After reading the reviews on here I feared the worse when the handle broke off on my 2yr old spade. I emailed Spear and Jacksons customer service with a couple of photos of the spade, within 2 days a new spade had been delivered at no cost to myself and no hassle at all.

Bought a Spear & Jackson cordless lawnmower S4042X2CR & after one summer of usage the rear roller broke so tried to get a replacement via their customer services & parts, kept on the phone in a queue of just 7 and waited for nearly 45 minutes until it was my turn but they then suddenly hung up saying that they was no one else available! What a complete waste of time and now left with a mower that cannot be used. Be warned!

Don't buy any of their products from Amazon, because when the trowel turns inward, as mine did, the manufacturer whom Amazon says to contact, fobs you off and says that Amazon will provide the return or replacement, and it's impossible to get any help. Lost out £23.99 for an item ordered in March 23 that has hardly been used and became defective in that time. Really disappointed in the manufacturer and would never buy from them again.

Zero stars more appropriate. Shocking customer service. I purchased Spear & Jackson cordless lawnmower via Argos. The item broke (twice). When trying to contact customer services on telephone number provided its almost impossible to get through. 6th in queue on 3 separate occasions for over 30 mins each time. Eventually got through to unhelpful person advising nothing they can do and go back to Argos. When asked for name of person she refused any details saying the number I had called wasn't Spear & Jackson, they were an I independent company but still would not tell me who they were! Bizarre and unprofessional. I will NEVER buy Spear & Jackson products again.

Purchased S&J garden fork several years ago after moving back to UK. First time used, two prongs snapped like twigs. Inspection showed unbelievably poor welding with no penetration between metals and heaps of ' slag ?' Schoolboy welding!
Sent info+pics to CS... several days later. " Fork identified as six years old therefore outside of warranty" This completely ignores the fact that it was PURCHASED 4 years ago and failed the very first time of use.
Only when i looked at the reviews did I see several very common threads and comments; that this is obviously a common failure with their product(s) - dozens listed, some replaced. Some not. Rubbish customer service.
I was stunned by the sheer number of negative/complaining reviews.
If you buy S&J, REMEMBER, they appear to warrant from manufacture date on products that ( according to the reviews) fail with monotonous regularity NOT purchased date !!!!
Dont bother with S&J garden tools !!!

I should have read the reviews before purchasing any of their products! It says on the decking and stain product that the colour is natural oak, but in fact is yellowish! They are crooks!

So annoyed, bought slate grey fence paint ,colour on lid and in oval was dark grey as I presume slate is ,opened tin to start painting and its light grey fuming what a waste of money 😤

Bought spear and Jackson brilliant white masonry paint from B&M Stores and it's absolutely rubbish, it looks okay when opened although it had a top layer of darkish watery looking stuff but when thoroughly mixed you
might as well put water on the walls. Total waste of money.

I have tried contacting the aftershaves team on numerous occasions due to a faulty battery.
1stly by e mail who were helpfull however could not help as the lawnmower and strimmer are made under licence by another company?? I then contacted the number 0345.... on the product booklet. After waiting in a queue for over 30 mins I get cut off. "No customer service staff available".
I bought Spear and Jackson due to the name expecting top quality only to get a cheap product. The handle of the mower is coming away from the body of the mower due to cheap parts and the battery won't charge.
Extremely disappointing product and aftersales.
Waste of money

Pray to God you don't need a spare battery for your lawnmower, I've contacted Spear and Jackson just to be past from piller to post for the last couple of days, ring these, email them, all to no avail. I will not be buying any powertool which the Spear and Jackson name on again, ever.

Goodlord and Complete RPI. I am using this software company, set up in 2018 and based .in Whitechapel, via Zoopla, associated with Abbots Letting agent in Cambridge to move into property in Cambridge. There have been 2 changes to move in date so far. I am waiting for confirmation of move in date of 18 May. Do I rely on instinct and gut?

Having bought S&J garden colours to repaint a couple of garden chairs I was sadly disappointed, having sanded and primed prior to painting, by the 4th coat of paint and still seeing visible primer, I finally gave up after coat number 6 and had to accept the rather sub standard results, having concluded there is more pigment in my mains water supply than in this paint, next time I will be using decent quality paint!

AVOID AVOID BOUGHT SPEAR AND JACKSON MASONRY PAINT PURE WHITE . IT TURNED MY HOUSE A HORRIBLE YELLOW . NO CUSTOMER SERVICE NO ADVICE ON HOW TO PUT IT RIGHT . AVOID

Rang Spear & Jackson Technical helpdesk, regarding a faulty electric quiet garden shredder,the blade adjusting knob is just spinning around, the agent offered no advice as to the problem, said they couldn't get that spare part, suggested Googling it!!

I have used Spear and Jackson's Path Patio and Decking cleaner for the first time this year....l have nothing but praise for it, it has brought my decking up like new. Having used other cleaners in the past this product is way ahead of the competition. I would have no reservations in recommending this product to anybody.

I ordered a replacement battery two weeks ago “ in stock “ it’s two weeks on and it’s still not been sent out

Dreadful company, used any excuse to avoid honouring warranty even though my hedge trimmer had only been used once. A disgrace to British industry, shame on you.

Emailed S&J customer service on the off chance that they would be able to help me out. All I needed was a seal set for a pump sprayer that I bought one year ago. I got a response this morning and they are sending out the spare parts straight away. Thanks to Jane....that's how customer service should be. 5 stars.

I've had to contact Spear and Jackson to obtain 2 new batteries, now have 4 batteries.
This is what you get when attempting to cut you grass, are 6yds x 4.5yds, half cut and a battery fully depleted, if you want 1 of their products save the price of fuel and just set light to your £350, you'll get as much use out of it!
Shame I can't attach photos of this devices pathetic performance.

Bought a garden "digging" fork last year from a high street store. It says guaranteed for 5 years so I expected good quality. I barely used it last year and just pulled it out again and done a couple of hours digging in soft soil and a prong snapped off without being in a struggle. I had no proof of purchase but emailed S&J anyway. They replied promptly saying my model is now obsolete but will send me a fork from the current range which I thought was fantastic 10/10 customer service. However, after looking at online reviews the fork they are sending me seems prone to snapping prongs in light use also so it looks like their products arent fit for purpose.
