Truely terrible service... No way to speak to a person, no one gets back to you on their chat function...
Having logged in, and been verified to bid, and receiving a confirmation email from the-saleroom, I was able to enter the auction I wanted to attend, and could follow the proceedings on the screen... BUT the system would not allow me to bid. The button to bid said I had to 'Log in'. II rang the auction house who said it was nothing to do with them and The-Saleroom provide no way getting some help...
This system is a failure.

I had yesterday a horrendous experience with the salesroom platform. Whilst logging in to a life auction with my iPhone the platform automatically placed a bid on the item during loading of the page.

I am a seasoned IT professional and I can confidently say this was a malfunction ( I spot a software bug when I see one straight away).

So far nothing wrong we all know software is never safe regardless what everyone tries to tell you.

Contacting the salesroom I got a rebuffing answer that beggars believe:
“ Dear Peter,

Thank you for contacting us.

When bidding at auction you enter a legally binding contract to buy should you be the winning bidder. The final decision regarding the sale of the lot and the status of your invoice will be at the discretion of the auctioneer.

It is always best to contact the auctioneer as soon as possible, to explain the matter with them directly and to inform them that you did not intend to bid on lot 829 from the Mitchells 19 August 2021 Live Auction.

Unfortunately they do not take their technical aspect of the platform serious.

Very sadly this sort of behaviour has become over the last 18 months common place when everyone is “working from home” (more like from car parks outside the shopping moles) and the level of care has simply deteriorated.
