APEX Queenstown - Rude Staff with Attitude Problems

The after hours car collection at Christchurch airport went smoothly and was handled by a different company who were very helpful. The car was old and had over 175k miles on it, which I didn’t expect and for a rental car, is simply too old. The car was ok but within 30 mins of driving it, various warning lights came on, including servicing required etc. I called the company the next day and they said not to worry about the service warning lights. Still, I didn’t have much confidence in the car and the thing was, it wasn’t cheap at all! It was holiday season and the car was extortionately priced. If I had known that the car would have so many miles on it and various issues, I wouldn’t have paid the price I did. Anyway, it was actually fine in the end. My main disgruntlement is with the car return at Queenstown airport. It was Christmas Day and ok the staff were probably very unhappy to be working but that’s not my fault. I went in and greeted them with a “ Merry Christmas” and all I receive back was scowls and attitude from the get-go. One of the ladies went around the car inspecting the scratches and dents (which were pre-existing) and tried to make a fuss about them so I shut her down. I asked about the shuttle bus to the airport and was told every 15 mins. We loaded our luggage into the bus ourselves and waited inside for around 15 mins. At this point, we were running out of time for our flight. We waited and waited and nobody came to the bus and instead, ladies were staring at us from within the office. At this point, I was very frustrated and went inside the office and said if we could leave. One of the ladies with an attitude said it’s every 15 mins and I said yes, we have been here since 20 mins now. There were no other passengers so I didnt understand what on earth was happening. It was like they were just trying to irritate us and be rude. I went outside and waited again. Still they didn’t come to drive the bus. So I asked again and then another lady, who had even more of a bad attitude got into the bus. I said good morning and happy Christmas and she stared at me and completely ignored me. The drive was uncomfortable silence and my partner and I were totally confused by their attitude. When we arrived, we both said thank you and again, she completely ignored me and just stared at us with an absolute bad attitude. How can a company function with rude, arrogant and bad attitude staff like this? Absolutely appalling service (and car) and I would say stay away from Apex, particular Apex Queenstown. They don’t deserve to have your business and at the amount I spent on hiring an old banger, disgraceful.
