Hopeless Tel Contact

Wanted info on crossing but had not yet made a booking. The telephone "AI" was simply hopelessly in adequate and is not programmed for enquiries without a booking reference. Shame on you Brittany Ferries for having such a disfunctional contact process.

Trading on Reputation

To sofa's and over £5K 3 years ago. Needed a repair after 3 weeks of use by us 2 pensioners. This enabled me to see the chipboard and mdf carcass which sorely disappointed us. Now, after some 6 years of use the sofa's are, to say the least, not fairing well with much sagging in the sprung seating and creaking frames. Trading on reputation and not worth the premium prices.

Half the Manufacturer's Warranty

Purchased a pair Scarpa Cyrus GTX walking shoes in March 2023 online. Scarpe, as a premium priced brand offer a standard 2 year warranty. One shoe has just lost its waterproof integrity. Telephoned customer service, who having examined my purchase order, told me to take the shoes to a store for them to be examined. Nearest store to me is Plymouth and as it's a 50 mile round trip for me, I telephoned the store and spoke to Sam who told me that the warranty should be fine and to bring the shoes in to speak to a manager. Visited the store the following day and, in a nutshell was somewhat abruptly told that they only provide a 12 month warranty and to contact Scarpa. I was none too pleased to a.) Have wasted time and petrol money to make a wasted trip and b.) to be told that Go Outdoors had sold me a premium product at a premium price but with only half the manufacturer's warranty. I turned to leave and was then told to "have a nice rest of the day". Absolutely disgusted.

Poor Product - Hopeless Return Service

Purchased a John Lewis brand microwave which seemed like good value - lasted just 2 weeks before it became impossible to stop the cooking time using the "Stop" button and switching it off at the mains made it impossible to reset the clock. Called JL to return the item and I am now on my 3rd, yes 3rd, arranged pick-up. The first with Hermes failed (never turned up), the second had to be cancelled (also) Hermes due to Hermes using wrong address. The third attempt was for today, allegedly with DPD but I have received no confirmation text from DPD and am now fed-up with phoning JL (over and hour on the phone) and waiting in all day for the thing to be picked-up. Product quality apart, as far as online purchase are concerned, John Lewis has a very very long way to go to match competitors - this is my last purchase - promise!!!!

I'm terribly sorry to see the issues you've been experiencing with the collections and also that your microwave only lasted a short period of time before developing problems. I can certainly appreciate how frustrating this all must be for you. I've had a look at your case notes and can see that you are now going to be returning the item to Waitrose and have been provided £20 as a goodwill gesture. Once the item has been returned back to us, you'll be contacted with further details. ^Amy
