Avoid – Nearly £4,000 Held, No Refund After Weeks of Chasing
My wife placed two large orders with The Catering Centre on 15 July 2025, using her credit card and my debit card:
• Order #253488 – £3,190.18 (8 x Polar G Air Conditioners – paid on her credit card)
• Order #253489 – £797.54 (2 x Polar G Air Conditioners – paid on my debit card)
Total: £3,987.72
The website showed the items as in stock, but the following day we were told they were actually out of stock until 26 July. We replied immediately to ask if they could guarantee delivery by that date. They couldn’t, so we requested a full refund on 16 July.
Since then, we have had to chase this multiple times — emails sent on 17th, 21st, and 31st July. I was told on 21 July that the refund was being processed and would take 10–14 working days, which is unusually long. As of now:
• No refund confirmation has been provided
• No money has been received back on either card
• Communication has been vague and delayed
This has caused a serious disruption — especially with nearly £4,000 held up — and I’ve seen multiple other reviews describing the same issues: misleading stock availability, slow responses, and long refund delays.
I will be taking this up with my bank and credit card provider if the funds are not returned by Thursday, 7th August 2025 (tomorrow), and will update this review accordingly.
Really disappointed with the service and would not recommend using The Catering Centre based on this experience.

The Catering Centre has responded that someone would be in touch — this has not happened.
This reply appears to be more about managing public perception than resolving the issue. I have received no refund, no communication, and no follow-up despite their claims.
We have raised disputes with our respective card suppliers.
No refund from the company. Our respective banks recovered the funds.
