I had an instructor called Yasiin Mahmoud very very bad he could not speak English and was on his oh one half the time,do not book with him he was very rude as well

Really bad experience with zahid ali automatic driving instructor, he gave me 40 hours lessons and then just disappeared, unprofessional behaviour so disappointed… always breaking my confidence by saying from day 1 that you’re never going to get ready for your test… please never book him..

Horrible experience, so hard to work the website or app! Wr have booked 10 lessons for £480 and we can not book any lessons! So disappointing and frustrating!! Im going to request a refund

I had an extremely disappointing experience with driving instructor Ian Pennington, and although I have now received my money back, I feel it is important to share my experience so that others can make an informed decision.

I paid £270 upfront for driving tuition and arrangements for my practical driving test. Despite confirming our plans, Ian waited until approximately 10:30pm the night before my test to inform me that he did not consider me ready and would not be taking me.

I fully appreciate that driving instructors have a responsibility to assess whether someone is safe and ready for their test. My issue was never with that responsibility, but with the appalling communication, attitude and complete lack of consideration shown throughout the situation.

At the end of our previous lesson, Ian had told me, "See you back here at 9am." He knew I would be travelling by Uber, yet never clearly communicated that our agreed meeting would no longer take place.

I arrived the following morning, only to discover that he was already conducting another driving lesson during the time I had paid for.

What followed was equally disappointing. Rather than acknowledging how poorly the situation had been handled, I found Ian's responses dismissive, arrogant and unnecessarily confrontational. When I challenged the retention of payment for lessons that had not been provided, his initial response was effectively to tell me to pursue legal action.

In my opinion, this demonstrated a remarkable lack of professionalism, accountability and basic customer care.

The situation also resulted in my missing my practical driving test, with my theory certificate expiring and further disruption to my plans.

Following considerable correspondence and repeated attempts to resolve the dispute, I have now received my money back. However, the fact that a refund was eventually provided does not excuse the way I was treated or the unnecessary stress and inconvenience caused.

My complaint is no longer about money. It is about professionalism, communication, attitude and the standards customers should reasonably expect from someone entrusted with preparing them for an important examination.

Driving lessons are expensive, and learners place considerable trust in their instructors. That trust should be met with respect, clear communication and a willingness to take responsibility when things go wrong.

Unfortunately, my experience with Ian fell well below those expectations.

Based on my personal experience, I would not recommend his services.

AA driving school is wonderful. I've tried many instructors in the past who would always take advantage by talking for ages rather than letting you drive but my driving instructor Simon Haile was amazing; he actually let me drive for most of the lesson, we did many test routes and I passed with just one minor. Thank you Simon!

Had John as my driving instructor for the Winchester Centre. I passed in first attempts
He was extremely patient with me and explained all the rules in simple language. We went over everything and he went over all my questions again and again until I felt confident to take the test.

No good me and my husband both had a bad experience and my instructor lost my confidence shouted at me. My husband had instructor he didn’t show up he owe us £100 didn’t get the money back

I passed with Morte Safari as my driving instructor. I cant thank him enough for his patience and his belief in me as a student. He knows how to teach and I had an incredible learning experience. He gave me the confidence in my driving and knew when I would be ready to take my test months in advance and he was not wrong. I would highly recommen him as an instructor.

I just passed my driving test on my first attempt with only 4 minor faults. I want to say a big thank you to Morte Safari, out of the 3 instructors I’ve had he’s the best one you can tell he cares about his students and genuinely wants them to pass every time. He’s very patient and makes sure you are 100% prepared for your test. For a highly experienced instructor his rates are very reasonable at £40/h and you are definitely getting your moneys worth. Would recommend him every time and AA driving school!

Prince was my driving instructor. Prince is the best driving instructor I have ever met, he has thought me how to regain control and focus when driving. I passed my driving test today and I started to speak to myself the way he instructs me in our lessons, that has helped me reduce my anxiety and stress to focus on finishing the route safely and confidently.

I am so grateful for the patience and adaptability he has given me throughout. I truly hope others can benefit from his many qualities and wise leadership to not only become confident drivers but also respectful individuals in society. I sometimes struggle with my ADHD and being neurodivergent but Prince is the best instructor for brains like mine.

Prince you have offered me the confidence to earn my license as well the confidence I needed to face life. You are the blessing I needed this week.

Thank you so much 🙏🏼

I passed my driving test today on my first attempt with only 3 minor faults, and I couldn't have done it without Arefah Shakib! She is an incredible instructor—extremely patient, professional, and amazing at building confidence behind the wheel. She made me feel completely prepared and calm. I highly recommend her to anyone looking to pass!

very bad experience , i get the formal email cancel the driving lesson that day, but still charges for 2 hours lesson because they said they text message to me can ongoing the lesson , the is ridiculous , never use again

Steven Armstrong AA driving instructor Manchester, shouted at me scared me, constantly got in my face and forcefully taking the wheel sometimes slapping my hand in the process. i felt belittled and scared to drive and he made these feeling worse. he would ask questions and disrespectfully say 'eh' because he knows you don't know them and wants you to feel bad about your lack of knowledge as if we are supposed to already know how to drive. Do not book with this man. my experience was years ago and i can only write this now. ive been left with years of driving trauma from this man. thankfully i learned with my father and eventually passed. i hope no one has to be put through the same thing Steven Armstrong put me through.

My instructor was Danial Konofalski. After my first two lessons, he repeatedly cancelled lessons. On several occasions, he messaged me on the actual day of the lesson to say that he would not be coming. He would then reschedule the lesson himself, only for the rearranged lesson to be cancelled again.

The reason I was repeatedly given was that another lesson had been cancelled, so he would not be able to come to mine.

I discussed my driving test date with him before booking it, and he agreed that the date would be suitable. However, just two days after I booked the test, he messaged me asking me to pay for additional hours. When I said I didn't want to pay for more hours and wanted to complete the lessons I had already paid for, he then told me that he would no longer be teaching me because he was switching to an automatic car.

At this point, I had my test in around 30 days and had only received around 6 hours of lessons. I was left having to look for another instructor at very short notice.

I also still had one lesson remaining, and there was confusion over the remaining credit/refund. They won't give me refund nor last lesson.

Overall, the repeated cancellations and the change from manual to automatic so close to my test left me in a very difficult position. I would strongly recommend making sure you have a reliable instructor who can commit to your lessons before booking your test.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Instructor

I’m delighted to say I passed my driving test today! My AA instructor, Rafiq Richards was absolutely fantastic , patient, professional, and always explained everything clearly and calmly. He built my confidence from day one and made every lesson constructive. I felt fully prepared and ready. I couldn’t have done it without him, highly recommended to anyone learning to drive.

Passed with Morte as my driving instructor! I’d recommend him as he’s a very good teacher and he believes in his students.

A big thank you to him for all his help and support!

Passed my driving test first time, had two amazing instructors Antonio Silva who taught me the basics and Freddie Asare who taught me so much to be able to pass first try. These two instructors are so nice and professional I would recommend everyone.

I highly recommend Dalal Awwad from AA Driving School! They were so patient, calm, professional and helpful through every lesson. They really helped build up my confidence on the road and I passed my automatic test first time with ease! Absolutely amazing teaching and support!

I am asking anyone think of learning to drive please stay away from AA driving school they are a con and robbers the instructors are very cheeky the company itself is very dishonest they hold on students money and refuse to return it after thier instructor fail to turn up, when he do he always 100% late every time , he always going to the petrol station and even tell the student to put petrol in his car , plenty bad experience. I paid for my wife to learn to drive with them and this her experience i see for myself he is always late

I have recently been doing driven lessons with Michael McGregor In newcastle area. I've had a few instructors within the year and he has been the best. So patient and relaxed and today I passed my test with him. I would 1000% recommend him if looking to do lessons. So down to earth and goes the extra mile to get you were you need to be.
