taken care of by himself, by Ian, or by someone to get the need met. They truly went above and beyond what normally would be expected in meeting our needs and others on our trip.

Loving their jobs – the people, the snorkeling, and the presenting challenges along the way – was not only visible but transformed the ordinary to extraordinary. Marcus’ professional photos and videos shared freely with all of us along with Ian’s and others in our group continually highlighted the beauty of God’s creation that we were so privileged to see and experience!

Alex and Graham were fun and helpful.
Alex pointed out unusual sitings (turtles, crocodile fish, etc.) but the other guides didn’t necessarily relay the info. Alex’s use of a drone helped to determine if mantas and other interesting things were around and he tried 3 times to give us opportunities to see them— alas they weren’t cooperative. Alex’s photography tips seemed to be were appreciated by all with cameras. Alex also did a good job trying to keep us together enough and he was a champ at dealing with some challenging. Nominate him for sainthood! He’s evening presentations were well done and appreciated.
Guides from Palau Aggressor 2 didn’t point out much—clearly not used to snorkelers.
Several drift snorkels had sufficient current to make photography difficult. Initially I was disappointed by learning the NecoMarine tenders and the Aggressor folks were taking us to some of the same sites— but it worked out really well given different conditions and amounts of time available to explore. Tho spending the last 2? nights in the same bay we’d been in for the first 3-4 days of the trip was a bit of a let down. The number of sites with multiple dive and snorkel boats on them was sometimes problematic but Alex and the Aggressor capt managed to find alternative sites and/or change timing. Well done! The walkable restaurant choices around the Palau resort weren’t numerous —but were adequate. The food choice and quality of the group dinner at the Palau Royal Resort was awful. All in all— I’d rather have been on the live aboard the whole time. The land tour of Palau was “meh”. Glad it was only a couple of hours.
In the future, I’d like to see more fees included in the upfront cost— e.g. port fees and tips — Viking Cruises does this. It’s a lot of cash to have to carry around. There was also some confusion among guests as to whether we needed to pay a green fee and a departure tax (we didn’t as it was included in our airline costs.
I appreciated that SV arranged a hotel for all of us to hang out at for the last day given that we had to leave the Aggressor at 8a.m. And the flights back to the US didn’t depart until 2a.m. the next day— this is another cost I’d like to see included in the upfront trip costs. As it was it was a completely wasted day but all were tired so we tried to rest up for the marathon of flights we were all going to experience.

Great Freediving trip to Belize. I did the Turneffe Island Freediving workshop in February 2025. Turneffe Island Resort was excellent. It's what you would expect from a 5-star resort. However, the real star was the free diving workshop held by Asha and Emma. Asha is an excellent, pleasant host and kept everything well organized. Emma is a real star. She's a gifted free diving and Nidra yoga instructor. I learned far more than I expected. I can't wait to free dive again.

Snorkel Ventures Misool and Wakatobi tour was perhaps the best guided experience we have done. First, the stars are the resorts themselves with some of the finest reefs in the world, including the house reefs. But the skills of Marcus and Ian are superb- keeping the cats herded, worrying about details (boarding passes, connections, behind-the-scenes smoothing of problems), and in addition, being genuinely warm and caring people. Misool and Wakatobi are very different and in some ways complementary resorts in terms of lodging, size, meal service, reef experience, and also in water quality- there is some human debris in the water (plastic) at Wakatobi as it is closer to villages than Misool, but most of the time this was avoided. Snorkel Ventures had the right group size and was top-notch in communication and doing the hard background stuff to make tours such as this one seem effortless to their customers. We will definitely go on another one of their tours!

We laughed - we cried; we played - they worked. What a beautiful, enriching, transforming, fun-filled, wonder-full, and yes, spiritual experience.
Marcus’ and Ian’s genuiness, humor, playfulness, generosity, photographic skill and artistry, organization, and humanity made this an experience we will cherish and remember. They are both gems who brought their individual strengths and talents to create a magnificent snorkel venture. We are grateful.

Amazing trip start to finish with Snorkel Venture to Misool and Wakatobi.

We had never done a 'Snorkel' focused trip before, let alone with about two dozen fellow travelers that we had never met prior to landing in the trip's first destination. So we had a lot of questions up front about how this would unfold. We had questions about the flights, the food, photography, what to bring, how to work in some dives with the snorkeling, etc. The Snorkel Venture team was consistently responsive with answers that helped us make the decision to book the trip. We did a lot of great snorkeling on the trip, and some great dives too.

Enjoyed the Snorkel Venture trip so much that my wife is planning to book another trip with Snorkel Venture! Everyone on the Snorkel Ventures team was responsive and helpful in getting everyone to the destinations in fine shape. All group movements by boat, bus, airplanes, and taxi were carefully coordinated by a team of people. No traveler in the group was left behind at any stage, and they checked in every day on how every member of the trip was doing with the travel, the food, the accommodations, the snorkeling, etc.

The fellow travelers with us on the adventure were from a wide range of backgrounds and added a lot of great companionship and camaraderie. The group bonded and laughed together daily over meals during which we shared details of all the great things we had seen that day underwater. I would happily do another trip with the same collection of interesting and friendly people.

I don't recall much emphasis in the prospectus for the trip about helping with photography, but for me the daily coaching we got from both Marcus and Ian with underwater photography was an exceptional bonus feature. I have been shooting video and stills underwater for years on other trips, but I learned more on this trip with these guys than on any prior trips. The coaching paid off, my pictures at the end of the trip are miles better than those from the first day of the trip. Every day Marcus and Ian not only found the great things we wanted to point a camera at, but had detailed suggestions about composition, lighting, aperture, focus distance, photo edits, etc. I learned a ton, and will never forget this trip. Hope we can do another trip like this one soon.

Incredible trip to Misool and Wakatobi with Snorkel Venture and their amazing guides Marcus and Ian. A lot of work is required behind the scenes to coordinate multiple transfers, excursions, and 22 people but they do it all seamlessly while keeping everyone in top spirits with continuous light-hearted banter. In the water they pointed out amazing sea life and did their best to satisfy everyone’s wish list. The high-quality daily videos and photos and the final video are the icing on the cake. Stunning corals and sea life, top notch accommodations and food, super helpful resort staff. This was our 2nd trip with SV and we’ll be back for more. Keep up the outstanding work!

Snorkel Ventures, led by Marcus and Ian did an outstanding job! They were expertly organized, responsive to solve any issue that came up and significantly exceeded expectations with their photography and videos presented after each snorkel session. Furthermore, the summary video that Marcus created was outstanding. We will use Snorkel Ventures again next year

This was a really great trip! The snorkelling was fantastic, the places that we stayed at and especially their staff was wonderful, and our guide Sabine was outstanding.
All of the arrangements needed to get us to locations - flights, boats, airport/boat pick up/drops offs, all were well planned and went flawlessly.
The company's staff were very responsive to all questions leading up to the trip.
I would highly recommend this company for any snorkelling trip.

Snorkel Venture is the greatest at what they do; and that is providing outstanding snorkeling adventures to the best places ever to snorkel. We have done several trips with them and their staff is second to none when it comes to taking care of all the things necessary to make you snorkeling as worry free as possible and FUN. Sabine, our group leader on this past trip to Indonesia, was just fabulous, totally organized, attentive to all our needs and just an outright GREAT person to snorkel with and we hope we get a chance to snorkel with her again in the future and she remains with Snorkel Venture for years to come.

The Belize Turneffe Resort Freediving workshop/snorkeling tour was nothing short of remarkable. The tour was such a kaleidoscope of fun and skills and education and experience and beauty. From watching stunning spotted eagle rays gracefully patrolling the reef, to re-learning to breathe at daybreak every morning, to eating dinner and falling asleep under the stars at night.

Our leaders, Emma and Asha, were such a really great team. Emma is very knowledgeable about freediving and breathing and anxiety and is so patient and kind and encouraging. She is an excellent teacher and speaker. Asha is also very knowledgeable, organized, efficient, an ace photographer and videographer. She's a bright, bright light. Together their sum was greater than their two parts.

I learned a LOT. I am not a freediving natural and not an extremely experienced snorkeler. I was at the very bottom of the class but each try got a little better.

The staff and accommodations at Turneffe so much exceeded my expectations that it would take many more pages than I'm allowed to describe how truly kind, thoughtful, thorough and accommodating ALL of the staff were, from groundskeepers to administration, there was not one employee who did not greet us, or try to help us before we even asked. And the rooms were beautiful and clean and spacious.

Our snorkel guide (Jovan) and captain (Jason) seemed genuinely happy to be out on the water, guiding us and educating us marine life, coral, boating etiquette, you name it. They are an experienced, genial team and they both went out of their way to make our snorkeling trips memorable.

We also had the good fortune to have excellent waitstaff and bartenders. Shout out to Chris and Charles and everybody who worked so very hard to make our trip so enjoyable and carefree.

I just spent a lovely week on Turneffe Atoll in Belize doing a freediving class with Emma and Asha. This was my fourth trip with Snorkel Venture, and like the others, it was top-notch! Our days on Turneffe started and ended with a group yoga exercise, and in between there was great snorkeling, beatiful scenery, excellent food and drink, and lots of fun and laughter. Emma is a fantastic instructor - she's patient, encouraging, and supportive. And Asha was a fantastic "assistant" and videographer for the trip. We were all surprised to learn this was the first trip Emma and Asha had done together, because they worked as a seam-less team.

As with all Snorkel Venture trips, I was well taken care of from the moment I booked my trip until the time it ended. Crystal, Ben, and Bernita excel at customer service on the "administrative" end of things, and the guides continue to provide exceptional service throughout the trip.

I'm already trying to decide which Snorkel Venture trip I should do next year!

Everything was so well organized I never had to worry about the details. All information concerning flights and activities was communicated very effectively.
Both resorts,Papua Eco Resort and Misool Resort were unique in their own ways. Misool was phenomenal. The food exceptional and the resort a snorkeling paradise.
Sabine our guide was so knowledgeable and energetic! She made everyone feel comfortable and special. She went above and beyond in everything she did! She put together a beautiful video collection of all our adventures.

Sabine possesses a child-like wonder, awe, and enthusiasm for the marine environment, and nature, in general. She carries out her responsibilities with aplomb, ensuring everyone in her group is safe, secure, and informed. And she is very social, making everyone feel welcome, considered, and respected. Putting these skills and talents together delivers a leader that's not just good, but truly phenomenal. Sabine is the best tour director I have ever encountered.
My favorite moment was snorkeling with the mantas, where we saw over 20 manta and devil rays. The house reef at Misool, the mangrove snorkel near Gam and the soft "candy" coral in the Misool area were all spectacular highlights for me.
I look forward to our next trip with Sabine.

Just returned from trip to Raja Ampat with Snorkel Venture. It was superb from start to finish! Our communications during the planning process were excellent and once underway, all details were taken care of. Can’t say enough about how well organized this team is!
The lodges we stayed at were wonderful and exactly as advertised.
Best of all was our guide! Friendly, fun, caring, organized and with an encyclopedic knowledge of the area. She took care of each individual’s needs while making sure we functioned well as a group too.
We are already looking forward to our next trip with Snorkel Venture!

Snorkel Venture & Turneffe Island Resort: A Dream Snorkel and Free Dive Vacation

From the moment I stepped off the plane, I knew I was in good hands, and my expectations were absolutely exceeded. Snorkel Venture took care of EVERYTHING – from the moment I arrived to when I left, they made sure every detail was thoughtfully planned and executed. They didn’t leave a single stone unturned!

Turneffe Island Resort in Belize is top-notch, offering the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. It’s an intimate and welcoming setting where the staff truly goes above and beyond. They get to know you by name, learn your likes and dislikes, and make every effort to ensure each guest has the best experience possible. Whether you’re seeking thrilling underwater adventures or just want to kick back on the beach, this place has something for everyone.

What truly made this trip unforgettable were the guides, Emma and Asha. Their passion for what they do was evident from the start, and their expertise truly exceeded my expectations. Emma, with her deep knowledge of free diving, led us through each day with a teacher's eye and a personable wit. We started our mornings with breath optimization exercises at sunrise, followed by thrilling expeditions into the ocean where Emma kept safety at the forefront. Small groups made it feel personal, and I never felt rushed. She provided great feedback on form and technique while keeping things fun and stress-free. After each dive, Emma also held breathing lessons at the pool and, to finish the day, guided us in Yoga Nidra under the stars, rounding out the experience with mindfulness and relaxation.

Asha, an incredibly skilled diver and snorkeler, was with us every step of the way, helping coordinate activities and ensuring everything went smoothly. She documented our dives with memorable videos and was always there to offer guidance and support. Her attention to detail and enthusiasm made the whole trip flow seamlessly, and she really helped create a fun, friendly atmosphere among all the guests.

I went on this trip solo, but by the end, I had made so many new friends. The vibe of the resort and the group of people Snorkel Venture attracts made for a wonderful, welcoming vacation. The blend of adventure, relaxation, and camaraderie was simply magical.

I cannot recommend this trip highly enough. Whether you’re an experienced free diver or just starting out, the combination of excellent guides, the stunning location, and the incredible experience will leave you wanting more. I’m already looking forward to returning next year for a refresher course and more underwater adventures!

The Turneffe Snorkelventure trip was absolutely magical!
This was a splurge for me for a special birthday and since I had never been on a snorkel trip before I was a bit wary. The trip was a perfect blend of snorkeling, water and rest. I loved all of it. The snorkeling was heavenly and the guide was so kind and knowledgable. Our Snorkelventure leaders, Asha and Emma, were fabulous and so fun to be around. They were very thorough and helpful and made the trip perfect - in every way. I loved the resort! The "all-inclusive" part really lived up to it's name - fabulous food, snacks and care by the staff (who immediately learned my name and my preferences). I certainly did not get this out of my system. I can't wait to go again.

Snorkel Venture handled every detail, from shepherding us through airports to taking us to incredible snorkel sites. Our guide Marcus took great pictures that many times included us in the shots, then put together a slide show that even included several drone videos. Just a wonderful tour put together by a very professional tour company. Five stars all the way.

As usual Snorkel Venture did a great job organizing and leading this tour; with Alex and Bernita helping us with airport transfers, underwater camera settings, and other details onboard. However, the Aggressor II ship selected for this tour was not up to the usual luxury and comfort standards we have come to expect from them. We were encouraged by the crew to drink water that may have been contaminated and became violently ill on a rough crossing to the Silver Bank Whale Sanctuary. The food onboard was great and the chef was fantastic and mostly met our dietary restrictions. The humpback whale encounters were wonderful, however it appeared we were assigned to a tender with less experienced guides even though we are loyal 4 time Snorkel Venture customers with another tour already booked. We do appreciate the extra time the Aggressor crew arranged for us in the Silver Bank Whale Sanctuary to compensate us for maintenance issues that delayed our departure, but we would not repeat this tour on the same ship.
