A Coordinated Corporate Scam Disguised…

A Coordinated Corporate Scam Disguised as a Car Subscription — Avoid Sorglos Günstig Fahren

My experience with Sorglos Günstig Fahren GmbH (SGF) has been one of the most exploitative and dishonest consumer experiences I’ve ever had. What they advertise as a simple, transparent, “carefree” car-subscription service is, in reality, a coordinated system of cost deflection, misinformation, and double-charging, built within a much larger corporate network under AVAG Holding.

AVAG Holding doesn’t just own SGF — it also controls many of the so-called “independent” partner dealerships SGF uses to distance itself from responsibility. One of these is Autohaus Staiger, which handled my vehicle after a minor incident that any honest company would have resolved fairly.

In my case, the entire ordeal began with something as simple as a stray pebble. A small stone hit my windshield, creating a crack. Instead of providing assistance under their “all-inclusive” model, SGF and Autohaus Staiger immediately began a corporate ping-pong routine — each side blaming the other, neither offering clarity, and both ensuring the customer carried every possible cost.

I ended up being charged over €1,200 for the windshield repair, and to this day, no proper accounting or cost breakdown has ever been provided. On top of that, because the repair took over two weeks — more than a week longer than the Autohaus itself had estimated — I was still required to pay the full monthly subscription for the unusable car and an additional €300+ for an Ersatzwagen (replacement car) during that time. In short: I was double-charged for a problem that originated from a pebble.

Their so-called “basic insurance plan” is a scam. It excludes virtually everything a reasonable driver would expect to be covered. The moment you file a claim, the illusion of protection vanishes. SGF hides behind legal fine print and a web of affiliated dealerships to make sure you, the consumer, foot every bill.

The coordination between SGF and Autohaus Staiger — both under AVAG’s ownership — creates a closed loop of responsibility avoidance. When you try to resolve a problem, you’re sent in circles between “partners” who in fact answer to the same corporate parent, while you continue to pay the costs that keep that system profitable.

It’s a predatory business model that thrives on confusion and corporate opacity. SGF’s name, “Sorglos Günstig Fahren” (literally “Carefree Driving”), is a cruel joke — there is nothing carefree about watching a small stone lead to thousands in unexplained charges and two companies pretending to be independent while working together to drain your wallet.

Anyone willing to bet their finances on something as simple as a stray pebble should dare the risk with this company. Everyone else should avoid Sorglos Günstig Fahren and any affiliated AVAG dealership at all costs.

Kundenunfreundlichkeit

Beim Autokauf unseres RAV4 im Toyota-Autohaus D.I.T.

Be careful!

Do not use this company. Everything is fine if nothing goes wrong. If something goes wrong, you are in trouble.
Our car was hit by third parties (not our fault). They took the car away and for one month, they provided us with no replacement. They did not answer emails, did not answer the phone, and consistently told us to talk to the car dealership to solve our problem, even though our contract is with them, not the car dealership.
We finally received a replacement car which we had to go and pick up ourselves. The car had absolutely no petrol in it, and there was no indication light to show this, so the car nearly stopped on the road. It caused me a panic attack when I realised what was happening. The car was tiny (smaller than what we paid for) and manual (we paid for automatic). I message Herr Weßner multiple times about when we would have a suitable car and when we would receive reimbursement for the month of fees we paid but had no car, and also for the expenses we had to incur in that time (e.g. we had to use Miles etc, because we had no car). He didn't reply, then he stalled continuously, always telling us that we would hear from him in one or two days. Four months went by. We heard nothing from him. We still have not been reimbursed and now he is telling us that it is not possible to reimburse us (even though they have insurance and we
It took over three months for them to return our car to us. When they returned it, the service light was on. They had kept the car all that time, however they had failed to do the necessary car service (that is legally required every two years). When we told them this, they told US to take the car and do the service. Then, we received a fine from the Police because the car was on the street and it had not been serviced. They told us they would not cover the cost for the fine even though it was their fault.
I've never had such a shocking experience with a company. I will be cancelling my contract and I would suggest not taking the risk of working with them, because if something goes wrong, you will be the one paying the price.
