Avoid this company. I waited weeks for delivery, with the blame for delay being put on the delivery service. Then I paid a gardener to transplant my plants from the old half-barrel, which had lasted at least 15 years. Within a couple of weeks the wood turned black and so did the water. after a month, there was a rancid smell from the water and my my plants turned black. I lost at least £70 worth of plants, including a treasured miniature water-lily. My complaints and messages to the customer services were ignored and my emails blocked. it seems that a few customers have been treated fairly but many others have not. This company should not be allowed to trade.

Placed an order for 4 x deep planters, then thought I'd made a mistake when I read previous reviews.
Needn't have worried ~ excellent communication, fast delivery, good quality product (all staves fixed, rings pinned all round.)
If cared for correctly should last for years.
Recommend.

This company does not even deserve 1 star. They take your money very efficiently, but then everything else does not work. Non delivery, receipt, contradictions, denials, refusal to sort out problems and give refunds. A truly shocking experience: DO NOT BUY, you will be disappointed.

Totally agree with everyone's reviews, my order went through 2 weeks down the line I had a email on a Friday afternoon saying they haven't got it in stock and they have a alternative instead so I agreed.
2 weeks down the line again they said it was sent off nothing at all.
So Asked for a refund and I still havent received for 6 days.
Totally avoid this company....

I would put zero stars if I could, don’t buy from these! After 2 weeks of waiting I emailed them and was told they’d put a chaser on my order, then nothing! No replies to my email, then I looked at the reviews but too late! I spent £42 and they won’t answer the phone. Absolutely despicable company !

Bought a product from this company. Not in stock. Was told the Transaction was a failed Transaction and no refund necessary. This is despite the funds being taken from my account. The company refuses to engage with me and is refusing to give me a refund. I am now having to instigate small claims Proceedings. DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM.

I ordered a 32” Barrel and I took receipt of a 32” Barrel just over 1 week later. Considering the COVID situation, that’s pretty good. I found the customer services to be helpful and transparent. The quality of the product is exactly what I was looking for at a fare price. Thankyou Barrel Makers. I would certainly order through you guys again. Top marks from me.

Purchased a half barrel to replace my previous barrel which had lasted for 15 years as a water feature. Thought that I was buying a premium product (certainly the price was premium). Within 2 years the bottom steel ring fell off and the barrel is now leaking. Despite a number of attempts to contact the seller, my emails went ignored. Beware, poor quality products and zero customer service ( based on my own experience) Do not buy from this seller. I will be purchasing replacement from a reputable supplier. Lesson learned!

Placed an order. Waited a week for it to arrive. Nothing. Emailed to ask where it was. Got a response to say they would chase up. Waited another week. Nothing. Chased again only to be told the item wasn’t in stock. So I have wasted two weeks waiting for a delivery that was never even sent out. Complete waste of time.

Terrible company. Barrel lid rotted after a year. Company refused to replace clearly not understanding the Sale of Goods Act. You need to instigate legal proceedings to get your money back which I shall be doing shortly.

Terrible company, took payment of £300 for a large oak water butt ordered on line.When I chased the order they said they had run out of stain so the order would have been cancelled and no payment taken. Well it certainly was taken and I am still trying to get my money back, no joy so far.

I purchased a barrel to put my late parents ashes in. When the barrel arrived I was very pleased with it. After only 3 months I notice the was turning black. I called the company to inform them. I was told that it shouldn’t have done this and they would arrange for a replacement to be sent. The next day I received a call from the company to inform me they had spoken to the manager who advised us to clean the barrel and stain it. We try to clean the barrel with different cleaning products but the black stains could not be removed as they are impregnated into the wood.
I contacted the company several times and I was told that the manager wouldn’t budge. I only purchased this barrel as it states on the website that no maintenance is needed. I have contacted trading standards who advised me to write to the company to try and resolve this issue which I did. I did not receive a reply from the company so I called them again and was told that the manager was not going to exchange the barrel. I said I was going to take it further as I was not happy. If you are thinking about dealing with this company don’t expect any aftercare service. The comments on their website states the barrels do not need any maintenance or protective coating. This is very misleading as they obviously do.

Provided a water butt unfit for purpose as it failed after first use. The water now collected leaks continuously, badly staining my patio. It’s impossible to fill the butt as it leaks faster than it fills with rainwater, despite two of the wettest June weeks on record.
On speaking to customer service I was advised to refill from the tap and ‘eventually’ the problem would resolve. Odd. I thought the point of a butt was to collect water during wet spells to use when it is dry. I was also advised that it the failure was due to user error.
Perhaps ‘eventually’ the company will respond to my email asking for a proper resolution or refund. Or perhaps not... clearly they’ve collected enough water themselves to wash their hands of the problem.
Avoid.

Bought 24" oak barrel tub, was not sure of the company as I'd never heard of them. Well, great product and superb quick service, well worth it.
