I joined the gym in 2023 and attended…

I joined the gym in 2023 and attended for a month before deciding to cancel my membership online. Despite cancelling, I continued to be charged for two months. In response, I emailed the organisation to notify them of the issue and was assured that it would be rectified.

Several months later, I received an email from a collection agency stating that I owed the gym money. I contacted the gym again and was informed that the matter would be resolved. However, months passed, and I was once again contacted by the collection agency regarding non-payment. I reached out to the gym again and was instructed to email evidence of my previous correspondences, which I did. Unfortunately, I received no response—this was in January of this year.

Yesterday, I received yet another email from the collection agency. When I called Énergie Fitness today, I was informed that I was being charged for an additional month because, according to their records, I had only notified them on September 12, 2023, that my membership was cancelled—meaning they charged me for October. However, I had already cancelled online in July. I was then told that the online cancellation system "was not working", meaning my cancellation request had never been processed. If that were the case, why was online cancellation an option on their website?

To make matters worse, when I attempted to discuss this ongoing issue today, a representative hung up on me, and further attempts to contact the gym were ignored.

This entire experience has been frustrating and deeply unprofessional. Given the poor customer service, lack of accountability, and continued billing issues, I would not recommend this gym to anyone.
