While Customer Service tried to be helpful, software was buggy and locked up often quiz given during voice verification. Locked with only option to pay again. Seems to be a scam
This company is in violation of several anti-trust laws-price penetration being one of them by offering one of the lowest prices amongst their competitors.
This company is a clear and evident scam that does NOT properly equip the consumer with any proper resources prior to forcing the consumer to answer mandatory quiz questions. Through this, they are fully aware that they are setting up the consumer for failure. Afterwards, they purposefully block the consumers account only to tell them that they only had 3 attempts to pass the quizzes and now must re-pay, re-register, and upgrade to another plan that provides you with unlimited attempts to pass the quizzes.
Additionally, another set up tactic is their faulty, extreme, excessive, and intrusive security questions set up with questions with well over 20 security questions. There is also no information on how they safeguard your biometric identity from outside intrusion or any information on how your voice will be stored for safekeeping.
There has been over 370 logged complaints with the Better Business Bureau within the last 12 months itself and over 541 complaints within the past 3 years. In addition to 449 negative star ratings on YELP, 54 negative reviews on Trustpilot & 51 complaints on Sitejabber along with other various complaints about their shady business practices.
Biggest scam. Website is constantly malfunctioning. You will need to log back in every 10 minutes with your voice or answer multiple “identity” questions within seconds. You will need to answer all test questions within seconds. When you’re almost done, you will be “blocked”, have your money stolen, and be told by “customer service” to reregister and pay the full fee again, so you have a chance to do the entire course once again, (with all the malfunctions, blocking, poor customer service, and another chance for your money to be stolen again, all included for free.) Please stay away from this company!!
I do not recommend this site. It's a waste of time.

Horrible. Agree with all the bad reviews. Started the drivers ed training and when answering quizzes, my daughter would have the correct answer selected and it would still count it wrong. Tried to contact the company, 2.5 hours on hold with no answer. Emails and live chat went nowhere. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

When I signed up for the course with ASC, I thought those bizzare and numerous questions were part of a survey or data gathering to sell to another party. Since I have been the victim of internet scams, I chose the first response to each question. ASC ****never**** informed that those weird questions were the ONLY method to verify my identity.
As many others have written, was duped by this company! I was at the end of Module 2 about 2.25 hours into the course when those bizarre questions popped up. I failed so I was locked out.
ASC had valuable PII personal identifiable information about me including a recording of my voice to identify me by. When I submitted a complaint in the ASC Chat Box, the customer service rep, Hazel, did not help at all. She instructed me to pay them again and retake the class. The audacity. Why bother having a CHAT box if all the reps do is try to rope you in again? Why would I give a company that is so incompentent and verifying its customers a second chance and $25? Wasted 2.25 hours of my day for nothing. Fool me once shame on you. Nah!

Similar to others got completely scammed by them. They bombard you with questions to verify your security and if you get one wrong they lock you out and claim they can't unblock you. Stupidest thing I've heard. Its 2023 you don't know how to unblock your own customers once you verified them?????
ZERO sTAR. STOLE MY MONEY. Got to Module 8. THE END and they gave 40 secs to respond to security questions. Then BLOCKED me. Tried to get unblocked thru CHAT. No one would give me an 800# to call customer service. RIP OFF. Why does DMV list them?! I am escalating
total scam I did a lot answered a lot right I sign back in a week later they ask 3 stupid questions I got them wrong did not read to get prepared now they say course blocked I failed 3 questions some one is gonna refund me poop scammers
They lock me out for failed to answer security question. There are nearly twenty security questions!!! How the hell am I supposed to remember all of those answers???? I can understand if I got lock out because I failed to answer quiz in course. But not the security question. This is a total scam. They just want you to pay for the course again and again.
I attended a course to acquire OSHA certification. However, in the period in which the delivery should have taken place, I was no longer in the States and I asked if it was possible to have the certificate itself delivered to some of my colleagues still present in the States. I was told they couldn't do it, they couldn't ship it to Italy, even at my expense. In short, I paid to have this certificate and I can't get it. Shameful.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME AND MONEY!!!! I wish I had read these reviews before wasting my money and time on this course. The website IS NOT user friendly. The videos lag and skip around, and I feel like this is done on purpose. If you don’t answer the questions in a timely manner, you fail the question. Three fails and you are locked out and have to reregister and PAY AGAIN. It’s impossible to answer correctly and in a timely manner when the website doesn’t load properly. The course screen is tiny and impossible to read. There is so much wasted space on the screen and the course screen could be much bigger. Some of the sections are 45 minutes or longer. God forbid you have to pause for more than a few minutes because then you have to go back and start from the very beginning. I am very disappointed in this course and WOULD NOT RECOMMEND it to anyone!!!
Extremely poor customer service. Do not take your defensive driving course with this company. Trust me, you will loose your money.

I am not one of their employees putting up a good review. I am very satisfied with these guys..I sat though my course, answered all the questions with no prob.
After I passed each one of the sections it gave me the final exam. Passed with 90. It gave me the option to print out my cert. Downloaded the certificate and printed it out. I did not see where it stated they would send my cert to me. But in all I gave them 5, make sure that you had the option to print or download the cert.

Waste of money. They lock you out of account when you fail quizzes and you have to re register. When I asked for a refund I was denied!
DO NOT USE this company!!!!!! They DO NOT respond to any calls, chats or anything. My daughter took the online course and then driver's portion elsewhere. This company would not respond for the transfer certificate and now she has to start all over again. Horrible, fraudulent company.
I paid $25 and started taking the 6 hour course with NY Safety Council. Almost halfway through (about 2 hours in), when answering the quiz question (you must answer 1 of 3 correctly), I answered the first 2 incorrectly and before I could answer the third, the screen showed that I had incorrectly answered it and locked me out of the course. It took 45 minutes for the Chat person to respond, and then another 4-5 minutes between each response. Finally was told that I had to re-register...period. When I tried to clarify about repayment and ask about the problem with the 3rd question for which I was improperly shut out, there was no response. After 10 minutes I left the website without any recourse but to pay another $25 to retake the entire course. I went to another site, IDriveSafely.com. Took the course without a glitch. Seems like I am joining many others in warning about this site. Wish I had read the reviews before signing up with this awful company.
I took the Defensive Driving course in 2020 with no problems. I enrolled again in February 2023 anticipating the same service. My experience did not go well and I spent multiple frustrating hours waiting for Customer Service chat to respond. First issue was I was locked out of course due to voice authentication, second issue: after the final quiz, the program kept spooling back to the quiz review. Although it said I had completed the course, it did not send me to the completion screen with my certificate.
I attempted to contact them via Chat (waste of time), then email (they only responded when I resolved to refute their charges on my credit card) and finally, mailed them a letter via USPS to their Florida office, again mentioning I would dispute their charge.
Their course is excellent, their customer service is abysmal. I hope the American Safety Council will correct this problem ASAP. When 2026 comes around, I'd like to take their course again, but will check these reviews prior to enrolling.
