Check out some of their California locations. My experience has been pretty consistent for the past 5 years or so. Affordable as far as waxing goes. Easy to get appointments.

I deducted 1 star just because, depending on the location, you can run into an esthetician who isn't the best - maybe they were grumpy or tired and frankly just not into ripping and removing the hair as I really wanted them to. But again, overall haven't had what I would consider a bad 1 star experience.

False Advertisement! Trap to keep your money!

I have been a loyal customer for years, buying expensive passes because their sales team explicitly promised that long-term use would lead to thinner hair and less regrowth. That was a lie. After years of consistent payments and appointments, there has been zero difference.

Now that I’ve realized the service doesn't work as advertised and want to stop, they are refusing to refund my remaining prepaid sessions. They took my money based on false marketing claims and are now holding it hostage. This business relies on misleading customers about results and trapping them in contracts. Avoid at all costs.

False advertising first wax not free

False advertising first wax at European Wax Center not free.

I booked an appointment for a Brazilian wax online and pressed the first wax free button.

When the price was not reflected as free online I called the location on Columbus ave in New York City to confirm the wax I booked would be free.

After my wax and tipping my waxer Tykima who was excellent, $12 in cash, I was informed my wax would be half off. Bringing the total to $50. When I asked for a receipt I was told it would be emailed to me. It was not.

“I worked at EWC Ramsey and had a very negative experience. The micromanagement was extreme and created a hostile, stressful work environment. My manager lacked basic management skills and instead of offering support, they constantly undermined me. I often felt sabotaged, especially because they seemed threatened by my experience and the following I brought in from previous roles.

Overall, it was an unhealthy workplace where growth and professionalism were not supported. I would not recommend this location to employees or clients based on what I witnessed.”

Canceled and rebooked same day I scheduled online

Same day I scheduled online, got a call canceling my appointment due to their technician "calling in sick", most likely their FDA (Front Desk Attendant didn't know how to do their job or this company just has a terrible way of canceling openings when their techs call out and is super delayed. When someone schedules and appointment, and you only have a 9 min window for canceling a rescheduled appointment, maybe make an exception when the person is on their way and was only 10mins past the rescheduled earlier appointment. This seriously ruined my day trying to make it all the way to Lake Oswego from Canby to take the only appointment they had to reconcile there terribly delayed system or terrible FDA. Make your website not take appointments you can't rebook same day, if your tech calls out. And retrain your FDA to not offer an hour earlier appointment when the person is only offered 9min grace period in today's traffic especially when they are going to make a long trip like I did. It is infuriating to be 10mins late on a rebook and not be seen when they are still open for another hour. Either way bad business. Need retraining and revamping of scheduling practices. If my appointment was originally at 1715 (515PM) and you close at 1730 (530) then I am confused at how being 10min late to an hour earlier (1615) appointment would make a difference. Terrible terrible business.

My daughter Bethany was employed by EWC…

My daughter Bethany was employed by EWC in North Brunswick, NJ for almost 7 months. She was terminated on Nov. 18, 2025 because her numbers were not up to par for pre-bookings and retail. I see great reviews of her on this website. She did great work, but they decided to get rid of her anyway AND EWC did not even have the courtesy to sign off on her paper to submit to the state to obtain her license. The requirement for this is 1 month; she was employed almost 7. The state requirement is to work for 1 month and be proficient in "temporary hair removal". The state form does not mention anything about how much she needed to sell or pre-book. Shame on EWC. They take advantage of their employees. She never called out; she covered other peoples shifts; even sometimes did not take breaks in which she almost passed out one day. I am filing a complaint with the State......stay tuned. Oh and did I mention that there was no accruals for sick time on her pay stubs. I thought sick time was for full time and part time employees.....

Deep Disappointment with European Wax…

Deep Disappointment with European Wax Center (El Paseo Location in Fresno)
As a long-time client of European Wax Center (EWC), I expected a significantly higher standard of service. However, my recent experiences have left me deeply disappointed and frankly disgusted by how the company and management treat loyal, long-term clients.
Recently, I went to rebook my wax appointment through the EWC app, only to discover that my trusted wax specialist, Ciara Rix, was no longer listed. I was shocked to learn she was no longer with the company with no notifications being given to her clients. It feels incredibly unprofessional that EWC had clients showing up without a word—just an “oops, yeah, that wax specialist is no longer with us.” This lack of communication is appalling and reflects a company that clearly doesn’t value its customers.
Given that the services provided are quite intimate, being forced to see a different wax specialist with whom I have no rapport is not only discomforting but downright disappointing. I felt that EWC's priority is not the comfort and feelings of their customers but rather clinging to money through bulk-purchased wax passes. They falsely promote how much they value their clients while disregarding the very people who keep them in business.
Like any rational customer, I asked for my money back since I would no longer be receiving services. Instead of a refund, I was met with, “Unfortunately, we cannot refund your money, but you can have store credit.” This response is infuriating! I wouldn’t mind store credit for a small amount, but EWC is withholding nearly $800! This desperate attempt to keep money in their accounts is nothing short of greedy.
Many clients, including myself, return to EWC because of the wax specialists who build a rapport with us. Ciara Rix was the heart and soul of the service I received, and I only remained with EWC for over six years because of her exemplary services. For those who might argue that I haven’t branched out, let me clarify: during Ciara's maternity leave, I experienced other wax specialists, and the quality of service was drastically reduced. One of them even burned me with the wax! It was an uncomfortable and painful experience that almost made me stop coming back altogether. Ciara’s follow-up after that incident is what kept me returning.
As a dedicated client who once recommended EWC to friends and family, I now feel compelled to look elsewhere for my waxing needs—somewhere that truly values loyalty and the history I’ve built as a customer.
On a positive note, I’m thrilled to share that I’ve found Ciara Rix at her new location!!! I could not be more excited about it!
All I wanted was my money back, but instead, I’m left feeling betrayed and disgusted by a company I once trusted, which is practically stealing my money by withholding it.
I have already reached out to corporate.

Not recommended for brows

They don't use tools to make sure the brows are even. They just eyeball it. Brows are a specialty that require more expertise than just knowing how to remove hair with wax. I do not recommend this place for brows.

Don't believe the negative reviews on this website. This place is great. I have found an excellent specialist whose name is Alexis and she has been a doing terrific job here in the Naples location. She is meticulous, thorough, and somehow with her, my every waxing experience is pleasant. Alexis is both personable and knowledgeable and I highly recommend her.

My skin was severely tore

I had a very frustrating experience on 05/10/25 during a Brazilian wax (Central Park location-VA) appointment. The wax specialist pulled the wax while it was still wet, which caused it to break midway and tear my skin. It was extremely painful in the moment, and although the specialist apologized, I initially let it go because I had seen her before and she had done a good job in the past.

However, once I got home, I noticed the area was bleeding and looked badly injured. The pain worsened significantly after I took a shower. I returned to the EWC today (05/11) to report the issue and request a refund. The front desk had me complete a complaint form, and another wax specialist inspected the affected area. I was told to wait 48 hours to see if the skin improves—and to see a doctor if it doesn’t.

As of now, no refund has been issued, and I’m still in severe pain. This has been a very upsetting and painful experience, and I hope EWC takes appropriate action.

Rebekah was awesome!

Rebekah was awesome!! She really knows what she's doing!! This was my first eyebrow waxing since my hair came back and she was not only gentle she was awesome!!! This is going to be my home for my waxing thanks young lady!!

I called to book at the Fayetteville…

I called to book at the Fayetteville location They weren't available so I was sent to Rogers which was amazing I was referred to Joy. Joy gave great conversation and great service.. I'm looking forward to seeing her again

Why do they harass me when I walk in…

Why do they harass me when I walk in and when I leave to get me to prepay for waxing or buy their products??? I am just there to get a wax and that’s what I pay for! Stop hounding me to pay for products and sign up for membership!!! It’s extremely annoying! Today they wouldn’t let me leave unless I signed up for a prepaid pass until I finally raised my voice and said NO! It’s ridiculous!
