I visited the Headingley store last weekend for some new running trainers. Megan was very friendly and knowledgable. She guided me with what shoes would be best for me. I was able to try out the shoes on the treadmill to see how they felt. Great service thank you, I will be returning.

Came in to try on some running shoes for sizing. Matt gave me some amazing advice and helped me pick the best shoe for the mixed running that I do. Will definitely come back!

I’ve started to take my running aspirations more seriously just recently and after doing several miles in what I initially deemed as appropriate footwear for running in I was humbled when I started to experience aches and pains in my shins. I spoke to a friend who advised me to go and get my gait analysed, she advised me to go to Up and Running as she had a delightful experience.

Finding the store in Nottingham is very easy, it’s on a high street so you can’t miss it! The employees on store were very friendly and approachable, Mark was the man for the job!
I told Mark about my running aspirations and future plans and he shared that he’s a runner too, we spoke about his runs in the past, the distance and reasons of why personally we both run. He talked me through what gait analysis is and the differences between good and bad form and what could be altered in order to improve form such as support. Mark then brought several pairs of running shoes from the back store and asked me to try them on and decide which felt more comfortable. He explained what happens to the foot when running thus highlighting things to look out for and consider when selecting the correct footwear. Mark also noticed the type and material of sock I was using when running and suggested that I purchase some suitable running sock as they’re designed to allow the foot to breathe when running.

I found my experience an enjoyable one and what initially was a trip to the store to get my gait tested eventually lead to me purchasing my first ‘suitable’ pair of running shoes and socks.

Marks a credit to the store, his experience slows him to give advice and suggestions that are tried and tested. Working in hospitality myself I understand how sometimes it can be quite hard in order to establish a rapport with a customer however Mark made it look easy.

Richard in the Basingstoke store was amazing - unrivalled knowledge about every shoe, no hard sale, very helpful (and free) gait analysis on the instore treadmill, I will definitely be buying all my running shoes from up and running in future thanks to Richard's service and the selection and pricing. This is how running shops should operate.

I walked in - told him what I needed and my budget - he looked at my gait on treadmill gave me great advice and found fantastic new shoes in minutes SO knowledgeable helpful and professional Will go nowhere else from now on

I came to the shop wanting some new running shoes, Emily that looked after me was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble even though she was very busy. I will definitely return again.

I visited the darlington store as I wanted a gait analysis I explained I had started running again after an injury and my shoes just didn’t seem right I went on the treadmill and then was advised which shoes would suit my running style best a few days later I popped back in and tried on various types of shoes and found my perfect fit all the staff are really friendly and extremely knowledgeable it was a pleasure to shop I had to upsize a full size in the shoe I wouldn’t have known if I hadn’t bought and tried on in store I would 100% recommend

Came in on a weekday to get my first pair of running shoes. I asked to do a gait test. After the gait test, multiple shoes were brought out for me to try and test. A couple options after I found the one I liked.

I was looked after by Lucy, an amazing character. Was always going the extra miles to make sure I had a great experience and ensured that I found a good pair for my needs.

If you require new shoes or a gait test, I 100 percent recommend up & running!!

Really good. Mark was very knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and patient. I think I tried maybe 5 pairs on, all good though some fractionally better than others. I got some Topo trainers - Mark’s ‘wild card’ choice and not in the initial list I gave him.

We had a great experience at the Nottingham shop this afternoon for my and my husband’s shoes. Sally Anne was amazing! She was knowledgeable, helpful, gave us excellent advice as to which shoes my husband who has plantar fasciitis would benefit from, and kind. We came away very happy with both shoes and fantastic service.

A big thank you to Jamie at the Birmingham store for his help with finding a new pair of running shoes. He was friendly, patient, professional and knowledgeable. He was also great at chatting all things ‘spidey and friends’ with my three year old while I tested various running shoes. Highly recommend Jamie and the Birmingham store!

Went in with very little idea on running requirements and shoe fittings and Sami was a wonder with his knowledge and help throughout, thoroughly surprised with how friendly the place felt and how patient he was throughout the process. The cadence tests were done really well and his willingness to go through near enough every shoe on the shelf is not commonly found this day and age.

So helpful , I've been coming to Up & Running for years and they are always so helpful . There knowledge is amazing and every time I come out with the perfect trainer for me. Fully recommended.
