I almost called the police on their worker!
I had the most horrible experience with them after SO Energy dispatched an AES worker to install a smart gas meter at my property. Currently, I filled a formal complaint for the meter installation work done by the AES worker and the "service" I received from that person.
A few hours after the installation I noticed that there was no gas reaching my property. I contacted via phone the worker that had done the installation and explained the situation. We had several back and forth with him over the phone, and I sent him pictures that he requested and I kept on doing the checks that he was advising me to do. All along, I stressed that a professional intervention was needed urgently, but he did not come. Shortly after 5pm, the worker told me over the phone that the SO Energy service would take care of it now, and that I had to call the emergency line. But as I quickly realised, there is no emergency number from SO Energy (only an email, that I used, and to which there was no reply ever). After pointing out over the phone to the worker that there was no number to call, he reiterated that there is a number but that he did not have it, and after that he simply turned off his phone.
The day after, before SO Energy business hours (7:30am or so), the worker sent me a message asking for an additional photo, that I promptly send. He then said that he might have realised what he did wrong and that he would come. To that message I replied asking when he would come. The worker never replied giving me a time for him coming nor confirming that he actually would come. By then, I had lost all trust in him and shortly after 9am I contacted SO Energy, that dispatched an engineer.
At about 1pm of the day after the istallation the worker that had originally caused the problem showed up: I literally found him by the gas meter doing I don’t know what exactly. I informed the worker that an engineer dispatched by So Energy was on his way. In response he berated me telling that I was not supposed to call SO Energy since, 24 hours after leaving me without gas first, and hanging second, he had told me that he would come. I then invited him to leave the premisses since he was not authorised to be there, but he would not leave, becoming increasingly abusive. Fortunately, the SO Energey engineer arrived, and convinced the worker to leave the premisses - I was shaken and on the brink of calling the police at that point.
Let me add that we have a small child, that could not spend the night in a freezing house without heating and had to stay at friends for the night and washing in the morning. Furthermore, the incompetent work carried on the first day forced me to deal with this issues for the second day in a row - hence having to miss my work. And finally, I find it very distressful to know that AES sends workers that not only are incompetent for carrying out their work, but also are thuggish and aggressive, leave their work unfinished and leave the customers without gas for more than a day, and that wold not leave the property when invited to do so repeatedly, and would blame me for reporting the issue to SO Energy.
Given the above, I would expect a respectable company to put in place remedially actions. And to the very least: 1) black list the worker to coming to our postcode since, given his behaviour, he is not considered a safe person to be let in our gated community; 2) to undertake disciplinary actions toward the worker carrying the works - such a behaviour would warrant dismissal in any respectable company. Consequently, I'm filing a formal complaint.

Terrible company customer service not good
Terrible company customer service very lacking when you phone you just get waffle you are waiting for a engineer but they carnt tell you when that will be six days with no EV charger and no idea when some one is coming to fix it how you are supposed to get a date and when it’s going to be repaired still left in the dark thinking of getting some one my self and send them the bill also Ohme use them to fit there EV charger if you have with there the same pass the buck if you have a fault even though you bought from them .

Disappointed with the service levels…
Disappointed with the service levels from this company. Smart meter installs booked months ago, seemingly endless reminders from them via text and email to make sure we are prepared - and then 20 minutes before the engineer is due, I receive a call to say that today's visit is CANCELLED. Whether due to sickness or whatever, there should be more resiliance in their system to cope with problems. All of my calendar changes to support this visit today are now wasted. Thanks a lot AES.
Update: This was rearranged for 7th November - and has AGAIN BEEN CANCELLED AT SHORT NOTICE, this time about mid-way through the booking timeslot. We've re-arranged again, now for 21st November. We'll see whether this one happens.
Update 2: This was rearranged for 19th December. However, this has again been cancelled part-way through the booking timeslot. This is now my THIRD CANCELLATION. I will not be rebooking with AES and have asked Octopus to arrange an alternative meter supplier - else I'll stick with my old meters.
BTW, I have not been contacted at anytime by anyone from the Customer Relations team as AES stated in their response. This seems to their standard response to poor reviews - to give the impression that they care...

terrible service all round
AES came out to fit a smart meter on behalf of octopus. Technician couldn't open my main fuse and said i needed a new one from the electric board. Waited 4 weeks for the electric board to come and they opened it immediately said there was no issues with my main fuse what so ever and a complete waste of their time.
Trying now to arrange for AES to come back. No one ever answers the phone - you wait 20min minutes plus listening to music - this is the worst company i have dealt with for a long time.

Had meter fitted Saturday,Engineer Ian plugged in the IHM told me it would take up to 20 minutes to connect with the meter.He then left the instruction sheet and went.7 days later still waiting for it to connect,followed tips moving it all round the kitchen,it’s about half a meter away and still won’t connect.Emails Phone calls,neither So Energy or AES seem to take any responsibility for the problem. Been constantly lied to. My recommendation : Don’t use any of these companies. Now October 31st, still waiting for someone to contact me from AES.

WHY DOES ANYONE USE THIS COMPANY?
Ordered smart meters for power/gas. Three engineers later and plenty of my time wasted and here I am waiting (13:37) for a 0800-1200 visit.
But..... their engineer MA arrived. He put right previous errors and fitted a new meter, leaving it all working. It doesn't mean the company is good, but it certainly means that this guy is!!

Came to my house without appointment on the day to fit a smart meter .After a hour he turn on the electric and power serged my inverter on my solar panels 3 months later still sending emails they don't want to put there hand and the electrian that fitted it ran up the drive and I had to put out the fire.

On the 22nd August an AES Technician…
On the 22nd August an AES Technician arrived to install two new meters. He was unable to commission the new smart meter device. I contacted SO Energy to report the fact that the smart meter was not yet working but it’s still not been commissioned. We would like to keep track of our fuel spending but we can’t because this second generation smart meter still doesn’t work. Not happy!!

Engineer, Ionut, arrived exactly on time discussed the process and where and how the EVCP could be located, pros and cons, etc. completed the installation quickly and efficiently. Excellent service from everyone at AES.

The worst company ever.
The worst company ever to have install any form of EVCP.
A track record of no communication, track record of not providing quotes and a track record of lies.
Hopefully the Government will revoke them being able to install any equipment.
