Botched surgery, terrible customer service
I had a terrible experience with this company. The doctor assigned to my hernia surgery, Michael Thomas, ignored a scan of the area, ignored my specific complaint, and ignored the referral order from my PCP. identifying the location of the hernia. Then the nurse, on the day of surgery, re-confirmed the exact location, and that was ignored as well. In spite of all this Dr. Thomas cut the wrong place, did NOT properly repair the hernia in need of care, and then admitted to doing a wrong procedure. It was a painful procedure, and painful, long recovery. I ended up having to go through all that AGAIN 6 months later with a different surgeon (repeated pain, out of work, can't exercise, etc.) because Dr. Thomas's admitted negligence. I sent an ethics complaint to Western Surgical with all the details, the original medical scan, and my experience. They totally blew me off saying basically nothing was done incorrectly. I actually have a recording of Dr. Thomas admitting his mistakes!!! I will NEVER have any procedure done again by Western Medical. In my experience, they are incompetent, and worse, they do not care about their patients.
