The company is not good with communication, they picked up my pod today for a 600 mile destination for delivery on Oct 16th ,I've called many times today with huge waiting times ,one guy was very rude!
I asked if they could deliver the 15th instead, absolutely not, today is the 6th! They charged me $75 over the agreement price! I've never been treated so badly with a baited style of business. I should have gone with the bigger pod company, I was warned!!

Very disappointing experience with this company. We were supposed to have an 8 foot container delivered on a Friday and picked up the next day to arrive at our destination on a specific date. We had next to no communication about an estimated arrival time for the container, and did not receive it until about 7:30 pm. It also turns out that they had run out of 8 foot containers, so we got a 16 footer instead. Not a huge deal, but did require a little more effort from us to secure everything given all the empty space in the large container.
Well, we got it all packed and ready, then received a call about midday on Saturday delaying pickup until Monday because all their trucks were supposedly being repaired. After the container was finally picked up on Monday, we were then told it would arrive at our destination late. With 10 days to travel about 800 miles, you'd think they could make that time up somewhere along the way, but apparently not.
After all of these hassles, we were then hit with a $200 transportation surcharge. Information about this was buried in an order confirmation email, but it was most certainly not mentioned by the sales rep, even after I inquired if there would be any other taxes or additional fees added to their quote.
I am giving them a second star because the transportation surcharge was eventually refunded (but only after two phone calls and an email), and the drivers at our destination dropped off and picked up the container efficiently.
1800PACKRAT did provide a competitive rate, but unless you are willing to put up with a variety of inconveniences to save money, I would steer clear.

If I could give LESS than 1 star I would. This company is the biggest cluster fu€k ever. Customer service does not know what they’re doing and will tell you one thing while the clueless storage and delivery facility is totally unreliable. After having pods scheduled for delivery, they cancelled because their fork lift was broken ( only have one???) We had to cancel the scheduled movers, and spend the weekend in an empty house as our short term rental lease was up. To speak to anyone, plan on being hold for hours.( make sure you have a fully charged phone. You’ll need it)
….and OH IT GETS WORSE. After telling us our pod delivery would be delayed until Monday, we get a call on Sat at 7am that the pods would be there in 20 min. We RUSH to the new house to see an empty truck. The driver is there to PICK UP a pod?!? Pick up WHAT pod??? Again customer service says it’s on the way…oh no it isn’t… it will be Sunday…. Oh no it will probably be Monday.
We Will NEVER do business with them again
I hope their employees have future jobs lined up as I can see that this company is headed for bankruptcy. . If you are considering using Pack Rat, RUN!

I would strongly caution anyone considering 1-800-PACK-RAT. I used them to move materials from my showroom and purchased their insurance specifically because the rep assured me it would cover any damage that occurred during the move. I even asked detailed questions about how to properly pack everything, and the rep explained how the units stay level ("straight up and over") so items wouldn’t shift or fall.
Despite following their instructions, I ended up with over $10,000 in damages to quartz countertops, kitchen cabinets, and a hardware display. When I filed a claim, I promptly submitted all the documentation and photos they requested. Still, they denied the claim, saying it was due to “improper packing.” I followed their guidance exactly.
I appealed the decision, thinking there must’ve been a misunderstanding—but without asking for any new information or clarification, they denied it again, claiming they had done a "thorough investigation." That’s simply not true—they based their decision solely on the materials I provided. They did nothing to verify or investigate further.
This entire process has been extremely disappointing, and I feel misled and ignored. If you’re considering using 1-800-PACK-RAT and expect their insurance to protect your belongings, think twice. Their coverage is essentially useless, and their customer support is anything but helpful.

My container was delivered 10 days late, was charged misc fees which were then immediately removed when questioned. I specifically asked the drop off driver to use blocks before placing container on our BRAND NEW driveway (used Packrat once before and not placing blocks resulted in damage then as well) - he said he didn't need to - the result was 2 gashes in our driveway. I filed a claim which of course Pack Rat denied. Twice now I have trusted them to move my things, and twice I have had damaged driveways due to refusing to use blocks and Packrat will do nothing to remedy. The damage both times came from the laziness of their drivers to place blocks down instead of directly on driveway.

The customer service rep we booked through was thorough and explained accurately what we should expect and the cost. The pod was delivered when they said, picked up when they said and dropped off when they said. They had to leave the pod an extra day due to difficulties on their end but we were not charged for that. I would use them again.

This company doesn't deserve to even receive one star. Completely regret using Pack Rat. I moved from Florida to California and my container was supposed to arrive in 2 weeks. I called 2 days before the arrival date to confirm that it was on schedule and they said yes it would be delivered on time. Come the day of drop off, they never showed up. I took the day off work, hired movers, and all they could say was that they didn't have a driver and the warehouse would have my container delivered the next day. Absolutely unacceptable service. If they didn't have a driver, they should have called so that I could rearrange my schedule and the movers. Customer service is terrible and unhelpful. They don't hold their end of the contract and don't care about the inconvenience it causes. Moving is already stressful enough without the added expenses. I will never use this service again.

Booked date of 03/19/25 for a long distance move from Colorado to Florida - One 16ft Pod.
Scheduled delivery of on the of 30th of May.
After rushing to pack the pod for the long distance move to Florida to meet our deadline and making sure with customer service that they could pick up on 06/06/25 and shipped with the timeline of 10 business days.
On the original pick date, I logged into my account and seen that the pick up date changed to 9th without my knowledge.
I called customer service and spoke with someone who stated that the drivers couldn’t get that day and it needs to move. So it need got moved to the 9th, a little frustrated I accepted and was promised it would be picked up on the 9th.
The 9th came, and after sitting around all day, I called customer service again who stated it would be picked up between “330-730”. Again frustrated I said okay and waited, 730 came and still didn’t get picked up.
I called customer service AGAIN who stated “they couldn’t get to it today but they will be there on the 10th first thing in the morning”
The 10th came, still no one showed up I called customer service again who stated “I called the driver and they assured me your pod will be picked up between 12-2.”
So again I waited from 12-2, no one showed up or called. Called customer service Again who stated “pick up times are subject to change”
Then comes back after putting me on hold saying “no is answering” so you have to wait.
My POD is still hasn’t been picked up 5 days after the original scheduled appointment.
This company is horrible, the customer service is trash , the communication is terrible, they don’t help you and just push you off to the customer service agent.

First pod delivered with 10-foot open gash. Had replaced only to get charged again for delivery of expectable container. Dispatched scheduled three times for the delivery just to find out they had no idea where the container was for days bouncing around various parking lots, however, I could tell them as I had a tracking device in it. To top it all off upon pickup of container they swept out on my driveway packing peanuts everywhere.

At first, our experience was great. We had a pod delivered, filled it and had it put in storage until we make the move to our new house. We decided to get a second one. This time, the experience was horrible. Once again, we specifically stated we needed the pod as far over in our driveway to our neighbors house and near the doors near the grass by the fence. The female driver that came out to Marrero, LA around 1:30pm not only ignored these instructions, but when I pointed this out, she was rude as hell and refused to adjust the pod at all. My husband met with the manager to show on the security cameras the issue and essentially they didn't care. The driver who delivered was bragging about getting off early to go somewhere. No wonder she dropped it in the MIDDLE of our driveway so we can't even park in it - as I stated we needed to be able to do. Go with another company. This one is clearly garbage with incompetent people working here who can't follow directions. They want to charge you for a service, but do not fulfill it - yet the original driver who delivered had absolutely no issues the first time. The lady who came today only cared about dropping it INCORRECTLY and leaving. Save yourself the headache.

We recently scheduled a delivery with Pack Rat for 6/2/25 and received a confirmation email with that date. The container was for a client’s home renovation, and everything was planned around that delivery.
Unfortunately, Pack Rat made only one unsuccessful attempt to reach us by phone and never followed up. We later learned—without prior notice—that they were overbooked and wouldn’t be able to deliver until 6/4/25. In the context of a home remodel, where timing is critical, this last-minute change caused unnecessary delays and complications.
Their customer service was disappointing—uninterested and unhelpful. They offered a token $59 discount on the delivery fee but made no real effort to resolve the issue. Even worse, they couldn’t provide a delivery window for 6/4, leaving us uncertain about when—or if—the container would arrive.
If you're looking for reliable service and professional communication, I’d strongly recommend choosing another company.

If there was 0-star option, I'd select it. I haven't even gotten the container. Yet, I 've talked to 3 different people and got 3 different stories:<(. Yesterday, Rep 1 told me my container would be delivered toDAY. Today, Rep 2 said my container would be delivered between 11pm - 3am (which infers the container could be delivered TONIGHT (not today)…or the NEXT DAY. I asked fro an escalation and EVENTUALLY got Rep 3 – “the supervisor” who said the eta system was down and that my container would be delivered by 9pm. I asked her to call dispatch to ascertain (1) where I fell on the route, and (2) how many deliveries were already made. From there I could make my own loose eta estimations because I had movers on the clock awaiting the arrival of the container. She emphatically stated that she would NOT “BUG” the dispatch office with my request because she trusted what he said (the 9pm container drop off) and I’d just have to wait. I shared my safety concern – The packRATS require that I answer their 1 hour before arrival phone call and I MUST be present for the delivery. I advised that I did not find it normal business practice that they require single customers like myself to take a strange man’s call late in the evening and I have to meet this stranger (potentially in the dark) at my empty home. After some pressure of asking why I can’t leave in the notes how I wanted the container, she relented. Long story short, I was on THIS call – mostly holding for the supervisor for 2 hours to get nothing from people who were extremely condescending, unconcerned, and dismissive – sheesh! I would NEVER recommend this company for service, timeliness, transparency…or anything else. I requested a (higher) escalation call, which is supposed to happen within 24 hours. I'll keep you posted.
UPDATE: The supv to the supv called. I explained to her (as I did the others) that I had movers "on the clock" on standby awating the container. She states that 2 delivery trucks "alledgedly" broke down and my container would NOT be delivered until tomorrow. When I pressed for a specifc time window given they were not keeping the original commitment, she said between12 and 1. Let's see if this, in fact, happens tomorrow - stay tuned (smh).
UPDATE #2: The truck was delivered the next day. Let's see if they retreive it as promised. Hopefully, they'll keep their promise on the back end. Look for final update (hopefuly) tomorrow.

Nice initially to get the sale. I called the company for pickup and they told it would be 3 weeks before they could pickup the container, then another 10 days once it's picked up. Who can wait that long for their items? Please do not use this company if you want your items anytime soon. I've been moved for 2 weeks and still have to wait another 2 weeks to get my items. Save yourself this headache.

If it weren’t for the excellent customer service I received from the delivery driver I’d mark them as a 1-star. They have hidden costs everywhere and skirt them to avoid drawing attention to them. Was given one quote online (discount) but when I had them pickup the container they had a fee that wasn’t mentioned before and the pickup cost never shown. If they were more transparent in the billing and true cost I’d have rated them higher. Don’t do business with these shady individuals unless your willing to cut a blank check.

I hired packrat to move my belongings from Colorado to Arizona. As part of that process, they also included adding on the people to load and unload the pods during my initial phone call. The loaders were nice but did not take care of my belongings. Packrat has denied my claim of damages (including brand new furniture damaged). Packrat as a whole not taking responsibility for damage to items that were loaded by people as part of my agreement with you is not good business.
I would not recommend and would use another firm to move belongings if I had to do this over again.

Avoid at all costs and don't be lured in by the "cheaper" price. After coordinating drop off this week the driver left a 16' container with a large gash in the back wall in the middle of my driveway against my instructions. After calling them back to ask the container to be moved I was promised to be the "next stop" but after 3 different calls and people no one ever showed up. The next day I called and was promised to be the first stop to move the container, and once again no one showed up. To even speak to someone you will be put on hold over an hour, and after that they will do nothing for you or just lie to your face.

I was going to use Pack Rat but customer service is not there strong point. they jam unwanted products down your throat then when you call about it they transfer you and never pick up the phone. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT TO BE TOTALLY JERKED AROUND

Very difficult to schedule with them. Long wait times on hold. Website is a joke. One agent tells you one thing, like they can arrange a drop-off after 10am, then the next agent says “no, it has to be before 8am,” making it impossible to schedule helpers for loading and unloading. When you then need to book a long-distance move after a box is stored, they stick it to you on pricing to where it’s cheaper to have a moving company go unload the box at the depot and ship it.

They will tell you they are going to delivery the unit on this date and there is no responsibility to uphold their word. We received our unit 5 days later from the original date. We rented the pod because our home flooded in hurricane Helene. The pod was in our driveway for hurricane Milton and the roof of it flew off and dented our garage. We have to get a new garage door. They refused to take any responsibility or cover the damages because, no joke: it was an "act of god" that caused it. This is unacceptable for a company that claims to provide secure storage solutions. If you value your property, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. There are plenty of other unit companies. Their lack of accountability is beyond disappointing. To make matters worse, they charged us to have the broken unit picked up and have a new one dropped off. We had to go in circles to get that refunded. Read their contract carefully—it's so broad it should be illegal. They disclaim all responsibility and accept zero liability for anything. Make sure you know what you're getting into.
