Steaming through the bulb fields.
My wife and I travelled with Shearings on a coach holiday to the Netherlands 'Steaming through the bulb fields' 03 April- 07 April 2023, as a birthday present from my wife.
The transfer coach we were to pick up on had not been serviced properly prior to a long journey, and expecting an 'Executive' Shearings/Leger coach, we were fobbed off with a well below standard coach from Ridleys of Warwick.
Firstly the toilet facilities were out of order, there was no tea/coffee facilities throughout the trip, on frosty early morning day trips there was no heating on the coach and customers sat on the coach freezing cold.
I will point out though that the driver and his relief were absolutely brilliant throughout despite knowing our dissatisfaction.
Day one of the trip to Keukenhof gardens was the only worthwhile day of the whole tour.
Day two was a boring uneventful day supposedly 'Steaming through the Bulb fields' and a boat trip. There were very few tulips out in bloom just fields of greenery, and felt that this trip should have been put back and not started until the tulips were in full bloom. The boat trip was totally pointless with very little to see of interest, and felt this day was just a fill in day.
Day three was a day spent in Amsterdam which was just okay for what it was.
After the third day I was violently sick with FOOD POISONING and vomited several times during the night, my wife started the same two days after me. We both are still feeling unwell despite being back at home. The only food that we ate in common was in the hotel BERGHOTEL AMERSFOORT breakfast and evening dinner.
I have travelled many times in the past with Leger but this is the first with Shearings and to sum this all up, this will be the last.
