Williams & Fudge Use Predatory and likely Illegal Practices
Williams & Fudge reported an old student loan to the credit bureaus as if it were a brand-new account opened in 2025, with no payment or delinquency history. Then they marked it as charged off multiple months in a row — tanking my credit score while I was applying for a new apartment.
I pulled documentation from their own servicing portal showing the loan was last serviced in 2017 and placed into collections in 2020. None of that history appeared in the credit report they helped furnish. Even an Equifax rep told me she couldn’t view the loan’s open date or history — that’s how bad the reporting was.
I contacted Williams & Fudge with evidence and asked them to correct or remove the account. They’ve done nothing. I’ve now filed complaints with the BBB and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
This isn’t just sloppy — it’s deceptive and damaging. If you see their name show up on your credit report, check everything. You may be dealing with a re-aged debt and a predatory tactic.
