Barbara, I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for organsing the “Austrian “ part of our holiday. Both Daniel and I had a wonderful time. From your suggested accommodation through to your recommendations for restaurants and activities.
We used your detailed plan as a guide and decided on the day what we would do. Daniel and I did the Hallstat salt mine tour. It was one of the best tours we have done. Very informative, interactive . It happened to be Mother’s Day, so as you would imagine the village was very busy. We didn’t end up going into Hallstat itself . We loved Mt Krippenstein and understood why you recommended staying at the lodge! Spectacular!
Daniel and I loved Salzberg and the Salzkammergut mountain/Lake District.
We ended up staying longer in this area. We got to the Wauche Valley late afternoon on the 14th so didn’t have time to do Melk Abbey etc.
Both Daniel and I realised we tried too put too much in our 4 days. There is so much to see!
We left for the airport at 7am for a 1045 flight,
Due to traffic etc, it honestly took 3 hours from the hotel to airport flight gate!
Barbara, without your local knowledge we wouldn’t have seen as much as we did. We really appreciated your time taken in organising our trip.
We will certainly be in touch when we visit Austria again. I have also recommended you to a family in Sydney.

Barbara of Vienna Unwrapped went well above and beyond the call of duty to plan a wonderful day in Vienna AND Salzburg for me and my husband. Every single detail was exquisitely planned and there were dining suggestions, little hidden secrets to discover, and elements of a tour we would never have been able to see on our own and without her help. She is the consummate professional who kept our budget and interests in mind when planning out our special day. You will be in fantastic hands with this tour concierge company!

My family traveled to Austria from the US for the first time in November 2017, and we had a wonderful 7-day adventure in Vienna and Salzburg, in large part thanks to Barbara! We had less than 3 weeks to plan the trip, and there was a lot of complexity involved with multiple cities and countries, etc. So while doing initial research on attractions/activities, I found Barbara's helpful website--Vienna Unwrapped-- and then I contacted her to talk about our family's travel needs and priorities. This was my first time working with a travel consultant, and I wound up enlisting two types of services:

(1) Lodging recommendations -- Barbara quickly provided shortlists of lodging choices in Vienna and Salzburg so that I could select and book places before they sold out; I also had peace of mind that we would be staying in safe and convenient locations.

(2) Itinerary planning -- Barbara also provided several rounds of the trip itineraries, incorporating my specific requests, and adding her recommended tours/attractions/restaurants/etc; she was very responsive to my questions and feedback. Furthermore, she helped contact some of the local businesses directly to get my questions answered. She gave detailed navigation directions on the itinerary, and upon my request, she also provided me maps and web links so that I had flexibility to switch up the itinerary sequence and navigate my family around Vienna.

Throughout the trip preparation process, Barbara was very friendly, knowledgeable, organized, and responsive. She saved me a massive amount of time with research, and she significantly cut down on my decision-making time. Because she is a travel consultant and not a travel agent, I booked all tickets for tours/classes/shows/transportation on my own; however, she was very clear about these expectations during the initial call and she saved me time by providing booking links. I highly recommend Barbara's travel consulting services, especially to anyone who has not traveled to Austria before and/or has a limited planning timeframe. Thank you Barbara!

Barbara was a joy to work with in 2017. She went the extra mile to fine tune our itinerary, and she was extraordinarily responsive - often replying in less than 24 hours - to any requests and questions. A very easy person to work with and it made our travel planning SO much easier. Vienna Unwrapped designed 3 days of activities for us in Vienna this summer. I highly recommend the service to save time and find hidden gems. Barbara's suggestions were perfect and consisted of things that we would not have known about or found. Everything that she recommended exceeded our expectations. We ended up staying longer to spread things over more days and keep a leisurely pace.

Her concert idea led us to the most inspiring string performance that we have ever experienced. The walking maps were easy to use and the details on transportation made it seamless. The company that she recommended for an Art Nouveau tour was a real find and we used them again in Prague and Budapest.

Vienna Unwrapped is reasonably priced and well worth it. Barbara knows the town and she is a joy to work with in the planning process. We couldn't be happier with the service.

Barbara was really helpful and tailored a specific tour of the Vienna Woods for my group of 5 people. She responded promptly to my emails and had many suggestions. The car and driver she arranged were perfect. Our driver was well informed and very friendly. He recommended a place for dinner that night that was just around the corner from where we were staying and it was fabulous (Salm Brau). We wouldn’t have known about it without him.

The level of comfort i gained from working with Barbara made our trip to Vienna worry free! Highly recommend her for not only Vienna but for the surrounding countryside, she even helped us for Germany!!!
