Will crash your vehicle and lie about it

I've purchased four cars in as many years from Sunset Ford totaling over 250k, but my recent experience has left me extremely disappointed. During my last visit, they managed to scrap my bumper, which is an unacceptable level of carelessness. Considering my loyalty as a repeat customer, I expected much better service. This incident has seriously undermined my confidence in their ability to handle even the most basic tasks correctly; as of yet they have failed to make things right. After ignoring me repeatedly and blocking me on social media when I left a review the decided to send a measly 300 bucks. I decided to take and get a quote from a shop, the quote to fix their damage was 700$. Fortunately I planned on replacing with a Ranch Hand. This dealerships service manager is a joke, they lost a repeat customer over trying to save a dollar. I right this while I’m currently shopping for an F250. Fortunately there are plenty of different Ford dealerships who not only can’t believe the actions of Sunset Ford, but are also more than happy to get a new customer.

How my Ford From Sunset Ford In Sumner Almost Killed My Children and I

Was a 5 when I left the lot on by birthday (May 8th 2020) - now let me provide the "0 Star" review less 3 months later...
= = = = = = = = == = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = =
EXTREMELY UNHAPPY FORD CUSTOMER (PICTURES TAKEN). I have had my “brand new” Ford flex 2018 since May 8th, had bought it for my teens who are coming into their driving ages on my actual birthday this year. THIS BRAND NEW VEHICLE has had TONS of issues fixed already. The latest issue almost caused my preteen daughter, 15yr old son, and I to almost get into a major wreck as the transmission line caused us to break down over 40 miles away from the dealer I purchased it from as we were merging onto the freeway doing 60 mi per hour from downtown Bellevue Wa onto I-405 (which is a difficult merge by Overlake hospital). The worst part isn’t that I broke down in this Brand new car with ~200 miles when I rolled of the lot, it wasn’t even the fact that I had to pay for towing to the dealership, it wasn’t the fact that my kids were terrified as this unreliable vehicle felt to us as though we almost lost our lives just like we lost their oldest teen brother last year, it’s the fact the dealer’s GM and/or Service manager have NOT returned my calls after informing the service agent Tammy at sunset Ford (253-321-5772) as to the horrible experience(s) this vehicle has put my family and I through due to its unreliability in less than 3 months. After multiple calls today (and Tammy informing me that the GM Robert “so an so” was to call me back to make all my experiences right or just take the vehicle back altogether and pay me my trade in value) no one has STILL RETURNED my calls and it’s been 6 total days at the dealers lot. I mean ZERO communication or update from their GM. So now my first payment during COVID is due, I don’t even have the vehicle, and my overall confidence in Ford, and Sunset Ford is essential shot. I feel trapped, angry, and sad for my children as we sit here in ambiguity (and disappointment in what was supposed to be an amazing first time car purchasing experience that has gone to hell). The worst part about the lack of professionalism by the dealer is their lack of follow up has left such an extreme bad taste in my mouth that I ultimately wish the ~$100,000 since 2016 spent on Ford vehicles had NEVER OCCURED!

Issue:
The transmission line disconnected at exactly 3342 miles of usage.

8/1/2020 UPDATE: ABSOLUTELY WILL NEVER buy from Sunset Ford OR ANOTHER FORD again....I MEAN EVER AFTER BEING LIED TOO (AGAIN) BY JIM on Sunset Fords “team” who told me he would search all over the country (meaning obtain from another dealer lot or location) to find me a new Flex but could not find any available in inventory due to Flex’s being discontinued. Long story short there are plenty of limited editions available that could have had Sunset and Ford make it right but after multiple calls with him he said there was nothing around to get to my family and I. Well clearly from the screenshots (which I have pics from "again" or you can do a simple search on 2018 New or 2019 Flex's) via cars.com there are plenty.

AGAIN as mentioned my other Ford (also happy to share my pictures) was over $60,000 bought 3.5yrs ago will be my, my family’s, friends, CO-workers, or anyone else I can tell this story to my VERY LAST purchase based on the agreed upon options to resolve this matter (which I was bold faced lied too by Jim as you can see from just a handful of images below).

FINALLY TO ADD INSULT TO INJURY the had the audacity to return my vehicle after driving it for over many miles away with only 21miles left in my gas

One of the worst car buying experiences I have endured

Well, I hate writing negative reviews, but after giving every benefit of doubt and being way more patient than I should have, I feel other need to let others know how you may be treated if you do business here. I see many great reviews and I really wanted to be another one, but such was not the case for me...

I was assisted by a salesman named Aron on a 2018 F150. Things started out good enough for me to drive 2 hours north from Portland to buy the truck. Aron was helpful and answered all my calls and text promptly during the deal setup.

Issue #1 - The price was good, then they hit me with a really high interest and would only lower it if I bought 3500 dollar warranty??!! I hate these games. but no biggie, I'm over that.

issue #2 - the day after I drive my $42k dollar truck home I realize that on cold starts, it sound like there is rocks in the engine and the front suspension was damaged. Their response was, oh, its under warranty just take it in at your inconvenience. I guarantee they knew the problem was there and sold the truck that way. I have had to take it in to the dealer and wait 3 weeks for back-ordered parts and have gone through a nightmare trying to get my new awesome truck just to normal operating condition. no willingness to help from Aron or Sunset Ford.

Issue # 3 - When I bought the truck one of the very expensive key fobs had come up missing. No problem said Aron. We will find it or get you another one... he even offered to have a locksmith go down to the Portland area to have it done! wow! Well after almost two months, 30 to 40 calls to Aron, dealership managers, and anyone at the dealership who would listen, I have still not received what I was promised.

Please note that I have called LITERALLY, and no exaggeration 40+ times, multiple times a week. Aron blatantly started ignoring my calls and texts. Every time I call, I am told that managers are helping new customers! IT GOT TO THE POINT I HAD TO LIE AND SAY I WAS A NEW CUSTOMER INTERESTED IN A NEW CAR TO GET THROUGH TO ANYONE...

Once you sign the paperwork, YOU ARE INVISIBLE TO THEM!

All that said, and even though I still have not seen a resolution, I do want to say that the last couple times I called, I talked to the internet sales manager Nicole which has been very professional and seem to be working hard to help. I am thankful to her.

The best buying experience we’ve ever encountered!

We have had several horrible experiences with other dealers. This was the smoothest, no pressure experience that we have ever had. Aron is the best car salesman we've ever had. He's very real and personable. He worked very hard to accommodate us and sat and talked to us to make sure we were comfortable with the buying experience. We will most definitely buy another car from them and refer our friends and family to them. Thank you Sunset Ford we love our 2016 Ford Escape titanium!
