Very pleased! So I am new to the world of NAS. Watched the videos and learnings over the last few months and in making my decision on a QNAP (TS-453D-8G) to get me started. First purchase at Span, Select your NAS HDD with care! And SMR HDD not quite what you expect!
First time purchaser at Span.com. I chose them on the basis of availability of the product I was after (my regular vendor no longer stocks the HDD I use in my NAS, their alternative, which I tried, was an outright disaster and should not be let near a NAS!). Price was good but more importantly, the manufacturing date was quite recent (Mfr Nov'20,purchased Dec'20). I've purchased disks from other popular vendors where the disk turns out to be some years old already even though its come out of a sealed static bag! That doesn't bode well when checking the warranty status, but on this occasion the WDC product registration showed full warranty on the disk (albeit 'Out of region')
Upon installation the HDD worked as expected and whilst its early days in the 'infant mortality' stage of the 'bathtub' diagram I'm well happy with the purchase.
Oh, and the disk that caused so much aggravation... That was one based on new SMR technology: DO READ UP ON THESE NEWER DRIVES BEFORE GETTING ONE FOR YOUR NAS (10 - 14 days for a parity check anyone!)

These guys are incredible, I heard about them from their Youtube site, Lucas replied to my email within minutes, They are less than Amazon for the same products, great turnaround, delivery and the setup service was very useful.

QNAP NAS purchase
No problems with delivery or communications. Item arrived when expected and was in decent packaging to prevent damage to the NAS.
