Honestly the young man i spoke to was very patient with me as I was having trouble with my phone . He was very thoughtful and polite during our conversation, a wonderful employee in my opinion.

An easy process adding my new blue badge to a different car. Deleting my old car was easy had no issues at all. Also a quick reply to my application.

OK if your not disabled

Worked well but uploading copies of Blue badge and utility bill not easy at 83 and disabled.

First time I have driven through the…

First time I have driven through the tyne tunnel. There were roadworks and I saw no signs about paying a toll. Perhaps I am a bit simple ! Anyway i then get a letter demanding £35 which I paid. If this were an honest company they would have far clearer signs and maybe even send a letter to prompt someone who has genuinely made a mistake to go online and pay the toll. Then by all means fine them after that. This is clearly a system designed to rob unsuspecting people and be a profit generator. They should publish how much money they collect in these fines. Whatever they say, the signage is clearly not adequate. They could obviously make it better but will choose not to do so as it is a money generator.

Hello,

We are sorry to hear about your experience. When traveling through the Tyne Tunnels a payment for toll is due by midnight the following day. The timeframe for payment is set in the Tyne Tunnel Bylaws, which are governed by Central Government. This timeframe is set to encourage the lowest non-compliance rate possible.

All signage across our site is checked regularly and is in line with the Traffic Signs Manual.

Renewal form very easy for seniors

As a senior of 82yrs old the renewal form was very easy to fill in. Plus, the acceptance of the form and final decision came back to me very quickly…..no hanging around wondering. Thank you.

blue badge renewal

Whilst renewing blue badge exemption one part i couldn't fulfil so I phoned and was greeted by a very cheerful male who talked me through it in just a few minutes. Very pleasant experience.

This can be paid using a number of different methods including on our website, via our app, over the automated telephone line or through a PayPoint location. The timeframe for payment is set in the Tyne Tunnel Bylaws which are governed by Central Government.

If you feel you have wrongfully been issued an Unpaid Toll Charge Notice, you can appeal your charge up to 3 times via the link below.
