Tru Sculpt
I had tru sculpt treatments done. It was very expensive and I was lead to believe that I should expect around av25% reduction. My results were very small. I talked with the nurse about how disappointed I was in my results. She agreed with me that there was minimal change after the treatments. I was told to exercise! If that had worked prior to the treatments, I would have not had the treatments! I expected a partial refund or the offer to try the treatments again. I cannot recommend this treatment or company. If you have a problem you are on your own. They do not stand behind their work.
The billing department has incompetent…
The billing department has incompetent people.
I had services provided on 7/1/2025 and they submitted a claim form to my Medicare supplement carrier. Unfortunately they only submitted the claim form and they did not submit the required document called the Standard Medicare Remittance Advice Since my Medicare carrier could not determine their liability until they knew what Medicare had paid two advanced dermatology .
When I spoke to the three customer services representatives reference below they all told me that they had submitted the proper paperwork and that my insurance company was ignoring them and I knew that that was not correct. In other words I knew the mistake was on their end not on my supplement insurance carrier's end but they refuse to accept that analysis.
My supplemental insurance company sent them 3 letters in October of 2025 telling them what they needed to do to get that claim paid. They completely ignored the letters and instead decided to send me several bills telling me that I had to pay it. I wrote a letter to my supplement carrier explaining the situation and then called them for a follow up and they told me about the letters that they had sent that had been ignored.
3 customer service representatives from Advanced Dermatology called me and basically lied to me and told me three different stories. I finally ended up paying the $98 bill myself just so they wouldn't turn me over to a collection agency.
I have now told them what they needed to do in order to get my supplement insurance carrier to pay their share of the bill which would be the $98 so that they could give me a reimbursement on the money I sent them. I left a message telling them what needed to be done because nobody answered the phone and we will see what happens. I expect my called will be ignored.
I have spent hundreds and hundreds of dollars worth of my time and I will never use Advanced Dermatology again so if you are you better make sure they submit the proper documentation to get any claims paid by your insurance company or companies.
My son’s doctor sent a referral to this…
My son’s doctor sent a referral to this place and I’ve been receiving calls and texts non stop. No need for this kind of volume of calls and pressure. People call when they feel like and or when they can. Stop the harassment. You already lost my kids and myself as patients of you.
Terrible online store
Terrible online store — do NOT buy your skincare here.
I ordered two serums that are essential to my routine on 2/6, and my order didn’t even ship until 2/20 because a “free gift” I never asked for was out of stock. That makes zero sense — why would you delay a paid order over a free item?
As a result, I’ve now been without my serums for over two weeks. When I tried to cancel due to the delay, they claimed my order was already packaged (which clearly wasn’t, since it hadn’t shipped yet). Now it isn’t expected to arrive until 2/27 — when I’ll be out of town.
Really frustrating experience and poor customer service. I won’t be ordering from them again.
I will never be caught dead in this…
I will never be caught dead in this office again. I am being harassed with a slew of calls, emails and fake bills since my visit. And it seems no one "can" do anything until I write a review so here is hoping someone in the office actually sees this and will respond. I called to schedule an appointment and check my insurance for eligibility. I was given an appointment and told my co-payment was $10. When I arrived, I made sure I checked again. I paid the $10 co-payment. I saw the doctor, one for a darker skin- area on my elbow and for hair falling out. I was told that the doctor cannot see me for both in one visit!!! First red flag, so you want me to come back so you can get another office visit. On my second visit I made sure I checked again on the insurance coverage and was again charged the $10 specialist co-payment. Low and behold, they waited until after both visits to hit me with an enormous bill and thus began the harassment. I was send bills by mail, by email and by calls that told me that the insurance denied to claim as they are not a provider for my insurance!!! BUT I ASKED YOU THIS OVER AND OVER BEFORE AND AT BOTH VISITS!!! They informed me that I still had to pay the bill as there is nothing they could be. They said they acted on what my insurance told them at the time of my visit and are not responsible if they received that info. BUT DON'T YOU KNOW THE LIST OF INSURANCES YOU TAKE???? AND THEREFORE KNOW THE ONES THAT YOU SHOULD INFORM YOUR PATIENTS THAT THEY ARE OUT OF NETWORK ESPECIALLY THOSE THAT CALL AND ASK AND THOSE THAT CHECK WITH YOU ON THE DAY OF THE OFFICE VISIT BEFORE GOING IN TO SEE THE DOCTOR?? This went on for months. Then they finally decide to come forward and be honest. HERE IS WHAT MY INSURANCE CLAIM REVEALED:
Care received
Office O/P Est Mod 30 Min
$446.00
$436.00
$10.00
Total
$446.00
INSURANCE PAYS $436.00
PATIENT COPAYMENT $10.00
This copayment i paid in the office BEFORE services rendered. Yet now I am still being harassed to pay this $10 for each visit again. Despite that I spoke to someone in the office and they said they saw that I paid this when I was in the office before seeing the doctor but the mails and emails still persists. This company is a bunch of crooks and have caused me serious blood pressure issues with their harassment. I wish I never ever went to this awful office and will never ever go back there even if they were the last doctors on this earth. They find every way to swindle money and harass those unfortunate to visit. I think they are greedy and withhold information intentionally in order to get more money from people. From the reviews, I understand that this billing problems are normal occurrences. Almost a year later and I am being harassed now over the $10 copayment which I paid at the office visit. I am in disbelief. They are jus terrible,
10/10 Do NOT Recommend
My concern with Advanced Dermatology is not the medical providers, but the front office operations, administrative controls, and insurance verification practices, which created repeated and unnecessary barriers to care.
At my most recent visit, I was denied paperwork that had already been completed and documented at a prior appointment. I was also informed that my insurance could not be verified without presenting a specific insurance card, despite providing alternate documentation containing identical member and policy information.
Rather than utilizing standard verification methods—such as direct payer confirmation or internal verification protocols—front office staff declined to do so and instead refused the appointment.
This approach reflects inadequate training, insufficient escalation pathways, and inconsistent application of verification procedures. Denying access to scheduled care based on avoidable administrative inflexibility raises access-to-care, compliance, and patient-rights concerns, and suggests a breakdown in adherence to commonly accepted healthcare administrative standards.
I would advise prospective patients to seek care elsewhere unless they are prepared to navigate unnecessary administrative obstacles and unprofessional front-office interactions. I strongly encourage management to review staff training, documentation retention practices, insurance verification workflows, and compliance oversight, as this experience appears to warrant formal operational and compliance review.
Scheduled an appoint two months in…
Scheduled an appoint two months in advance. Arrived to appointment paid my co pay and took me to exam room told me the Dr would be someone else other than who I scheduled with. They said the Dr I scheduled with was on maternity leave.
I asked for a refund, as I wanted to see the Dr i scheduled with. They said they could not refund me it had to go to the billing dept. They would decide? I told them they should have let me know the Dr was not there and let me decide if I wanted to reschedule. Don’t fraudulently take my money and then tell me after waiting in waiting room and then going into exam room. This place is a joke. Will be turning them in to the attorney generals office
Dr Grekin is awesome
I had an excellent experience at Advanced Dermatology in Michigan The staff was welcoming, the check-in process was efficient, and I was seen right on time. DR Grekin took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel comfortable throughout the visit. The clinic is clean, modern, and truly focused on patient care.
Cancer removal disaster
Getting ready to post this is AI rewrite.
October 13:Advanced Dermatology scheduled my husband for a skin cancer removal at their Ormond Beach facility. He’s on Eloquis, and we were advised that he didn’t need to stop taking it before the procedure. The cancer was behind his ear, and Dr. Schultze (Advanced Dermatology) removed it. We were at the facility from 11 AM to 3 PM.
At 6 PM, my husband woke from a nap and was drenched in blood. By 8 PM, we were in the emergency room with profuse bleeding. The ER doctor temporarily stopped the bleeding, and we returned home at 11 PM.
At 3 AM, we had to call 911 again because he was bleeding profusely and too weak to get out of bed. Upon arrival at the hospital, the ER doctor put in four stitches, and the bleeding stopped completely. He was admitted to the hospital and given a unit of blood.
Every doctor who examined him couldn’t understand why any doctor would leave such a large hole. He was released from the hospital on Wednesday.
As a side note, Advanced Dermatology called to do the routine follow-up call on Tuesday to see how he was doing. I told the lady who called about our experience. Shortly after that, Olivia, the office manager, called to hear the nightmare story. She was supposed to follow up and get back to us to explain why this was such a fiasco.
One month later, and a lot of incurred cost caused by what I consider a case of malpractice, Advanced Dermatology has not had the courtesy nor compassion to address this matter.
Do not put yourself at risk with this company. They are strictly a big business, not a medical organization. They only care about the dollar, not the person.
The first time I went there they put me…
The first time I went there they put me in an exam room and left me there for 45 minutes with the little paper robe on, The air conditioning was running and I was cold. I finally opened the door and the girls were just sitting there . I asked if the Dr. was ever coming to see me. They forgot I was there and didn't tell her and nobody checked on a closed door. They did a biopsy on my cheek and it was cancerous. They gave me cream to put on for two months.
I received a bill in the mail stating that I owed them $700, that insurance covered $76.30, that provider adjusted -$544.70, and that I paid -$66.12, and that I owed $13.54, which I paid.
I called the bill payment line and asked for a detailed bill stating what $700was for. She kept telling me that it was all paid for and I said I knew it was, but I wanted to know exactly what it cost entailed. She was very evasive and finally she said she would send me an itemized bill on email. I tried three times to open the pdf file and it wouldn't open. I called back and told her to send it to me in the mail. She said it would take 2 to 3 weeks before I would get it. I told her I shouldn't have had such an awful time just to get an itemized bill. Their billing is very unorganized. I think there was some kind of scam where they could charge way too much so the insurance would pay it. When my insurance didn't pay enough they gave me money off saying it was provider adjusted. To me , this is unacceptable and I will be looking for another dermatologist to go to.
Procedure beware amount!!! Get it in writing and even that might not work!!!!
I did not have any issues or any complaints against the doctor that I saw. But I will tell you that this is not the first time that this office has done this. They usually quote you a price. They stand by it and when it's time for the actual procedure, you are quoted a different price. Later on you will billed even more, stand clear on what amount you are responsible for. Beware it took me almost a month to save up for what they were actually quoting me. How in their right mind would they think that I can just pull out an extra $150? Karma always plays a role.....
Absolutely Appalling Experience — Avoid at All Costs
I went to Advanced Dermatology and Cosmetic Surgery expecting professional care. What I got instead was a $90 copay flushed down the drain and a cascade of incompetence. I came in to have milia removed. After a brief glance, they told me they couldn’t do anything and referred me to their University office — no treatment, no effort, just a shrug and a bill.
Trying to salvage the appointment, I asked about a spider vein on my leg. Another flat “we don’t do that.” Desperate not to walk away empty-handed, I asked about my thinning hair. The PA scribbled a prescription for a product from a pharmacy I’d never heard of — SKNV — which isn’t even available at CVS or Walgreens. Later, I discovered the topical formula they prescribed is highly toxic to pets. I called the next day to request an oral alternative. They said they’d relay the message to the PA and it would be handled “right away.”
It’s now Friday. No callback. No update. I called again and was told no one else in the office could help — I’d have to wait until next Tuesday when the PA returns. That’s a full week of radio silence over a potentially dangerous prescription.
To top it off, I saw another doctor next door who immediately diagnosed the bumps as cysts, not milia, and removed them that same day. So not only was Advanced Dermatology useless — they were wrong.
This office is a masterclass in wasted time, poor communication, and zero accountability. I will never return, and I strongly urge anyone considering them to run the other way. If you value your time, money, or health, steer clear of this place and anyone affiliated with it.
Charging for missing appointment even when you call to cancel
The office in Ocala called me to reschedule an appointment which I did. I had a conflict with scheduled date and called them twice and left messages. They charged me $50 for missing the appointment. This office is more focused on collecting fees then the peoples care! So I'm paying it to avoid collections even though I tried to cancel twice.
Let Public beware
Dishonest, deceptive, retaliatory, especially Dr. Kaniszewska.
She has advertising everywhere that she is a very proficient surgeon, which is far from the truth.
They also have billing issue and are distorting a medical history.
Let Public Beware!
Dishonest phone rep
I scheduled an appointment for my teen who suffers with severe acne. As a new patient the process seemed okay until I received a call from a staff member who clearly lied about calling me to change the appointment. Being told that she called and left a message on my cellular phone when there is no record of a call or a message was quite insulting. She’d call to tell me they double booked his appointment and didn’t offer anything until several weeks later. As a working parent carving out my schedule around appointments and work really inconvenienced me. I think I would have been more understanding had the rep not lied about calling previously. This is the 1107 Bethelham pike location.
I was treated rudely by their staff.
I was treated rudely by their staff.
Then I was blamed for their incompetence.
Use Modern Dermatology instead.
Stay Away
Stay Away! I was told 3 times that the follow-up would be free and when I went scheduled it, they had availability in just two weeks but when I asked to confirm it would be free, the first available was an additional 6 weeks! Then after the appointment, they argued with me and demanded $84. Then they charged me a 3% surcharge without asking. Unethical business practices. Do not do business with this company.
My co pay wasn’t enough for this hungry…
My co pay wasn’t enough for this hungry corporation so they charged me a 3% fee for processing. No advanced notice just steal it. Another corrupt health care provider.
Disorganized and unprofessional
The VA assured me that they faxed an approval letter to Advanced Dermatology. So, I proceeded to schedule a telephone appointment. I called and found myself spending over 20 minutes trying to schedule a DIGITAL APPOINTMENT. I arrived on time only to be told that they NEVER RECEIVED a letter from the VA. I followed up with a call to my VA and they assured me that a letter was sent. The same thing happened two weeks later. I told the VA that I needed to bring with me an approval letter. Which I did. Now this is my 3rd visit. I was again REJECTED by the rude office manager. Who said that my letter did NOT have proper authorization. The VA assured me that the authorization code was already faxed to this office. I find Advanced Dermatology to be extremely disorganized and unprofessional and a serious waste of my time. I have since changed my dermatology doctors. The last visit ......I witnessed someone complaining about a 3% required credit charge cost. Advanced Dermatology should be avoided at all cost.
One star is too many
One star is too many. My appointment was at 10:15. Finally 40 minutes later I approached the desk. It seems they forgot me. Other people after me were going in before me. They overbook people. I asked for a refund and left. Never will I go there again.
