Ben clearly knows the terrain and has experience in a wide variety of situations. He's laid-back and flexible but also excited to have an adventure with you. Highly recommended.

Vertical Frontiers and more specifically, Ben Bradford, was amazing! His professionalism was only outweighed by his knowledge of the mountains. We were a little hesitant at first to get a guide, since everyone in our group has been skiing for a long time, but I can confidently say our skiing experience was at least 10 times better than we could have provided ourselves. I don't often write reviews, but good people like Ben deserve the recognition. Whether you are deciding if a guide is necessary for your holiday or if you are trying to narrow down your choices, the decision just got a whole lot easier. Put your trust in Ben and Vertical Frontiers because I know he turned our awesome holiday into an epic one!

We were a group of three experienced off piste skiers who spent two days with Ben of Vertical Frontiers and had a great time. Ben was super communicative as we planned out our trip and got us going right away. We were in search of the best snow so thanks to Ben's knowledge of the on-piste off piste conditions and his car (with ski box on top) we were able to start the day one at Brevent and then end the day skiing from the midway point of the Aguille du Midi. Day two we went to La Tour and traversed to some couloirs and back bowls as the sun softened things up. We'd highly recommend Ben if you're looking for an experienced and chill guide who also clearly enjoys leading groups. Ben is also great at capturing footage and stills of the trip which was a great bonus!

Possibly the best day I have ever had on a pair of skis in almost 30 years. Ben was fantastic at introducing us to touring with a beautiful steady ascent in to back country, we didn't see another soul until we had eaten our squashed sandwiches at the top and made it all the way back down the other side through some fresh powder and excpetional views. Can not recommend highly enough. 100% worth all the pain of getting up there and getting over any fear of it being beyond us, thanks so much, I am now a convert and never going back to a chair lift (well ... maybe a bit of help!)

I recently returned from my fourth highly successful mountaineering trip in the Alps with Vertical Frontiers, this time summiting The Eiger with Bed Bradford. Whether it be conquering one of the ‘big names’ or heading off to remote parts of the Alps, Ben has always been excellent at ensuring that we are fully prepared to accomplish the goal at hand and that we are safely guided for the entire trip.

While safety is obviously Ben’s primary objective for his clients, each trip with him has enabled me to develop my skills thanks to his advice and they have been a huge amount of fun.

I’ve achieved some of my life goals and created many memories thanks to Vertical Frontiers and I recommend them at any opportunity.

I have done 3 trips with Ben at Vertical Frontiers. I started having no climbing experience at all and he has now guided me and my friends to some great summits in France, Switzerland and Italy. He has also been great at setting us up with other guides in the UK for our preparation before coming out to the Alps. Thanks Ben!

Exceptional mountain guiding with the highest level of safety (and just as importantly) fun. Hiring Ben and his team for private guiding goes far beyond any pre-structured package - the variety of route choices, flexibility depending on conditions, and level of knowledge is supremely impressive. I've genuinely had some of the best experiences of my life on mountaineering trips with Vertical Frontiers and couldn't recommend them highly enough for any aspiring climber of mountaineer at any level.

When my original mountain trip was cancelled, Ben offered me the chance to join the three day Monte Rosa mountaineering and training trip. It was a perfect trip -although I could've done couple of days more- with excellent guiding. Ben and Dave are patient and laid-back professionals, and I felt safe and secure at all times with them. What's best -they challenged my skills which -I understood later- is a prerequisite for learning. Will definitely come back for more!

There were five of us on an intro to alpinism day with mixed abilities but all enjoyed it and learned new skills. There were no safety issues and we all returned safely eager for more and bigger experiences with Vertical Frontiers!

Once again, Ben went above and beyond to ensure that we had an incredible experience climbing with him in the Alps. We had four exciting, challenging and varied days improving our mountaineering and Alpine climbing skills. Ben is an extremely competent and confidence inspiring guide. He is brilliant at identifying your personal limits and then pushing you to them! We also enjoyed climbing with aspirant guides Jon and Gareth. I can't recommend Vertical Frontiers enough - they are a fantastic company who make you feel completely safe in the mountains regardless of whether you are a complete beginner or an experienced Alpinist.

We enjoyed a memorable trip ski touring in the high mountains above Saas Fee in May, bagging a few 4000+m peaks.

We had a great experience skiing with Ben and his team for a full 5 day off piste course, skiing all over the Chamonix Valley including doing Vallée Blanche. Really good at making the most of the opportunities even quite some time after the last snow fall. Got really lucky with a big dump towards the end of the week and had a glorious two days skiing powder at the Grand Montets and Le Tour. A mix of short, in resort descends and more adventurous itineries.

Awesome 3 days with Ally! We climbed the Marbrees traverse and explored the glacier using Rifugio Torino as a base camp, then back to Chamonix where we tackled the traverse des Perrons. Ben and Ally worked with me to find the best itinerary given the bad weather (originally we were planning to climb Grand Paradiso). Ally was super awesome as a guide, very knowledgeable. I felt always very safe with him. I truly enjoyed my time in chamonix with them. I just wished I could have stayed longer!

I had a super week with Vertical Frontiers with guiding from Ben, Ally and James. I came without any specific route/ peak objectives in mind for this trip but I gave Ben an idea of my objectives over the next few years. Ben and his guys chose some great routes with my ambitions in mind, had some good Plan Bs when the weather turned, all obviously know their stuff and are happy to share it, and were a good craic on some long days on the hill.

The week was exactly what I was hoping to do.

As a family of three we joined Ben for a five day introduction to alpine mountaineering. We had done bits of mountaineering before and wanted to improve our technical skills so we could go alone. We had a fantastic few days learning crevasse rescue, scrambling rocky peaks, belaying, glacier walking, eating hut food and practicing knots! Ben pitched the course at exactly the right level using his extensive knowledge of be mountains to find something that suited us all. He was friendly, easy going and instilled lots of confidence. We had great fun and would highly recommend Ben as a teacher and guide. Rosie, Amy and David

We had an excellent 3 day course in alpine mountaineering with Vertical Frontiers and loved it. Our guide, Guy, was competent and relaxed. He planned 3 very well thought through days for us working around fickle weather and unpredictable lift schedules. We managed to do 2 classic PD routes and 1 AD route alongside some rope work, crevasse rescue and basics of understanding how to move together on glaciers. We are experienced rock climbers but did not have any alpine experience before we did this course.
This 3 day course has definitely given us enough confidence to start venturing out on some very easy alpine terrain independently and build from that. This is exactly what we were looking for so couldn't be more thrilled with how the course was executed.

Having been guided by Ben and his team for a good few years now I can't rate them highly enough. Their enthusiasm for the mountains is what sets them apart. Whilst every effort is made to run the trips as advertised the weather/conditions can sometimes thwart the best laid plans. With Vertical Frontiers I've always been impressed with how they use their extensive knowledge of the mountains to find a great alternative ensuring we've always had a fantastic, and most importantly, safe trip.
