A horrendous experience with this dealership. Read on before you buy.

I bought an £83,000 Range Rover from Land Rover Wolverhampton. Within 24 hours I reported an abnormal rattle/rumble, and within 5 days I rejected the vehicle.

Since then, I’ve been met with one argument after another as to why my consumer rights supposedly don’t apply
.
First, the Used Car Sales Manager claimed it was a business purchase and my consumer rights were therefore reduced. That was incorrect and was later retracted in writing.

Then I was told the car had been “fixed” — apparently the noise was caused by loose trim around the centre console. I wasn’t prepared to accept an £83,000 vehicle shedding interior trim in normal use, and it raised an obvious question I still have no answer to: what had happened to this car before it was sold to me? I maintained my rejection.

Next, I was told the 14-day cancellation provisions did not operate as I believed, because I had physically collected and used the vehicle — despite the deal having been agreed remotely beforehand.

I was then told the fault was “not a major mechanical defect,” and that the 30-day right to reject a faulty vehicle therefore did not apply either. As far as I can establish, no such distinction exists in the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

I was also told that reporting a fault does not create an automatic right to reject, and that the dealer should be given a “reasonable opportunity to investigate and remedy” the issue. That sounds reasonable until you look at the law: within the first 30 days, the choice between rejection and repair belongs to the buyer, not the seller.

Meanwhile, the car remains with the dealership and I continue to incur finance charges while Black Horse/Land Rover Financial Services deals with my complaint.

What I find most disappointing is the apparent effort spent finding technical reasons not to unwind the sale, rather than simply standing behind an £83,000 vehicle that developed a fault almost immediately.

I paid a premium to buy from a main Land Rover dealer because I expected better. In my case, the premium was not worth it. Be very careful before dealing with this dealership.

The dealership was easy to book with, efficient when I took my car in despite being earlier than the allotted time and returned the car with the work fully explained and completed.

After collecting my car after a major service within 1 mile of driving the restricted performance light came on I had collect my car at the end of the day on a Friday and they had left and closed for the weekend. Took car back and brakes then failed. Their response to both instances “unfortunate timing” the brakes there report loose valve and air lock they serviced the brakes. RP fault told me I need to change a filter which the did for £315 guess what RP light came on the next day. They refuse to accept any fault and again state “unfortunate timing’ shocking company

I have been a loyal Range Rover customer since 2005 and I can not believe how they treat their customers. i would not buy another land rover product. especially from Stratstone Wolverhampton. no one has called me back after 1 month and still nothing!

Having bought a Discovery Sport from Stratstone Land Rover Wolverhampton last October which we are really pleased with incidentally, I needed some help accessing the Dashcam from my phone. I contacted Rachel Pitt who dealt with me previously with my purchases and she kindly organised for a technician to help. This he did quickly and efficiently and also helped with another query I had. I have always been impressed with the kindness and courtesy I have experienced at Stratstone and the friendliness and thoughtfulness they have shown to both my husband and myself. A special mention goes to Rachel particularly but also to Sally and Celeste.
I would have no hesitation at all in recommending Stratstone to family and friends.

All members of staff polite. Ready to help no matter how small the problem.

We had great service from Kam when we bought our evouge which we pi ked up saturday.
Nothing was too much trouble answered all our queries.
Friendly helpful polite.

Vicky is always amazing and I cannot thank her enough. On this occasion, though, I have to give special mention to Sally on reception. When I visited on Wednesday 10th of June she was so kind, caring and supportive. She provided breakfast and drinks, and even went out of her way to get me lunch. I cannot thank her enough for everything she did for me.
