I booked with Roger to bring my family from Brisbane to Gatwick via Shanghai with Chinese Eastern Air. On return stopping at Shanghai for 3 nights.
I am not flying, but did the reverse journey UK to Brisbane return in Oct 2025.
Roger booked flexible tickets which was unnecessary. I believe TravelUnravel flight prices are inflated from the start so that they can then include stopover hotel prices at very little cost. The hotel he suggested was only 7 storeys high, so no view. I like high rise as always a good view. I asked for the 5* Kunlun Jing An hotel & he told me it was £100 more, but didn’t stress it was per person. This came as a shock as there are six people. Having recently stayed in this hotel I knew family would enjoy it.
The breakfast was so enormous I did not eat anything else during my 3 night stay! October temp was too hot 28 degrees at 8am through to 10pm, with humidity was measuring 41 degrees & too hot to do much walking.
Future visits to Shanghai will be in winter when cooler.

Every car purchaser in Shanghai is given a 40% grant to buy an electric car, my first taxi driver told me. My return taxi driver through phone translator told me he spoke no English.

Oct 2025, the return Tesla taxi driver did not look at the road for the one hour journey to PuDong Airport. I chose to be in the front seat. He spent the whole time on his mobile phone.

Once out of the city & on open road, we were chasing a white car at 70+mph in the outside lane. The white car veered slightly from his lane & quickly corrected himself.
The Tesla’s emergency brakes re-acted & car definitely whistled & made other loud wake up noises.

Through phone translator, my taxi driver blamed the car in front & I disagreed telling him, I was paying him or his company to give me a comfortable ride & it is his responsibility when driving to look at the road. His reply was “the car can do the work”.

My next Shanghai visit I will use the metro from the airport.

Metro Line 2 invaluable. All luggage taken on metro goes through an airport type scanner & I found metro easy to use in Shanghai.

I am able to get a ticket straight away for the date I wanted also Mr Kane was very helpful to organise a wheelchair for my cousin and allocated seats for my request all done while I was on the phone

I have been travelling with you for about five years, Shane who arrange most of my flights has been very helpful with finding we the cheapest flights and travel time that meets my needs. He was especially helpful when I had a dispute with an airline he stepped in and helped me to resolved the problem.

Shane has done a great organising my trip to New York. Always attentive and quick with his responses. I haven’t taken the holiday yet as it is in July - but so far so good.

I have now been assisted by Eric from Travel Unravel 2-3 times in as many months and very satisfied with his performance. Eric maintains his commitment and promises and always returns calls until the problem resolved. The KLM app is impossible to use successfully to resolve most issues and without Erics support and guidance I would have not been able to alter my flights or segments of my flight packages.

The gentleman, Diesel, on the phone was very helpful. Looking to book flights for my brother and his family home as online was difficult given the circumstances in the middle of east. My brother was stuck as he was due to fly through Dubai.
Many options given over the phone and was able to get a decent price direct back to London. His help was very much appreciated appreciated.
