Non espresso latte delivery

I’ve often wondered why Amazon have achieved such dominance in the supply and delivery business in the UK and the answer is that it is so often the case that direct-from-manufacture supply is so lethargic and pathetically organised in comparison. Nescafé Dolce Gusto by Nestlé is one such example that needs a wake-up coffee. Having received my impressive DeLonghi Dolce Gusto coffee maker in one day from Amazon, I was very keen to try out several of the many Dolce Gusto pod coffee types available as soon as possible when few shops seem to stock the full range. An introductory offer to tempt those who had bought machines via Amazon to instead use Nestlé’s own Dolce Gusto direct supply website for pods seemed appealing. But my first impression already dictates that it is the last time I am likely to use this service. An epic fail of a simple task of sending the customer six boxes of pods from the Nestlé warehouse, less than 40 miles away from my home, even within the unimpressive advertised 3-5 day standard delivery time. It took three days after the order to an email saying it was being shipped, but the courier’s tracking showed the order to still be with Nestlé until another two days later. Nestlé, on the other hand, were by then showing the order to be complete as if delivery of it does not matter! Nestlé’s chosen courier is Yodel and with non of its alternatives to home delivery. Yodel eventually messaged that it was out for delivery and would arrive in a two-hour time slot between 19.00 and 21.00 on a Saturday evening! It didn’t, even though the delivery van tracking app showed it to be visiting streets in the immediate area up to and beyond 23.00 that evening. Then on Sunday a new time slot of 13.39 to 15.39 for delivery was given then changed to 14.39 to 16.39. It eventually arrived at 16.42. So 7 days for this simple order to arrive. I feel Nestlé direct are unlikely to achieve repeat orders where there is much greater efficiency in the supply chain elsewhere.
