The Appliance Depot was founded in 2008 by a dedicated team who have over 33 years of experience within the industry. We have seen welcome and unexpected growth over the years and are now operating from two different sites within Leicestershire, with a total warehouse capacity of over 35,000 square foot, holding over 5,000 products for sale. We sell products from some of the most recognised and loved brands, including, but not limited to: Neff, Bosch, Siemens and Smeg. We specialise in selling graded products bought directly from the manufacturers themselves. These products may not come in the original packaging, they may be ex-display, damaged, end of the line or cosmetically imperfect. However, we pride ourselves on being honest and transparent with our customers, and you can find an explanation on each listing of why that item is graded. From the moment we answer the phone or respond to your email, you are at the heart of what we do. We strive to answer all queries and provide as much information to the customer as possible, in order for them to make a well-informed decision. Our dedicated team pride themselves on providing an exceptional level of customer service, from answering queries, to showing people around the warehouse, and going above and beyond when delivering.

Amazing prices for "GRADED" [hardly a mark on it] saved £600 on Fridge Freezer

Amazing prices for "GRADED" items we bought Smeg American Fridge Freezer saving £600 to replace our 12 year old one and after a tiny bit of cleaning and touching up it's indistinguishable in quality. We were lucky that delivery to our area was only a 3 day wait and arrived when they said. I was shocked to see so many bad reports as my experience was that the calls and e-mails to customer service were polite, prompt and helpful.
Maybe I was lucky so far........
The appliance has been registered with SMEG warranty online.
LEFT TO STAND FOR 24 HOURS AS SUGGESTED AND IT'S WORKING FINE - A LOT QUIETER THAN THE SAME SMEG IT REPLACED !

Very impressed!

This company had exactly the right type of sink “Smeg”we wanted for our kitchen refurb, it also comes with a mixer tap and waste kit.
Having spent the last month on line doing research I don’t believe any other company could supply a similar product any where near the price. Then you get an actual phone call to arrange delivery to suit you, lot to be said for a nice personal touch of customer service.
30/6 got the sink yesterday exactly as described and the quality for the price was amazing, it was so well packaged for delivery I don’t think an elephant could have damaged it. Five stars all round!!!

I have deliberately avoided posting a…

I have deliberately avoided posting a public review for a considerable period in the hope that this matter could be resolved privately and professionally. Unfortunately, after more than a year of chasing, I feel it is important to share my experience.

I reported a fault with my De Dietrich coffee machine whilst it was still within its warranty period, a fact that has been confirmed in writing by the warranty provider, Gowan Home. Despite this, I have been informed that the warranty will not be honoured.

What is particularly disappointing is that Gowan Home also confirmed in writing that, due to De Dietrich entering liquidation, they were prepared to reimburse The Appliance Depot for the cost of the appliance if a refund was provided to me. This proposed resolution was also ignored.

Over the past year, I have spent countless hours sending emails, making telephone calls and repeatedly chasing for updates and a resolution. I was informed at one stage that the owner, John, was on annual leave for over a month and that nothing could be progressed in his absence. More recently, I have been advised that he is recovering from an operation and again, no meaningful progress has been made.

Throughout this process there has been a constant pattern of dismissal, ignored emails, unreturned telephone calls and a refusal to engage with the complaint in any meaningful way.

I also hold recordings of telephone conversations which, in my opinion, demonstrate an unprofessional, dismissive and at times inappropriate manner in dealing with a genuine customer complaint.

My concern is not simply the faulty appliance, but the level of after-sales support and the apparent disregard for consumer rights. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, consumers are entitled to expect goods to be of satisfactory quality and for complaints to be dealt with fairly and reasonably. A warranty claim raised within the warranty period should not simply be disregarded because delays occurred after the claim had already been made.

I am sharing this review so that other consumers can make an informed decision and carefully consider the level of customer service and after-sales support they may receive should something go wrong with their purchase.

Even now, I remain open to a fair and amicable resolution.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Service and Outstanding Customer Support

I recently purchased a NEFF N70 combi oven and warming drawer from The Appliance Depot, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service I received. The items were professionally packaged, and the delivery was first class from start to finish.
As the oven was being installed in a new kitchen a couple of months after purchase, I didn’t realise until later that the handle and trim were stainless steel rather than the graphite finish, I had ordered. I contacted the company and spoke with Polly from Customer Services.

Polly was incredibly friendly, understanding, and quick to offer a practical solution. She arranged for a replacement handle and side décor to be ordered directly from NEFF and delivered to my home—just in time for the installation. This made it very easy to swap the parts, avoiding any delays or inconvenience.

Now that both the oven and warming drawer are installed, I’m absolutely delighted. I’d like to thank The Appliance Depot for their professional service, and especially Polly for resolving the issue so efficiently and pleasantly.

Highly recommended!

Poor service

Poor packaging to start. The product has also definitely been used despite them saying it was just box damage. Water in the dishwasher and hose. Didn't need in the end then it got interesting. You save your £30 or whatever but if you want to return you have to ship the appliance back. Fair does, but makes it a massive hassle. Staff seem to think that a customer complaint is a personal attack on them and are really rude.

It's cheap because their service is crap. You might get lucky but if you have an issue they don't want to know. Just pay the £20 and get from AO or whatever.

Great communication very helpful staff…

Great communication very helpful staff over the Telephone sorting out the Fast and efficient delivery Driver also helped me take old unit outside for disposal. New Washing machine is excellent flawless will be using this company again in the future

Outstanding company!

Brilliant company! My old fridge died in the heatwave (RIP), so had to replace her. Hate boring appliances so went for a red Smeg, which I couldn't have afforded in a million years if I hadn't bought it from The Appliance Depot (it had a scratch on the side which I had to put my glasses on to see, so although new, was massively discounted). Price was ace; customer service was excellent; delivery - at exactly the time I was told (I know! I was gobsmacked too!) - was terrific and seamless and the driver was a superstar. Will be back next time an essential piece of kit goes to the appliance graveyard in the sky.

Terrible customer service on the…

Terrible customer service on the telephone
Also there was only one man delivering the fridge who was struggling I ended up helping him. There should be two men, this shows a lack of care for staff and clearly unsafe.

Dear Customers,

I would strongly advise anyone to think very carefully before purchasing from The Appliance Depot / J+S Home Appliances Ltd. The level of customer service I experienced was shocking, stressful, and completely unacceptable.

We ordered an American fridge freezer from this company and were told that the driver would contact us approximately 30 minutes before arrival. Instead, he called insisting he would arrive within 15 minutes, forcing us to abandon our shopping and rush home.

From the moment he arrived, the driver appeared unhappy and immediately expected me to help move the appliance from the van to the front door. I explained that I am 72 years old and recently underwent shoulder surgery, making it impossible for me to lift heavy items. The driver then stated that he himself had recently suffered a stroke. This raises a serious question: why would a company send an elderly driver with medical issues alone to deliver extremely heavy appliances without assistance?

The situation became even worse when the driver brought the fridge to the driveway, measured the front door, and abruptly announced that it would not fit through the entrance. Without offering any help, advice, or solution, he simply turned around and walked away, leaving the fridge abandoned on my driveway. When I called after him and explained that he could not just leave it there, he showed no concern whatsoever.

To make matters worse, he drove away carelessly with the lift mechanism still scraping along the ground. I immediately tried calling him back, but he ignored my calls completely.

I then contacted the company office and spoke to two members of staff, including the manager. Their attitude was just as disappointing as the driver’s. Rather than helping resolve the issue, I was told to “take the fridge apart,” remove the doors myself, and move it into the house. When I explained that I could not physically do this, the manager coldly suggested that I “hire a courier” and return the appliance at my own expense.

I asked why the driver could not simply return to collect the appliance, but I was told he had gone on to other deliveries and could not come back. I carefully explained the driver’s behaviour and the distress caused, yet the manager appeared completely uninterested. He promised he would speak to the driver and call me back. I am still waiting for that call.

I later contacted a courier company myself and was informed it would cost approximately £250 to return the fridge to their warehouse. As things stand, the appliance is now stuck in my garage until I can somehow find two people willing to help move it.

This company’s customer service is appalling. The manager was dismissive, unhelpful, and showed absolutely no concern for customer care. The other staff member I spoke with was equally rude and unprofessional.

I have rarely experienced such poor treatment from a company. Once they have your money, customer support appears to be the last thing they care about.

Please think carefully before buying anything from The Appliance Depot / J+S Home Appliances Ltd, especially large appliances requiring proper delivery support and professional customer service.

A deeply disappointed customer.

Bought a graded SMEG range cooker at a…

Bought a graded SMEG range cooker at a great price. The only visable defects were marks on one side of the cooker. This turned out to be glue which was removed quite easily. After a very professional delivery the cooker was stored in a room waiting for the new kitchen to be fitted. This was about 6 weeks. When finally installing the cooker we noticed a missing accessory. Contacted The Appliance Depot who sent out the item with no quibbles arriving the following day. Great product, great price and excellent customer service.

The best delivery drive ever

The company is friendly and efficient 😊. The delivery driver Frank was extremely helpful, a lovely person and probably the best delivery driver I have had in my 70 odd years 😀. Well done Frank 👏👏👏
