My wife & I had an absolutely wonderful experience snorkeling at Misool with Snorkel Venture, led by Duxy.
The communications (prior to the trip) with Bernita in the home office (herself an experienced guide) were cordial, thorough, and reassuring - dealing with the complicated logistics of getting to our exotic destination. Once in Jakarta, Duxy took over as the ideal tour guide: well-organized, careful without hovering, got to know everyone personally within the first few days, always eager to share his expertise re: matters marine & photographic, great fun to be with. He shepherded us from Jakarta through the 5 hour midnight plane ride followed by the 4 hour speedboat ride to the remote island in the far east of Indonesia that would be our home for the next 12 days. He then accompanied the excellent local guides, alternating among the various boats: ours had only 6 guests with 2 guides plus the driver.
Snorkel Venture managed to put together an extremely congenial group of guests for our trip and this, along with the attitude of the entire Misool staff, made for a most relaxed and pleasant experience.
We did have some mobility issues that were readily dealt with through the efforts of Duxy, Sue (the manager at Misool) and others of the staff - such that we never missed a snorkel or a meal.
As anyone who has been to Raja Ampat (where Misool is located) knows, the reefs and marine life are second to none in the world, and we would hope to revisit that area on another of Snorkel Venture's fabulous adventures.

We went on another Snorkel Venture trip, and once again, the company and their local partner delivered a wonderful experience. We spent 10 days on a live-aboard in Cenderawasih bay in West Papua, Indonesia. Coralia is a fantastic ship, with a local flare. This is not an ordinary liveabord; this ship is a beauty built in traditional Indonesian 'Pinisi' style and offers all comforts, including a camera room. The service and food were outstanding. The crew took care of all our needs, including washing all our gear after each snorkel. After each snorkel we were welcomed back with hot drinks and often a nice warm towel. What makes this trip amazing is of course the fact that we got to snorkel for 2 days with 18 different whale sharks, big males and also some juvenile. We were very close to the sharks and had plenty of swim time with them. This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. One even came close to the boat one day. While the whale sharks were the definitively the highlight of the trip, we snorkeled many different beautiful reefs, including some atolls. The biodiversity here is amazing. We saw many endemic species, plenty of anemone fish, a 'walking shark' or Papuan e shark, huge cuttlefish, a crocodile fish, plenty of really big and old hard coral, nudibranchs, star fishes I have never seen before. Plenty of interesting things even for people that have snorkeled many reefs around the world with wonderful opportunities for underwater photography. We also had 2 night snorkels. Our guide, Alex, was amazing and took fantastic pictures of the trip. Additionally, we had 4 dive masters with us in the water at all times that were finding many interesting creatures for us. The cruise directors, Debbie and Jerry, really are professional at what they do, make the experience great for us and ensured we would get to see the most amazing things. We highly recommend this trip and Snorkel Venture particularly if you like to snorkel and free dive. These trips are much better than going with divers boats since are catered for snorkelers (from beginners to advanced) and sites are chosen accordingly. Snorkel Venture has a lot of experience and knowledge on the sites, particularly in Indonesia, and they will make sure you'll have a fantastic experience in and out of the water.

We had an amazing experience on our snorkel venture to Indonesia. The accommodations were all five star but the crowning jewel was our amazing guide, Marcus. Not only did he educate and inform us of all of the wildlife but also provided amazing pictures and overhead drone shots for us to remember our trip. It was truely a trip of a lifetime.

Regarding the accommodations:
The Alami Alor felt like staying in a five star hotel with family. Our hosts were so welcoming and accommodating. The staff was amazing!!!

The Komodo resort also offered five star accommodations and the location was incredible. The local dive guides provided amazing service and the food was excellent.

I had high expectations for the snorkel venture experience. I also had some qualms as I had never traveled with a group before. This trip was better than anything I could have imagined!

Snorkel Venture tour company coordination:
My husband and I booked this trip originally in 2019. We then decided to get married and SV worked with us to move it for our honeymoon. Due to COVID we were unable to travel at the scheduled time and this summer was the first summer we were able to make it to Indonesia. Ben and Bernita worked with us again to ensure that we were still able to take the trip even with that delay. We had not mentioned in the nearly 5 years since that time that this was originally for our honeymoon. However, we arrived at Alami Alor to a handwritten note wishing us a great honeymoon (thank you to the resort manager, Alex!). They remembered! The same was true when we moved on to Komodo Resort. "Happy Honeymoon" was spelled on our bed in palm fronds!

Tour Guides: Marcus was our tour guide for the full trip and Dalton joined us at Komodo Resort. Both were phenomenal trip leaders with fantastic senses of humor and an incredible amount of patience and calm as all details were worked out. Marcus truly went above and beyond to ensure all of our comfort for the full trip (e.g., dealing with my very picky eating habits)! He is incredibly experienced and led us to all of the best sites, making last minute changes to accommodate the currents and weather and spotting the coolest creatures (blue whales, dolphins, rays, sharks, frog fish, eels, beautiful fish and amazing corals, to name only a few). Marcus also gave us mini-lessons in free diving so we could dive deeper and remain longer underwater. We would 100% travel with him again. He truly ensured that this was a special trip for all 10 members of our group.

Resorts:
I can’t speak highly enough of Alami Alor. Alex and Uri, the resort managers, took care of everything to ensure all was perfect for our stay. The accommodations were exceptional, as were the snorkel trips (also staffed with a marine biologist-Timo, and Alor locals who snorkeled alongside us, keeping us safe as well as spotting all the hiding wonders of the ocean). The kitchen staff cooked delicious meals and, again accommodated my picky eating habits. The food was amazing and all of the resort staff ensured that the trip was ideal for all ten members of our group.

Komodo Resort was our next stop and though not as quaint as Alami, was also a beautiful resort with attentive restaurant and cleaning staff. The truly special staff were those that took care of all of our snorkeling needs. We again had amazing local snorkeling guides join us on each trip, keeping us safe in the water and making the snorkels the most enjoyable they could be. They took care of our equipment to ensure everything was rinsed and where it needed to be when it was time for our adventures.

Overall, it was honestly the best two weeks of my life and I can’t recommend Snorkel Venture highly enough!!!

Cannot say enough good things about this fabulous company! I've traveled with them twice and I’m already signed up for another trip. I anticipate traveling with them many more times, until I’m too old to enjoy it anymore. They seamlessly manage the entire trip, start to finish. All three guides I’ve traveled with, Dalton, Marcus, and Asha, go way above and beyond to make everything easy for their guests. The snorkel sights are truly for snorkelers, not tagged onto a dive trip. The snorkelventure guides know the sights intimately so they are selected for the best experience, considering tides and currents and winds. At each location there are also local guides. I previously did the Misool/Wakatabi trip and this time Alor/Komodo. Hard to choice where the best snorkeling is!

From the booking process through our travels and our departure we were well informed in advance of every step. The only surprises we experienced were the delightful sort.

Our Indonesia snorkeling itinerary included Komodo Resort and Misool Eco Resort. We enjoyed the island resort experience and everyday boat trips to different sites. We were lucky to have 2 experienced guides on the first part of our trip. Both were knowledgeable of the reefs, sea life and behaviors and we had fun together. Both locations provided independent snorkeling in the “house reef”, 2 guided trips per day by boat and supported by local guides who are good spotters which led to delightful and memorable sights.

This trip rates as the BEST water based vacation I’ve experienced, including live aboard dive boats. I will book again with Snorkel Venture. I trust them to vet regions, choose and manage all the details that matter.

Recently completed a Komodo/Misool trip with Snorkel Ventures. It was fantastic. Super resorts (the food and accommodations were wonderful), excellent snorkeling, super well organized, and fantastic guides - Marcus and Ian- taking care of us every step of the way. From the first contact with Bernita to the last goodbye at the airport, no detail was overlooked. The enthusiasm of all involved was contagious. Absolutely hope to book another trip through Snorkel Venture.

Absolutely wonderful, trip of a lifetime!!! Snorkeling was amazing and we were well taken care of which is so nice for a vacation! Every day was a special day and the food was amazing! Marcus and Ian were THE BEST and we were truly blessed to have them. THANK YOU from Steve and Cynthia❤️

Snorkel Venture did an outstanding job in getting us an amazing guide (Duxy) and navigating the details of traveling to and from the remote and wonderful Misool Resort in Raja Ampat.

We loved our snorkeling trip to Misool. We had lots of pre trip support, and felt prepared and informed. The destination itself was everything we had hoped, fantasy island. Days were full of snorkeling on fantastic reefs teeming with life. Duxy was a wonderful guide. Great food, comfortable accommodation, really conscientious resort. They attend to your every need. It's a bit of a trying trip to get there, but it was worth it. We couldn't have imagined the vibrancy and abundance of marine life we got to see!

Snorkel Venture is a top notch company who goes out of their way to give guests a great experience. Graham was wonderful when booking and answered our many questions quickly. We loved our Red Sea snorkel trip and had amazing snorkelling with spinner dolphins, sharks, turtles, eels, and lots of fish! Our 2 guides Duxy and Dalton were fabulous and made the trip worry free, safe and lots fun. The Red Sea resort and live aboard were wonderful with great food and our tour group was friendly and fun. This was our 2nd trip with Snorkel Venture and we are already booked again to go to Indonesia. We highly recommend this company!

This great experience started with Graham at snorkel Venture who did all the coordinating and communicated everything so well.
Duxy was an incredible tour leader and snorkeling guide. There was lots of common sense, thinking out of the box planning which made for a better experience based on day-to-day situations both on land and when at the Red Sea.
I would consider myself lucky to travel with Duxy again on my next Snorkel Venture tour.
Accommodations were very good. Transportation was excellent.
This end Edup being a very special trip for my wife and I from beginning to end. I would never hesitate to book with Snorkel Venture again, and will plan to in the not too distant future.

This was a wonderful trip. I researched trips for some time and am glad I went with snorkel venture. Our group was only 14 people and it was a varied and interesting group. Everything was organized and went smoothly. We were lucky enough to have two great guides the first week, Marcus and Ian. I hope to see more of both of them. The guides and company have developed rapport with the local people and resorts to really promote a great experience. It was so relaxing to realize that someone else would take care of everything and deal with all of the details. Both locations had fantastic snorkeling and all staff were so supportive, it was like leaving family. I would use snorkel venture again.

It was our first guided snorkel trip and they did not disappoint. Great guides, accommodations, food and snorkeling. Are already planning a second trip with them to Indonesia is 2025.

Incredibly well organized. Great guide (Duxy) with a wealth of knowledge who planned each day on the fly around winds. My wife was sick on day 2 in Cairo and needed to spend an extra day - they leaped into action and rearranged everything including escort through airport security and a car a day later. Will do another trip

This was my second trip with Snorkelventure.
Highlights for me were snorkelling with a pod of spinner dolphins, seeing turtles & moray eels and the beautiful extensive house reef at Marsa Alam.
The accommodation and food throughout the trip was very good.
Our guides, Duxy & Dolton were very knowledgeable & friendly with a keen sense of humour. It was a pleasure to spend time in their company and with the other snorkelling guests from different parts of the world.

Our trip to Misool, Bali and Wakatobi with Snorkelventure was an amazing experience. The communications before the trip were clear and reassuring. The minute we met Dalton and Asha at the hotel in Jakarta, I knew we could relax and they would handle the details. The complex logistics and transfers were smooth and stress free. Both resorts were beautiful with wonderful staff and great food. The snorkeling was amazing and unforgettable. We are planning our next adventure with Snorkelventure. Hard core snorkeling adventure! Wow-what a trip!
Snorkel Venture is a quality tour company that is well run and always has their clients interests in mind. Unexpected things happen and with nature there are no guarantees of seeing what you want to see. But Snorkel Venture’s staff and their partners do what they can to get their clients those experiences. With our group we were lucky to see everything we wanted to see, and rare creatures/critters/fish that are very uncommon. It was an epic trip. We hope to go on another trip with Snorkel.Venture in the future. The staff at Alor were excellent and very attentive. It was wonderful having the resort to ourselves The food was amazing. The bungalows were comfy and the outside bathroom and shower were dream like.
Komodo resort was a very different experience and lovely. The bungalows were very nice also. The staff tried hard to please everyone.
We had a very fun group and Alex, our leader, was so fun and helpful. We would recommend a tour with Alex any time. Thank you Alex for all you did.
