Horrible Travel
I will never fly this airline again. We took a Air India non stop flight to Delhi on 19th February 2026 . Our seats could not recline for this 15 hrs flight to Delhi. Our TV monitor was broken and did not work. There was no charging port on the screen as this was broken as well. The charging port below the seat never worked. All of this for 15 hours. And now imagine this doing this trip back on March 3rd. Its the same on our trip back. How does one even keep himself engaged for 15 hrs doing nothing and with broken seats. HORRIBLE TRIP. And Mr Shanu from Customer Relations responds to my email complaint and tells me they did a detailed review and found nothing wrong. You know Tata's may have taken over this Airline company, but they also took over a rotten group of baggage that came with the planes.

I recently flew with Air India and had a fairly mixed experience. On the positive side, the check-in staff were courteous and efficient, and I appreciated the generous baggage allowance. However, the in-flight service left much to be desired—the cabin felt quite dated, and the entertainment system was not fully functional. The food was average, and there were long delays in meal service. Overall, it was acceptable for the price, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Direct flight not worth it
I bought this flight as it was the only direct from Delhi to Melbourne. It was an awful experience. No entertainment screens worked, no plugs worked. I wish they had given us a heads up so I would make sure my devices were charged. 11 1/2 hours with no entertainment.

Volo DHL-MXP in Business. All'imbarco mi comunicano che il posto da me prenotato vicino a mio marito non era disponibile in quanto il sedile era bloccato. Diversi passeggeri viaggiavano da soli ma l'equipaggio non si è adoperato per fare spostare qualcuno per farci sedere vicino. Alle mie proteste mi hanno fatto firmare un foglio in cui accettavo un compenso del 35% del mio biglietto. Oggi mi è arrivata una mail con l'offerta di un voucher in rupie indiane da spendere unicamente con i servizi di Air India. Una vera presa in giro! Per non parlare dei monitor, dei pulsanti luci non funzionanti e del personale di cabina che il più delle volte non rispondeva alle chiamate.

Bad Experience
My first journey with Air India and probably the last. Flight attendants were not friendly, their tones sounded sarcastic They were all frowning. Flight entertainment was out of order. It’s torture when you have a 9 hr flight. Seats were broken. Meal was not good. The chicken in non-veg was so hard and dry as well as the bread. The interior of the plane is old and untidy. Air India—- Such a disappointment!!!!!

I flew from Uk(gatwick) airport to Ahmedabad non-stop flight on 9th April and it was delayed.
First 8PM then approx 9:30PM, when got boarding pass they told it is delay and time is 11:50pm and Air india given us food vouchers and that is great experience.
After that time again delayed to 00:30am.
Finally we entered into Plane at 00:30am and flight was not ready to fly. And finally it flew around 01:30am.
We all passengers were tired because of unnecessary waiting for this long.
BUT Here was a game changing happened.
The Staff in the plane was awesome.
Special treatment and services they served it was marvelous. also they co-operate in all situations. We enjoyed a lot in the Plane. We all majority passengers come to know each other while enjoying journey and all staff never lied down us. Whenever whatever we demanded food, water, soft drinks, hard drinks all time immediately attended without any hesitation and with the smiling faces.
We all given claps for whole crew and we specifically asked all the staffs name to write down in my this review.
We expect Air india to please give them some benefits to those staff, I am writing their names below here.

Formal Complaint Regarding Extremely Poor Service – Air India Business Class (Booking Ref: AMHUST)
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Suman, and I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the extremely poor and unacceptable service I experienced while travelling from London Heathrow to Delhi on an Air India flight AI 2018 (Booking Reference: AMHUST, Seat: 3F).
I had booked a Business Class ticket, expecting a high standard of service. However, my experience was completely disappointing, stressful, and unprofessional from start to finish.
Firstly, my flight was originally scheduled for 8:40 PM, and I received an email stating it was delayed by 40 minutes. To confirm, I contacted Air India customer care in the UK. I was given conflicting and incorrect information regarding the departure time, which created confusion.
Around 6 PM, I specifically asked the customer service executive about the latest check-in and boarding time. I clearly informed them that I would arrive at the airport around 8:30 PM (approximately 50 minutes before departure). I was assured that, as a Business Class passenger, I would receive priority check-in and that this timing would be acceptable.
However, upon arriving at Heathrow Airport at approximately 8:25 PM, I was shocked to be told at the counter that check-in was closed and that I would not be issued a boarding pass. Despite explaining my prior conversation with customer care and my Business Class entitlement, the Airport Duty Manager, Mr. Sarvanakumar, behaved in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner.
He refused to assist me, stated that even Business Class passengers would not be accommodated, and shockingly demanded extra payment to allow check-in baggage. This was completely unjustified, as my ticket already included baggage allowance.
When I questioned this, he became aggressive and disrespectful. When I asked for his name and informed him I would file a complaint, he responded with abusive language, saying “bad word” and that he did not care about any complaint. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
Due to his actions, I was put under extreme stress and was forced to rush unnecessarily. He also instructed the gate staff to close boarding if I did not reach by 9:00 PM.
To make matters worse, I witnessed another passenger with a Business Class ticket being allowed to check in and drop baggage after 9:00 PM, simply because they had an Air India staff reference. This clearly indicates biased and discriminatory behaviour.
Even after boarding, the issues continued. My Business Class seat (3F) had a faulty cabin slider, meaning I did not receive the privacy and comfort I had paid for. Despite raising this with the cabin crew and requesting to speak with a manager, no one attended to my concern.
I paid over £1600 for this ticket and received one of the worst travel experiences of my life. Additionally, my luggage remains at Heathrow Airport due to the earlier refusal to check it in.
This entire experience reflects extremely poor service standards, lack of professionalism, and unacceptable customer treatment.
I have supporting evidence, including photos and records, and I request:
A full investigation into the behaviour of Mr. Sarvanakumar
An explanation for the inconsistent and misleading information provided
Compensation for the distress, inconvenience, and service failure
Immediate assistance regarding my stranded luggage
Please treat this matter with urgency. I expect a prompt and serious response.

Nebeneinander liegende Sitzplatzwahl beim Online Check-in für uns nur gegen Gebühr möglich
Es ist jetzt 2 Tage vor Abflug und wir können nur gegen Gebühr beim Online Check-in sicher nebeneinandersitzen. Das kenne ich sonst nur von Billigairlines. Ein kostenloser Online Check-in war also weitestgehend nur ohne feste Sitzplätze möglich da das Kontingent für kostenfreie nebeneinaberliegende Sitzplätze bereits erschöpft war.
Air india PLUS JAMAIS !!!
le 27 mars 2026, nous devions effectuer un voyage avec Air india, de Paris à Phuket, avec une escale d'1 h à Delhi. Départ le matin et arrivée prévue le lendemain matin (super pour profiter du premier jour de vacance). On nous change le vol 3 jours avant pour finalement un départ à 20h00 et une arrivée à 19h30 le lendemain. Déjà au départ, le premier vol accuse 4h de retard, et l'escale d'1 heure se transforme en 3h30. A Delhi les mesures de sécurités sont tellement bordeliques que nous arrivons à la porte du second avion, 1 minute avant sa fermeture (avec une personne agée de 83 ans, obligée de courir pour ne pas rater l'avion et tout celà à cause du personnel de l'aeroport).
Dans l'avion, aucun écran ne fonctionne, l'avion est vintage, le personnel mal aimable et nous récupérons nos valises, à l'arrivée, toutes rayées. Nous arrivons à phuket à 22h00 le lendemain au lieu des 8h30 prévues. Première journée de vacances ratée.
Au retour on nous annonce 2 jours avant que nous devrons partir la veille de notre retour prévu et que notre escale durera ...10h !!! au lieu des 1 heure prévues. Dernier jour de vacance raté et nuité d'hôtel perdue !! Cette fois ci pas de retard des avions, mais pareil: aucun écran ne fonctionne dans l'avion, le personnel n'est pas aimable, on ne peut pas lire car il est impossible d'activer la lumière individuelle, les prises pour les tablettes ne fonctionnent pas, nous avons les mêmes repas sur les deux vols et au final notre voyage retour aura duré 30 heures (en comptant les 3 heures avant enregistrement. Une catastrophe. Et je passe les mesures de sécurité et de douane à Delhi qui sont un bordel comme on en voit plus dans les aéroports, avec un personnel détestable. bref plus jamais Air India, qui en plus, se moque carrément des critiques et de ses clients.

Air India ændrede tidspunkter for afrejse flere gange og til sidst med en ændring på 24 timer, så vi både mistede en dag på ferien men også skulle tilbringe over 24 timer i Delhi. Da vi ankommer til lufthavnen får vi så oplyst, at vi ikke kan boarde til Delhi, fordi transit er over 24 timer, hvilket kundeservice ikke havde oplyst os om. Jeg havde forsøgt at blive ombooket da jeg snakkede med dem, men der var ingen alternativer. Det var så ikke tilfældet da vi først stod i lufthavnen, men det betød 2 x misset hotel og flyvninger med 2 stop i stedet for 1. Kan på ingen måde anbefale Air India!

Avoid at all costs!!! Wish I could give zero stars. I had 4 flights with them last month and it was the worst flying experience I’ve ever had. Long lines to check in/ drop bags, the planes were incredibly old and falling apart, my screen didn’t work on my 11 hour flight and they offered nothing as economy was full and refused to move me to an open premium economy seat, the food was disgusting and offered just one meal and one snack for the 11 hours. Also experienced god awful turbulence which isn’t their fault however the plane was in such terrible shape I honestly thought it would crash. Tried contacting customer service multiple times and they completely ignore you and refused to respond.

Air india cancelled my flight , it took them 16 days to get me on another flight home , i had to pay for hotels food ect , i contacted air india for a certificate to give my travel insurance , but the statement only said flight cancelled , did not give a reason why ( travel insurance need a written reason ) , so i phoned air india was on phone for 20 minuets , the agent said he would send a link , but this link only gave access to a bot that went around in circles , no live help except by phoning and then sent useless link that does nothing , i am very dissatisfied with air india , i need a written reason to be able to claim on my insurance and they are not giving any support or help , VERY POOR SERVICE

Ein Stern ist noch zu viel. Niemals wieder würden wir mit dieser Airline fliegen. Auf dem Hinflug wurden zweimal unsere Flüge von Frankfurt nach Delhi gecancelt, während wir bereits im Flugzeug saßen und auf die Startbahn rollten. Zwei Nächte mussten wir dadurch in Frankfurt übernachten. Wir haben kaum Informationen bekommen und es war keiner ansprechbar. Nach 65 Stunden in Indien angekommen, wurde uns schon mitgeteilt, dass der Rückflug gecancelt wird und wir einen neuen Flug bekommen mit dem wir einen ganzen Tag wieder verlieren. Wir versuchten den Kundenservice zu erreichen und wurden nur von Person zu Person weitergereicht. Wir teilten unsere Flugalternative mit, aber der Mitarbeiter machte einen Fehler und buchte uns noch früher um, sodass wir 24 Stunden verloren. Diesen Fehler sah Air India nach insgesamt 6 Stunden Telefonaten (mit Unterbrechung) und zwischenzeitlichen Zustimmung, dass der Fehler auf ihrer Seite lag, letztendlich (doch) nicht ein. So verloren wir insgesamt 3 volle Tage. Und mindestens einen Tag mit Kommunikation.
