The new setup is great
The new setup is great. I took my son & some friends & they bowled played darts did Karaoke & laser tag. The food they had was really good especially the pizza's & the staff were really friendly & helpful.

Staff really helpful. New layout is very good although the card for the machine is a little confusing.

Our lane wasn’t ready & they said we’d…
Our lane wasn’t ready & they said we’d need to wait 20 minutes and that once we saw our name on the screen we could start. 40 minutes later still no name on the screen. Had to go queue up to ask someone what was going on. They’d forgotten. So 45 mins later than scheduled left us rushed & late for the cinema afterwards. They brought the food over with no prior warning whilst bowling. It was cold and disgusting. No room to put anything or sit comfortably and eat. Plus who wants to eat pizza and chips out of a basket with no knife or fork when your hands have been in bowling balls. Gross. Last but not least, it’s just too loud. I get there’s a lot going on but every machine was competing with the other to be the loudest. It’s so uncomfortable.

Visited for the new soft play with my 18m grand daughter. Go careful as they are understandably very very tight on the height restrictions and she was too tall for the tots area but wasn’t old enough for the older area. They couldn’t return our money as they felt we could have gone in but the reality was she was too small to compete with older children on a busy Sunday. Our fault! Should have checked but the staff were lovely and the equipment great if she had been smaller or older!

Birthday Laser Tag
I booked online for myself and friends to play laser tag on Saturday 5th for my birthday. I only saw the option to book and play for an hour at £192 but it was really easy to book. We arrived and unfortunately were waiting for a couple friends to arrive still, so we were a little late starting but the staff behind the desk were helpful and allowed this. Sadly I did also have a couple friends drop out, this was also okay with staff. I was so very grateful and thankful for these issues being okay and us still being able to go ahead and play as planned. We all found the recording quite difficult to hear but the guy was helpful answering the questions afterwards. I do however think that it should be looked into for hearing clarity. We all thoroughly enjoyed the game and had a GREAT time, we would definitely go again it was so FUN !!! The only real downside I will say is I had paid for an hour and thanks to one of my friends being on it, she spotted we had only played for half an hour. When I managed to catch the guy again to mention this, he apologised and thought we only paid for half an hour and swiftly had us back in for a second game; I was grateful for this. I'm glad my friend noticed though as I would've paid way more for way less had she not and I didn't see 30 minutes as a weekend option online, so just thought the hour went fast. I would also note maybe extra air-conditioning would be a good shout in the game as we were sweating so much, but we were equally all playing around like maniacs haha Definitely glad I wasn't wearing heavy clothing. All in all though good experience and would recommend "]

New soft play area
We visited the new soft play area then bowling afterwards. The new soft play area is extremely hot. We didn’t last the full 2 hrs we were booked for. Is there anyway of getting air-con installed?
I understand the reasoning for the separate areas but as a parent that has twins who are 8 months old and a 5 year old it was difficult to manage as I couldn’t leave my twins on their own but my 5 year old wanted me to play with him and he got very upset that he couldn’t come in and just sit with his sisters. Would there be a rule that if the parents are sat in there that the older siblings could come in if they remained calm?
It was also a long wait for the doors to be opened to get in and out as there was only 1 person at the desk. I don’t think we’d be coming back to the soft play area.
The bowling and arcades were great on the other hand we will come back for that.

Small issues with Tenpin
I prefer to do bowling with bowling shoes on as it helps you to slide. I'm not too keen on pins with string but can understand why as it helps to set them up quicker. I personally found the light show on the lane quite off putting but I am quite old and I suppose it's quite appealing to the younger audience.

Great place for adults & kids
Just been re-furbished which has greatly improved the place. Booked 2 games of bowling online which was easy. staff were friendly. The cafe area looked very nice although we didn't make use of it.

1st visit since the refurbishment of Tenpin York and what a vast improvement! The place is now a clean, vibrant welcoming space. Friendly, efficient staff at check in and as a family we loved the bowling and the arcade.
