Low quality build

I bought a pair of AKG K371 in Australia for AUD290.
Although the sound quality is ok, the build quality is terrible. After 1.5 years of home use only, everything that looks like leather on the headphone (headband and ear pads) have literally decomposed/decayed. I have to emphasise that I didn't do anything to them to get them to this state, they just fell apart. I hang them from a large hook under my table so they don't drag on the floor or on any surface.
I'm a bit wary of using them now as all the rips and tears in the faux-leather must be nice and cozy places for all sorts of bugs to get into, then into my ear...
I have asked the shop where I bought them from for after-sales service with no results. It's a good shop though - I have bought from them before - so their lack of enthusiasm is more to do with AKG no providing them with applicable solutions, I think.
I hear that AKG replacement pads are expensive, however why would I buy from them the same low-quality replacement pads again, even if they were cheap?
If I hadn't paid a decent amount of money for the headphones I would throw them in the bin and buy something better made, and that means NOT from AKG, probably BeyerDynamic.
As it stands, I can get some generic replacements ear pads from eBay or Amazon. As far as the ripped headband goes, there's nothing I can do about that. Way to go, AKG. Never again, bye bye AKG....eeek!.

AKG Y500 ear piece falling out

AKG Y500 ear piece came loose from the swivel mount. This was very random and of no fault of my own or physical damage, it just fell out. I emailed AKG for advice for repair and months later I have still not had a reply. Some form of communication would have been reassuring, whether helpful or not, but having had no reply it seems their customer service is none existent.

Faulty microphone and NO REFUND given

I purchased a condenser microphone, it arrived broken - multiple venues and sound techs have tried to get it to work but it is just faulty and doesn't switch on at all, tried on different instruments. Attempted to get a refund via email, phone lines for months - it never got to anywhere and no one who I spoke to on their side is able to help get this returned and refunded. Very unhappy with the service, product, and the fact that I am now out of pocket because of this. Highly unrecommended, avoid this company and their products.

Customer support non-existing

Customer support virtually non-existing. Submitted questions about a C555L headset in combination with their wireless transmitter on akg.com and never got any response.
You wonder why there are no solutions in their chat - wonder no more.
Would never again buy one of their products given there are companies out there that offer actual aftercare.

DONT... STAY AWAY!

I bought a Mic on akg.com 3 days later I went to see the tracking because it was supposed to get here fast... no order on my account on the site... zero order... then I chat with customer service, give them the order number... he didn't know anything and said that I had to wait for an email from other department with information... Hello! What is that...? Why Am I chatting with customer service then? Order status? He didn't have any idea... then I want to cancel... he can't process a cancellation... I have to wait for an email from other department... I will go to guitar center better and get a mic... That may be a better idea... I hope I don't have to open a dispute with my bank... lets see what happen but this is already enough! Huge Red Flag! They wont have my business ever Again!

Dreadful....truly dreadful

Appalling. The pair that came with the phone stopped working. Checked the phone connection and it was fine. Bought a new pair and surprise surprise they stopped working after about 3 months. Stupidly bought a third pair and once again after about 3 months they packed up again. Avoid avoid avoid. Thank goodness for buds and bluetooth. The AKG headphones tht Samsung supply for the S20+ are completely useless.

Criminal quality

I take really good care of all my stuff. All my stuff look brand new even after years of daily usage.

Their headphones, which wasn't cheap by the way, literally shred themselves apart. The fake leather tears up everywhere, the hinge design is absolutely terrible, loose, not designed properly, and just today, after only less than a year of buying the headset, the drivers starts to rattle when there's a little bit of bass.

This is what I call a milk company.
They had something good and now they're just sweating every drop of money before closing the door.
No care about the product here.

Fantastic sound cancelling AKG N60NC headphones

Best value for money noise cancelling headphones I have had. I also have a Bose set and these match them at a third of the price and are far superior to the Sony ones I have just sold on. Being wireless, they are easy to wear and blue tooth works well with a Galaxy tablet. Sound quality is tremendous and noise cancelling good. Only downside is that they slip off too easily if you wear them when working and bend forward. To my horror mine fell off into a paint tray of white emulsion, with some cleaning up they still work well.
Beware, when buying make sure you order the wireless version as there are older wired ones selling at cheaper prices. The wireless ones also have a cable to connect to tablet/phone jack if the phone's battery runs out.

AWFUL!

AWFUL!

I have lost the charging cable and case and want to buy a replacement. Nothing available on the website so I have been trying to contact them.

It's been over a month now and still no joy. Tweets, email, live chat, you name it - I've tried it.

I am trying to BUY SOMETHING FROM THEM!

God knows what they would be like if I actually had a problem!

Just buy Bose.

sound quality is the best

sound quality is the best. I can control the sound because of its equalizer. demerit is poor app on my iphone. sometime app doesn't recognize the connection with phone and headphone even while i am listening music with headphone through bluetooth.

Good Sound Quality

AKG is one of the decent brands you can trust will give high quality audio. The headphone style is quite large, so sits comfortably on your ears, and it's robust enough that I'm still using a pair I've owned for a few years.

'Tough luck' customer service

Headphones broke. AKG graciously replaced them under warranty. But the pair they sent me were faulty. Which, apparently, is just hard luck. Good headphones - horrendous customer service. Avoid.
