I have been shopping for a bike for my…

I have been shopping for a bike for my son's 10th bday. Settled on a Norco Storm with an upgrade to hydraulic brakes. The advice and support throughout the process on the 0800 number and from the team at Takapuna has been exceptional. I've found them knowledgable and patient, and they've appeared genuinely interested in ensuring we get the right bike for his riding. If i could give them 6 stars out of the 5 i would!

Ordered a part on line

Ordered a part on line. The part arrived quickly but it was the wrong part. They responded to me email initially saying they would sort it, then never heard back despite several emails to their help desk. Sill have no answer after 2 weeks

Horrible service

We took our Hiko bike in to get the light fixed which we then had to contact hiko bikes ourself to get the part sent to 99 bikes northwood to then be told the light has been fixed but now ur pedal assist doesn't work then wrong parts getting sent etc, 3 weeks later the bike is in the shop as the manager had a week of and no one could make a decision on what to do. They say it is out of there hands to fix but in reality its been in there hands and has now got more issues then when dropped off. The hiko bikes manufacturer in Auckland cant be reached to get this sorted out which has now ruined our Christmas as we had booked in to go away and do all the trails down south. We have since canceled our new purchase of a hiko bike as the service is terrible and dont want to have this issue again they have completely ruined our Christmas as they can go on to enjoy theres.

I bought four MTB tyres online

Edited: I bought four MTB tyres online. The shop sent two parcels from two separate locations which contained only three tyres. After a few emails with the helpline they didn't respond anymore. Right after I posted this review, I was told they would send a new one but that didn't happen because it was out of stock. Today (3 weeks later) I got a refund for the missing tyre.

I took my E bike in to Takapuna as…

I took my E bike in to Takapuna as speedo not working. They wanted me to spend more than half the value of the bike on a possible repair, then more (to the value of bike) if that didn't work. They would not do a sales and return should the replacement did not correct the problem
Communication was very poor, forever chasing them. Eventually drove in and just claimed the bike back. No apologies or explanation given

I was interested in an Orbea Wild…

I was interested in an Orbea Wild ebike, I phoned 99bikes in Winchester, spoke to James, they had one sent to store for me to try and test ride, James organised it all. I decided I wanted to buy one, James went above & beyond helping me through the whole process of ordering it getting all the optional upgrade parts added, he even kindly sorted out delivering to my door step. I can’t recommend 99bikes high enough. I’m going to continue to use them for as long as I can. Many thanks for all your hard work James.

Poor communication and service

I have ordered twice to the shop online in the same week. The first order arrived very fast. The second order was shipped without any information, and as it was not coming, I contacted customer service. After a few messages, I got a reply I would be updated on the order, but I never got any other reply. Hopefully, the order arrived at some point, but the communication issue doesn't give any trust in dealing with any kind of problem with them.

Bought a brand new sunglasses, got a sample one instead! Twice!

Few months ago I bought a pair of 100% sunglasses from 99bikes NZ. Of cause you would expect the product to be brandnew but they sent me a sample one instead!, which had lots of wear and tear all over the frame. So I dealt with one of their customer service, which wasnt that great either. It took a week untill received a replacement, thankfully. Last week I placed another order for a pair of glasses for my girlfriend. Everything was running smooth. The sunglasses arrived very fast, but! It turned out I received a sample one again! Full of fingerprints, no plastic cover, what a freaking joke!

Extremely poor service!

They make you join their club first and pay for this $5. Only then you are allowed to apply for a price match online.
However, they do not reply to emails, they never replied to my inquiry on their website about their price match (minus those 5% as promised- WHY not?!?) and their phone number always says there is no one "currently" available.
Extremely poor service!
