Title:Bait-and-switch during memory shortage — canceled my confirmed order to resell at 4x the price
I purchased a Hynix 64GB DDR5 RDIMM server memory module from CTS Point on February 25, 2026 at their listed price of $592.61. The product was shown as "In Stock." I completed checkout, paid $602.61 total via Google Pay, and received an order confirmation email for Order #311488.
Within hours, CTS Point called me to say they were canceling my order because their "new stock" is $2,400. I refused and demanded fulfillment in writing. They then changed the price on their website and issued a refund without my consent.
This is a textbook bait-and-switch. They listed a product at an attractive price, accepted my money, confirmed the order, and then canceled it to resell at four times the price during the DDR5 shortage. I have filed complaints with the FTC and the California Attorney General.
I would not recommend purchasing from CTS Point. If the market price goes up after you buy, they will cancel your confirmed order to chase the higher price.
