Been numerous times in the store and placed online orders with shipping within the Finland, to Canada and Bosnia.

Customer service was impeccable every time!

Product description is very honest. Sometimes interpretation includes the very best notes of British humor. They go in details. No matter if you're buying used Austrian Anzug 03 pants, assault pack made in China or tehty suomessa Terävä line of products.

I would warmly recommend Varusteleka to everyone, and give their staff ten ⭐ rating!

I have about a dozen orders from this company under my belt, and every one has been a huge success. Great customer service, great products, realistic descriptions (rare in surplus) everything has been A+ ... I would not be surprised if the negative reviews are from competitors, or deranged customers, as I have never found anything to fault them with. (Once I received a pair of damaged surplus SWISS pants, and after a few quick emails they fully refunded the purchase, and let me keep the pants) When you factor in shipping, their prices are very competitive, especially for European items. Do not listen to any negative reviews posted here, they are wildly unfounded. I would say that of the dozens on military surplus outfits I've ordered from, Varusteleka is easily top 3 in terms of product price, and likely #1 overall. (Pro tip: Stock up on dark Scho-ka-kola!)

I've bought from here several times in the last few years, and it has become one of my preferred places to buy online. Their product descriptions are helpful and honest - sometimes comically honest: these people have a sense of humour. They are also better at communicating in English than quite a few UK-based retailers I've dealt with. They sell genuine military surplus and their own ranges of gear which all seem to be designed and tested for serious outdoor use: no cheap and nasty military-style fashion junk here. I've been impressed with the quality of items I've bought from their own Sarma range, as well as some Finnish army surplus bargains. They send their parcels wrapped in rugged paper bags instead of the near-ubiquitous plastic, so don't generate as much plastic waste as many other companies.
It's worth paying the extra for DHL delivery: the one time I placed an order using the cheaper standard Finnish postal service, it went missing but I received a replacement after contacting Varusteleka's customer service. Recommended.

I have ordered from this company several times. I have always been pleased with the products and customer service. Shipping is fast. The delivery from Finland to the Eastern United States is about 6 days using DHL. The Finnish Postal Service, on the single occasion I used it, was slow as a dead mule. Varusteleka customer service responded to me within 48 hours., and within another day had kicked their postal service in the butt and got things moving, then immediately informed me.
I made sizing mistakes in surplus footwear, being unfamiliar with Mondopoint sizing. Return and exchange was easy, free, and fast.
All surplus products were always in at least very good condition, and almost new on a couple of occasions. They strive to make product descriptions detailed and accurate, as well as plain-language funny, although one or two die-hard, seriously sheltered snowflakes may feign shock at them.
In all, I very much question the veracity of any seriously negative review here, based on my own multiple experiences. We are all human, mistakes may happen, but I have NEVER been disappointed by this company, its actions, or its products.

I have ordered from this site quite a few times and have always had a fantastic experience. Despite living in the US their customer service was prompt and clear and I always received my goods. The site has a wide array of gear for both reenacting and normal outdoor equipment. Some of the products are even produced by the company themselves, especially hard to find Finnish reproduction uniforms.

Took the money out of my account, but the verification failed on their site so I didn't get the item.

I always found Varusteleka not only answering my enqueries very promptly & comprehensively, but actually trying their best to give me satisfaction going well beyond flogging me one if their products.

My most impressive order was one of their knife purchased on wednesday 17th April at abt 16:00 & delivered all the way in France less that 40 hours later ... I appreciate I must have been lucky, but I was seriously impressed - well done Varusteleka & thank you !

BTW , The knife, their own in-house Jääkäripuukko 140, is just a simply awesome piece.

While not everyone may appreciate their sense of humor, I think it is something most people need especially in times like these.

Surprised at the negative reviews, I had a particularly good experience. Their product descriptions are extremely detailed so it made it easy to pick the right thing. I waited for the Särma Assault Pack to come back in stock and ordered straight away. Was with me in Ireland in 36 hrs. Packaging was particularly nice - minimally wasteful, yet protective and also fully recyclable.

I am very disappointed with my experience ordering from Varusteleka. I ordered an item on 15 January and today, 26 February, it still hasn't arrived. I paid for "priority" shipping which was estimated to take 4-6 days. I emailed Varusteleka's customer service and they are extremely slow to respond - I emailed on 28 Jan and they replied on 13 Feb. This is not good enough. They blamed problems with shipping caused by covid-19 and Brexit, but didn't give me any options. I feel Varusteleka should give me the option for a refund because if the item ever arrives, it won't be useful to me anymore as it was an item for winter. [By the way, I have noticed the website now has a disclaimer warning of shipping delays, but this wasn't there when I ordered.]

I don't get the negative reviews. I have purchased twice from them both times were incredible. The first time was a free gift basically. I ordered a sweater to Northern Canada and it was sent thru DHL but then turned over to CP but DHL forgot to send a new tracking number and it said delivered to the wrong address so I emailed the customer service and had a reply within the day. They too didn't understand why it was delivered to a different address(CP distro) and immediately refunded me and a week later the sweater arrived. I emailed asking to repay and they said keep it as a gift!!! Great so a few weeks later I ordered again Feb 1st and from Helsinki to North of 60 I recieved my package a couple days ago. Sizing was perfect sweaters were legit and like new if not new which is almost unheard of from a milsurp site. Love em will never buy from another site for my wool sweaters or milsurp products. Just pay for the faster shipping so worth the extra 7$. And don't complain about VAT it's nothing to do with them it's your gov and the transport company not varusteleka. Love you guys hope you stay in business for a long time

AVOID AVOID AVOID I've given one star because I had to . Like the other 2 posts below I've had the same treatment, no item received, no answers on all platforms, do not be tempted there is something seriously wrong with this company........you have been warned!!!!

Placed order, paid for it, they never shipped. Tried to contact them, nothing

I ordered from Varusteleka on January 2nd 2020. I was given shipping / tracking information almost immediatey.

Since this time I emailed Varusteleka on January 8th due to the courier service (Posti) showing as not yet been handed over to them.

There has been no response to this first email.

I wrote to Varusteleka again on January 12th with the same query.

There has been no response to this second email.

I've written to Varusteleka again today requesting cancellation and refund. How can a package not have left the company almost 20 days after order? How can a company simply not respond to basic customer communication requesting recitifcation of an obvious problem with their order?

Avoid these jokers at all costs. ZERO customer service or care.

I live in the USA. Not only where the prices of what I wanted perfect for me, but it got to me in a WEEK!!! I Love VARUSTELEKA! :D Def gonna order from them again!
