Absolutely Horrifying Experience – Unsafe Food Delivered

I had one of the worst experiences ever with Zomato. I placed an order for Chicken Tikka Biryani from Metro 5 Family Dining (Majiwada, Thane) on 1st April for my son-in-law, as I was ordering remotely from Allahabad.
What was delivered was shocking — the food was clearly rotten, foul-smelling, and excessively spicy to the point of being completely inedible. This is not just poor service; this is a serious food safety hazard.
Zomato claims to be a reliable food delivery platform, but incidents like this show a complete lack of quality control and accountability. How can such unsafe food even be allowed on your platform?
Despite paying ₹516.83, the experience was disgusting and deeply disappointing. This kind of negligence could have easily led to serious health issues.
I strongly urge others to think twice before ordering, especially for loved ones. Zomato must take responsibility, ensure strict hygiene checks, and stop partnering with such irresponsible restaurants

Last night I didn’t receive my food but Zomato marked it as delivered. Tried contacting delivery guy—he said he met with an accident and then stopped responding.
Zomato customer support has ignored my refund request despite multiple emails.
This is extremely disappointing. I demand a full refund immediately or I will escalate this issue legally. @Zomato_IN #Refund #PoorService

Rough business, shameless robber!

I travelled to Dubai in July last year, regret miserably that I didn't read the review about Zomato, downloaded the app, and signed up for Zomato Gold, such a big mistake. This company is totally unscrupulous, and a great shame to hospitality service apps of it's kind!

I paid the July subscription of AED29, left Dubai in five days after my holiday, then in October another payment was taken out of my credit card, I wrote to state that I didn't consent to this payment, please refund and cancel subscription, no reply. As life was hectic, couldn't keep up with this scammer, and then again on 5th January this year, another payment got taken out. I lodged a complaint again, and as I was afraid that more payments would be taken out without my consent, I cancelled the Zomato Gold subscription, and lodged a complaint to my credit card company. After their investigation, they found this was not a subscription but a push payment. I will have to report the card as comprised and to cancel the card, but I can't, I will travel abroad next week

Three replies from Zomato, none of them being helpful:
We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused. We would like to inform you that the auto-renewal option was enabled when you purchased your Gold Membership. If you do not wish to renew your membership in the future, please follow the steps below to disable auto-renewal:

Open the app and go to the Gold section.
Scroll down to the "Stop Auto-Renewal" option and turn it off.

Unfortunately, cancellations and refunds are not feasible at the moment, as these subscriptions are non-cancellable and non-refundable.

If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We truly appreciate your continued support and patience.

It's totally daytime robbery, I requested that they cancel from their end because I have deleted the account, but no, they can't and will not!

I will have to go back to my credit card company to block Zomato.

Please be aware of this rogue business!!

Delivery Robbery

Its been notices delivery boys dont carry any change, small amount I used to ignore, But today again they had no change but big amount. So I didnt accept the order, but delivery boy convince me he will be back with balance amount soon but never returned. The worst part is even after continues chat session with customer care they didnt take it seriously. Just waste of time. they are charging a decent amount for delivery and this is on top of it.

I was enjoying the app until I had bad…

I was enjoying the app until I had bad experiences with the customer service agents who have no idea about what they are talking. I was trying to order with some discounts for GOLD members. When I tried to use the discount it asked me to subscribe for GOLD, wherein I am already a GOLD Member. I did chat with customer service and the agent said she will sort out in some time and I kept waiting for long time, the agent just disappeared, the next agent told it is a technical issue and I woudn't get discount and also asked me to uninstall the app and reinstall. What???? Seriously??? A complete waste of 30 minutes chatting with the customer service agents and two people give different solutions. Another issue when my order was excepted by Zomato and was not confirmed by the restaurant. The restaurant guy called and said they will deliver if it is from Talabat but not from Zomato and Zomato has rejected the order. The restaurant has no issues to deliver and asked me to order again from Talabat. The great customer service agents started with lies that the restaurant doesn't want to deliver since it is not in the delivery zone. I said biggest lie since I ordered only because they deliver else why would I order from a restaurant which doesn't deliver. Second, he said may be coz of the current Corona virus situation they don't want to order in some places. I said the restaurant guys called me and told me that Zomato cancelled the order and they are ready to deliver and asked me to order from Talabat. This shows Zomato customer service agents only lie and waste all the customers time with all their pathetic service. My issue is with the customer service who are rude and always pathetic at their services.
