I’ve never felt this frustrated dealing with any airline before. My experience with Turkish Airlines customer service has been absolutely exhausting, confusing, and honestly unacceptable.
I contacted them well in advance to postpone my ticket and provided all the required documents, including a unfit-to-fly letter. Despite doing everything correctly on my side, I was given completely conflicting information by different agents. One told me my ticket had already been postponed, another said it hadn’t, and then I was told to wait for a “feedback team” that never got back to me.
I was rushed through calls, spoken to without proper care, and even had one agent hang up on me. I was also sent a document in Turkish that didn’t clearly confirm anything, and when I asked for a proper confirmation email or reference number, I was told they couldn’t provide one. How is a customer supposed to trust anything without written confirmation?
Now I’m being told I might miss my flight and will have to pay extra fees and penalties for something I tried to resolve days in advance. This feels completely unfair. It honestly feels like I’ve been misled and pushed around with no clear answers, no responsibility, and no proper support.
This whole situation has caused me serious stress and anxiety. Instead of helping, the customer service made everything worse. The lack of communication, consistency, and basic professionalism is shocking.
Based on this experience, I have completely lost confidence in Turkish Airlines. I would not trust them again with my travel plans, and I would strongly warn others to be very careful especially if you need any changes or support. This is not how customers should be treated.

Worst air line ever I recommend dont do it , i was stuck here 5 days I slept at airport untill I had go hotel , there was a delay and the staff are rude and disrespectful they don't want to answer questions, I was asked to pay another $1,500 in order to be helped when I already payed my round flight from Canada in full payment, I will never catch a flight with this bustards ever again I almost lost my job due to this stupid delay that wasn't my fault and their was no accommodation or solution f.... Turkish airlines.

Bedbugs Airlines
I took a flight from Barcelona to Istanbul and then another one to Kuwait. Apart from the flight leaving late and only just making my connection, because it was also late, 24 hours later I had the worst insect bites on my lower back, bum and thigh. Intense burning itching, tingling feeling which affected my sleep, my leg swelled up and I had to go to the doctor's to get antibiotics and antihistamines. They were Bedbug bites. I then looked online and apparently this airline has received multiple claims of bedbug infestations on their planes with passengers complaining of seeing them on seats, in blankets and in the overhead bins etc. Disgusting! Avoid at all costs!!

The story of my dissatisfaction is this. I had a flight from Denpasar to Istanbul and I forgot an expensive external battery and a cable in the pocket in front of my seat. I spoke when I landed and they told me to apply online. The point is that it took a good few hours until I received confirmation of the application registration. Then the answer came that it was not found. I strongly believe that it was found but whoever found it kept it! It never even crossed my mind that I would not get the battery and cable back. Because we are only talking about Turkis Airlines. It left a very bitter taste in my mouth and even now when I write it I can't believe that as much as the company is a perfectionist, it doesn't have an exact flow for something like this. That's it. So be careful of inattention!!!!
Really good company
Really good company, i was taken by customs in Istanbul and they delayed my flight so i didnt catch my flight, they where so sweet to change my ticket to next day, make a hotel reservation at Hilton Hotel Istanbul, and one Meal, and make transport from Airport to Hotel, really nice people!. Really fast to do their thing, now i will await my luggage. Thank you so much Turkish Airlines! My first trip alone and you helped me out in the best way, you could!

Unacceptable Service – Child Left Without Food and Staff Disho
We were extremely disappointed with our experience flying with Turkish Airlines.
We deliberately chose Turkish Airlines and paid significantly more than we would have with a budget airline because we expected a stress-free journey, including checked luggage, sitting together as a family, and in-flight meals. Unfortunately, none of this justified the higher price.
The most unacceptable issue was the in-flight meal service, particularly as it affected our child. Our son cannot eat anything containing lentils, and the only meal available contained lentils, meaning he was left without any food at all. Had we known this in advance, we would have brought our own food. While adults can manage, it is completely unacceptable for a child to be left without a suitable meal on a full-service airline.
What made this worse was seeing cabin crew continue to walk up and down the aircraft with meat meals still available after service had finished. We were also told that a suitable meal had been given to another passenger who was sleeping at the time meals were served. This is impossible to justify when a child had no food.
When my son pointed out to a member of cabin crew that both he and I had gone without a meal, the response was laughter. This felt dismissive, unprofessional, and upsetting.
Afterwards, staff claimed that we should have booked a meal preference in advance. This is misleading — not only were we not advised of this, but meal preferences are not available on all flights, so this explanation felt like an attempt to shift responsibility rather than acknowledge a failure.
Our holiday ended on a very poor note because of this experience. We will definitely avoid Turkish Airlines in the future and also avoid any itineraries involving a layover in Istanbul. At least with a budget airline, you can purchase food on board if needed.
This was not the level of service we expected from an airline with Turkish Airlines’ reputation.

I was supposed to be flying to Syria on a trip that I have planned for months. There is no Syrian embassy in the UK and their e-visa system is not up and running yet. It is totally standard to purchase a visa on arrival and two of my colleagues have done the exact same thing with no hassle just a few weeks ago. I got to the desk in Birmingham where I was meant to fly to Istanbul then on to Aleppo and I was refused boarding as I didn't;t have a visa. I calmly explained that everyone from the UK gets a visa on arrival and was told no I had to get it before I travelled. I even had an official document from the authorities there that confirmed the visa on arrival system. Turkish Airlines made me wait for an hour and half then just said no and shut the gate and walked off! No apology, nothing at all. My travel company who booked the flights, then called them and they refused to discuss it and will not offer a refund or even an apology. They just said I can get a flight with Emirates at my own expense. Absolutely awful customer service and zero explanation or compassion at all. I will never fly with them again.
Your Advance Booking Means Nothing and Ground Staff Treat You Like an Inconvenience

Their systems are broken, their service is contemptuous, and their answer to every problem is "not our problem." Cancelled my return flight immediately and Qatar Airways got my money instead. I do not recommend TA. Ever.
Please be cautious with Turkish Airlines
Turkish Airlines has consistently demonstrated poor customer service, failing to adhere to their own terms and conditions and denied approved refund.
Be wary of their fares. I strongly recommend avoiding Turkish Airlines for your European connections and opting for other airlines instead.

I would give 0 starts if possible!! First and last time travelling with TA. We were leaving from Edinburgh to Istanbul then a connecting flight to Nairobi. Once on tarmac ready to take off from Edinburgh, the plane turns around and we’re told that there’s a “technical issue”. This takes 2 1/2 hours and already missed our connecting flight. They never told us anything more about the issue, no apologies or consideration that a lot of people on the plane had missed their flights as well. We arrive in Istanbul and we’re directed to the operations desk. As the staff are taking me, my partners and 8 month old baby’s details to be taken into accommodation. Next flight going to Nairobi was 24 hours later. He flat out says “sorry, your passport needs a visa to enter the city”.. we’re like ok, what else can we do? He offers no other help!! Says maybe check the sleep pods in airport on our charge!! I asked for luggage as we didn’t have enough formula for my baby to last 24 hours in our hand luggage . The man says sorry, direct transit meaning we can’t get hold of our bags! I ask, so I don’t feed my baby and I have no where to lay them??! The lack of consideration was dumbfounding! He says check the hotel upstairs and I asked why can’t they pay that one for us and they say it’s too expensive and they don’t liaise with that specific hotel!! After back and forth we decided to leave, walked to yotel reception and was quoted £350 for standard room a night. We had no choice but to pay. Thankfully the hotel staff mentioned that there’s a pharmacy that makes deliveries and luckily, they had formula and make a swift delivery!!
What was mostly shocking to me is the lack of duty of care. They basically said sort yourselves out and yet can see I’m holding my baby in my arms.
Avoid dependability on the TA-customer service at all cost
I have NEVER experienced such RUDE customer service in my life:
1. We booked the wrong passport name in one of the ticket, because the passenger still had her maiden name.
2. We asked to change the name on the ticket to her maiden name instead
3.They told us to create a new passport with her NEW SURNAME, because they couldnt change the name on the ticket. Her old passport is now gone...
4. They CHANGED THE TICKET ANYWAY, and wont change it back: making the ticket invalid and unusable!
Calling "Nijad" from customer service @ 12:18 on september 4th: He did not help at all. He was extremely rude, not interested in helping, and completely unprofessional.
The company policy is rigid, and the feedback forms make it impossible for anyone to both understand the nature of the problem, as well as the customer service to handle them.
It seems like the three people I've spoken to so far is just there to try and absorb as much frustration from customers who have real issues, but doesnt really have any power to help. Besides that their language skills are extremely poor, and the microphones they use make it very hard to communicate with them.
I pray that NO ONE should ever go through the frustration we have had to endure to change ONE SINGLE NAME ON A TICKET, with all relevant information. I is completely ridiculous and not a series enterprise.
Un voyage parfait.
Nous avons passez un excellent voyage avec nos 2 enfants de 2 ans et 3 ans. Le personnel a été extrêmement serviable, un vrai cuisinier était présent pour servir les passagers. La nourriture était excellente. Nous étions dans un A330, les places sont très confortables avec beaucoup d'espace. Nous voyageons régulièrement avec Swiss et Lufthansa mais avec cette expérience nous allons clairement privilégier cette compagnie pour nos prochains voyages.

5 hours delay with not any sort of compensation, apart from a food voucher for very cheap fast-food chicken nuggets or similar.
We flew from Zurich via Istanbul to South Africa on the 7th of August. This first flight was in time and we arrived at 10.40PM. The connecting flight for South Africa was due to depart at 01.50AM, so 3 hours stopover. But upon arriving in Istanbul Airport, we found out through the Departing Flight Schedules in the departure hall that the plane was delayed by 4.50 hours. At their service desk they said the reason was operational, and they had no clue by how many hours it would be delayed , it could even be be canceled. They gave us some "meal voucher", which was only valid in the food court upstairs which serves no other than mostly fried fast-food. We were not allowed to choose ourselves, we could only choose from 5 chicken nuggets or other rubbish. In the middle of the night, 5 hours delay, and we had to hang out on the super dirty airport chairs, or pay a cabin to sleep for 150 Euro on the airport. Many people were as disgusted as we were. The service employees can not care any less about what people have to go through, they just send you away with a cheap fast-food voucher that costs a couple of Euros. Unfortunately it appears Turkish Airlines is not a member of IATA or the like. So they are not bound to give people any form of relief or payment for the misery caused. The plane took off with over 5 hours delay, so we had been hanging around on very dirty chairs for 8 hours. At our destination we lost a full day as due to the delay we arrived late at night instead of in the morning. I would not recommend this airline to anyone, as long as they do not care at all!!! about their passengers! A huge shame on them. I am completely lost why it has been chosen the best airline in Europe. For us it was definitely the first time and the last time we flew with them!!! Many people on the delayed flight said the same, never again.

The flight from lusaka to Istanbul is long flight 12 to 13 hour with stop over in Tanzania.
It was hot i kept telling the air attendees that my kids are uncomfortable your are condition not the right temperature its hot and they would asure me that the will pass the message.
My kids 12 and 14 years old vomited and i was given a plastic bag and so some serviet to clean my self no assistance what so ever.
I was there with my kids sitting with plastic bags of vomit the only thing she did was to come and spray our sits that it was smelling bad. I couldn't wait to land and buy us some new clothes at the airport.

Turkish Airlines confirmed I was eligible for compensation for a flight delay and missed connecting flight, but they are now deliberately delaying the refund process by claiming documents haven't been delivered despite repeated verifications and submissions, and they are no longer responding to any modes of communication. From Reddit threads I can see they make their compensation process intentionally difficult, claiming they haven't received documents, not responding via multiple channels and others have had to resort to attending their main offices in person.
I completed feedback and appeal forms online, there is no response via live chat. As a last resort, I had to create a Twitter (X) account so I could send a direct message to TK HelpDesk. I have received two generic responses to say they have forwarded the issue for a quick response but have still received nothing.
I have made two complaints to the Civil Aviation Authority as this seems to be the only way I receive a response - this level of customer service is disgusting.
STAY AWAY
Every year I have traveled from Miami to Pristina has always been an issue. This year 2025 takes the cake. First flight was delayed two hours, making me miss my second flight. Which made me miss my 3rd private flight to Bodrum for the $7000 private resort I booked for me and my family. Had to switch my flight in Istanbul to catch my family in Bodrum. They did not compensate my flight, my food, not even offer a single thing a hotel etc. I am near 48 hours awake dealing with this nonsense and traveling. Not to mention THEY LOST ONE OF MY LUGGAGES..... so now on top of all of this whole situation I do not even have clothes to wear as that was my personal clothing suitcase. I am wearing the only clothes I have now. Absolutely the worst experience I have every had. If I could give NEGATIVE STARS I would give a -1000. Turkish airlines should not be in business

A one star is too much for this airline ,I'm so shocked I can not digest what i have been through during my stop over in Istanbul airport to connect. and how they treated me and my daughter like garbage .on the boarding gate they literally cancelled my daughter ticket just to give it to turkish couples .he asked my daughter do u want to be with your mom anyone smart enough would know that he suggested to have a seat next to her mom so my daughter answered yes in a blink he cancelled her ticket and gave her seat to the turkish couples and turned to us to say u have to buy another ticket .I don't recommend this airline to anyone . they make u feel that they are God chosen people it is very frustrating and horrific situation i could not find a single person to stand with us this despite me having a panic attack from the situation they all blamed us for saying yes I want to be with my mom .just becarful with this airline they look like gangsters not professional .
