Sports Direct nonexistent CS
Ordered 11 items on 25th Oct for Christmas presents, tried to exchange two items for bigger size(both items still on sale and available in store). Told in store couldn’t exchange as purchased online. Tried to download a returns label, unfortunately they say (web chat) it was out by 2 days of the extended returns policy. One very dissatisfied and disappointed grandma, who won’t be shopping with them again. Shame on you Sports Direct. Your customer service is nonexistent. I must say the lady in store was very apologetic and said they use to accept exchanges in store but wasn’t allowed anymore.
istmas Shopping earlier…
I started Christmas Shopping earlier this year, due to increase in pricing and cost of living pressure. I purchased and paid for items from sports direct £335 in September. Most people in my situation, low earnings and financial restraints start shopping early. Normally around the period upcoming to Christmas period, retailers extend the returns date till end of January. I spoke to a sports direct customer service on chat and explained that some of the items I purchased for Christmas are large and I would like to swap them for a size lower. The agent informed me that they don't do swaps and the best thing to do is return the items, which amounted to over £100.
He informed me that I will have to pay for returning the items and had to send them back with tracking. I paid £9 and returned all items, which still had all the tags and original packaging they came in.
Today I received an email from Sports direct informing me that my returns are now out of date and they will not refund me or credit my account. They also informed me that they are returning the items back to me. I checked my sports direct account and it shows ti's year alone, I have spent over £600 with them. I replied asking to show some compassion, not everyone can afford to spend money like this in one go. Some us are on low wages and people are struggling to make ends meet. Many people have started buying early for Christmas due to the cost of living. I attached a copy of the chat I had with the agent advising that I can return the items. I also informed them that I was going to spend the credit / refund with them for the same items a size smaller. I told them I will contact everyone from trading standards, media etc, if they don't resolve this matter and will also close my account. Nobody can afford to lose over £100, when we are struggling to survive. I also told them that they don't give a toss about people / customers struggles as long as they profit it from us. They showed no compassion and have put profits before people and the comununity, who are just trying to get through their financial struggles. I was going to replace the items from sports direct, so they aren't exactly out of pocket. I'm worried and stressed about the money I have lost and also upset for the person I bought the items for... Sports direct is a dishonest company and I will never buy from them again. Basic scammers. I had till end of of January to return Christmas items, yet they have refused me and are returning the goods back to me.
Delivered used item
I ordered Nike Court Royale2BE Ld09 Triple White shoes and received a pair that were obviously used and the box was damaged /torn apart. Not sure how this could happen as their website states that they carefully inspect all returns. I was looking forward to these shoes but now feel completely disappointed and I won't be making any new online orders again.
I also have photos, I wish I could attach them to this review.
Was told if I spent £100 i get £20 to…
Was told if I spent £100 i get £20 to spend for free , however off course it's was a con and I never got this £20 voucher it was all a fake money making scheme to con people over Christmas period , well done sports direct you absolute thieving cons 👏
Appalling customer service and…
Appalling customer service and dismissive staff and manager in store at Truro, bought tracksuit bottoms end of November, asked wife to purchase couple more pairs in different colours for Xmas, exact same tracksuit bottoms in charcoal and black bought a few days before xmas, tried on Xmas day, black pair one leg really tight other leg okay, charcoal pair bottoms of legs extremely tight, yet supposed to be same size as in-store purchase of first pair in November, returned to store day after boxing day, when approached first person on till with wife and older son (25) was asked are those items for return, answered yes, very abruptly told wrong till exchanges are over there, muttered what is wrong with people, to clarify one line no signs for returns etc, train your staff to communicate or at least put up appropriate signage above your tills, and to keep there opinions to themselves or not to be heard by customers, we had not spoken to the gentleman in question before hand only to acknowledge we had returns.
Spoke to a young lady said we needed to return for a refund, before we had a chance to explain our reason was categorically told no refunds, only exchange or credit, we tried to explain what the issue was, to be interrupted at every opportunity that sizing is not an issue and store policy is no refunds unless faulty, I told her that consumer rights act in this case overules your store policy due to incorrect sizing so item not as described based on pair bought in November, again interrupted at every opportunity and she immediately called for the manager.
Manager arrived and spoke to wife and son, when I tried to speak was told I am discussing this with the customer, my reply to this and my wife and son is that we are the customer, I tried again to explain the differences in size to be told this is just hearsay, and he would be completely aware of any sizing issues, I even offered to show him the differences there and then in-store by showing him the pair from November and the 2 differences from the pairs bought just before xmas, which he declined again mentioning this is not an Sports Direct issue, more of his exacts words "a you issue", I informed him under the consumers rights act this is not as described and not fit for purpose, as there is obviously an in consistency in there manufacturing, was then told we either take the exchange or credit we have no basis for a refund as the items are not faulty, clearly they are if you bothered to listen and let me prove to the manager factual evidence in my hand at the time , which I replied no we are not trawling through countless items to find pairs that are the same, so you leave me no choice to take a credit. We have also visited the St Austell branch with credit note to find a similar inconsistency in the same tracksuit bottoms, so Sports Direct get your act together and do the appropriate quality control checks, and train your staff on what the consumer rights act are, in this particular case with evidence in my hand consumer rights act overules your store policy.
I ordered a pair of boots size 9.5 but only got one
I ordered a pair of boots size 9.5. When they arrived 1 boot was size 9.5 the other was size 10. Reading about returns, the site suggests contacting customer service. I looked for a customer service phone number but there isn't one. I had to pay £5.00 to return this item, which is totally wrong as it was there mistake.
The last time I use this terrible company.
Disgusting never again will I shop here…
Disgusting never again will I shop here and never ever work for them they have no respect for their staff or their customers awful company they should be banned for their mal practice! Do not work here stear well clear they do not respect you!
I would say even with minus
I would say even with minus. My parcel was not delivered and Marked as delivered and I escalated that to citizen advice, still did not get any appropriate compensation.
Worst customer service ever to deal with any issue, not willing to help, and get the response after ages
Wrong Item Delivered
Recently visited a store and asked for a pair of rugby boots in size 7. Assistant looked them up on a tablet and asked us to wait while she got them. Credit card in hand as she approached with a box - “Out of stock but we have got these”, - a different brand/colour. OK, arguably giving us a choice, which we declined. Ordered a pair on line the same day (LOW STOCK), £5 delivery, box waiting on the doorstep 4 days later. Very good we thought. Correct size, correct brand, COMPLETELY DIFFERENT BOOTS. This is sharp practice, not a human error. Spent 10mins answering a bot’s questions - then chatbot closed (possibly 6.00pm). Very disappointed grandson and annoyed grandparents. Never again. Very short-sighted strategy.
No clue about valuing customers
Absolute shambles of a shop. Especially ordering online. Ordered first item, never came. Ordered it again, never came. Went to order a third time and they had sold out of the size I needed. Had to reorder the size above, this time ordered it to the shop. Was told it was delivered. Went to pick it up. They couldn’t find it. Went two day later, someone found it. It was too big. Had to go back….i had to pay £4.99 for the privilege of being messed around. Spoke to them on web chat but they said it was my problem that had to be resolved at my own expense. Messed up delivery meant it wasn’t here in time for son’s birthday. No good will gesture just a ‘we don’t care, it’s your problem’ approach to customer service.
If I could rate 0 I would, disgusting customer service
I genuinely think this is ridiculous. I ordered an XL based on their size guide, far too big. Ordered a L, still too big. So I went into my local store to simply exchange for a M, only to be told they don’t stock the item anywhere nearby and, apparently, items bought online can’t be returned in-store.
I then contacted Sports Direct’s online chat and had to wait 25 minutes just to be connected to an agent, only to be told there was nothing they could do. No apology, no sympathy, and certainly no solution. According to them, they “sent the correct items” and their size guides are “clear” (they are absolutely not, they led me to buy the wrong sizes twice). No flexibility, no goodwill gesture, and not even the option to return everything in one parcel.
To get the correct size, I was told I needed to spend another £4.99 to order the M online, plus £4.99 each to return the first two items. That’s £25 wasted on postage and returns alone, all because their sizing information is inaccurate.
The staff member in store was also rude and dismissive, making zero effort to help. Honestly, as useful as a chocolate teapot.
Between the delivery fees, return fees, inaccurate size guides, long wait times, and completely unhelpful customer service, I will never order from Sports Direct again.
Never Again!
Bought 2 pairs of hiking boots from them during Black Friday week. Took a week to arrive with minimal updates. Postage cost 7 or 8 quid I think. Tried on the two sets of boots. The adidas ones were fine but the Regatta ones are badly stitched and extremely uncomfortable, they cut the ankle off me. I went to do a return of the Regatta ones and you can’t bring them to the local sportsdirect, I have to post them to England. I also have to arrange and pay for the postage myself even though I put down that they are faulty. This is a load of nonsense designed to stop people from returning items. I will never buy anything from sportsdirect again. Other online stores such as very and amazon make returns easy, Sportsdirect make it a nightmare and should be investigated by the consumer watchdog.
Plastic bag Charge
Couldn't believe they charge 50p for a plastic carrier bag and when googled to see what charity they support with the money they dont it all goes to their profit.
Ordered items on the 20th October 25…
Ordered items on the 20th October 25 it’s 30th November still haven’t received them. Customer service is shocking, my last email with them was to get a full refund which was ignored.
I would give 0 stars if I could
I would give 0 stars if I could. Made a large purchase for Christmas. Received completely battered boxes, with all items just falling around inside the bag. Contacted customer service, to be told that it's not their problem, unless the items themselves were damaged. So I am expected to give my child unboxed trainers, underwear and a PlayStation controller for Christmas. Absolutely shocking company!
SCAMMERS!
Ordered 4 shoes and only 3 came and they keep saying they have investigated and it was packed by their warehouse and safely delivered by the courier. Please do not order from them. They are scammers!!! I have read several feedback with same issue as me. This store needs to shut down.
Worst service in online and store
2 items €95 missing claim denied
2 items worth €95 missing from my parcel and even after multiple contacts via chat and email with SportsDirect, they keep saying that they can confirm all items have been correctly dispatched from their warehouse.
The parcel arrived to me in Ireland through An Post in a brown paper bag and taped with normal scotch tape. It could have easily been opened and retaped and very unlikely you'd notice.
I'm trying to get my money back through my bank now and for sure will never order again from them.
Awful returns policy and terrible customer service
So unbeknownst to me sports directs return policies are you can only have a refund if you purchased online but if you purchased in store you can only get a credit note which I find a little bit strange and I've never had that in my 57 years, but what is actually even worse is the inept customer service that refuses to help you and just returns you back to the store where you come from, I can comfortably say I will never ever use sports direct again and I will encourage as many people as I possibly can to do the same
