David Anderson was highly recommended to me by my local optician. After a thorough eye examination and discussion during my initial consultation, I went ahead with lens replacement surgery nearly three weeks ago. Both eyes were done on the same day with Zeiss trifocal toric lenses. The operation and recovery has been totally pain free and I am truly delighted with the end result. After around 35 years of wearing contact lenses or glasses for being very short sighted, with astigmatism, plus needing reading glasses over my contact lenses for the last few years, I'm now glasses and contact lens free and can see excellently without - 20/20 vision confirmed at my post-op eye test. This includes reading books, labels in shops, mobile phone, and computer screens. I only struggle a little with small print in poor lighting, but that's better than I dared hope for. I do have halos around car and street lights whilst driving or walking in the dark, but that's manageable for me personally and totally as expected at this stage (checked this with Mr Anderson during my post-op check up a couple of days ago and he's confident that this will gradually diminish over the next 6 months or so). Don't fear this operation, the end result is totally worth it!!

David Anderson is focused and professional. He exudes calm and complete confidence in what he is doing. Just what you need from any consultant and especially one who has your vision in his hands. He did my replacement lens procedure in 2020 and has now cleared up cells on the back of my new lens that were impairing my vision in an under 10 minute consultation using a YAG laser. My vision is greatly enhanced. He was recommended by my optician and she knows her stuff! Delighted to know he’s there and thank you to all his wonderful team too.

I was diagnosed with Keratoconus in 2016 and have been under Mr Anderson’s care since then. Due to family history of eye conditions, i was extremely worried about the diagnosis. Mr Anderson was very helpful in reassuring me and explaining the available treatment options in great detail. I underwent cross linking procedure with Mr Anderson and that was the best decision I ever made. Mr Anderson and his team was very supportive throughout the whole process. Since the procedure, I have been seeing Mr Anderson yearly and he is always very understanding, takes time to listen to my worries and concerns and explains everything in a very calm manner.

I have complete faith in David Anderson. A few years ago I had reflexive lens exchange, this was absolutely brilliant as I could dispense of distance and reading glasses.
Recently I developed a membrane over one of my eye lens which eventually caused complete blurring of the eye. This is apparently called a YAG ( sometimes named a secondary cataract)
The laser procedure I had with David Anderson was amazing. It was quick and thorough and no pain at all. I cannot recommend Mr Anderson enough.

My first consultation with Mr Anderson to consider bilateral refractive cataract surgery with trifocal lens implants took place in June 2022 at Nuffield Health Wessex Hospital. I had travelled a fair distance to see Mr. Anderson as research had determined that he was ‘the best in the business’. I left my consultation feeling fully informed and confident about the treatment I was considering.
On the day of my surgery in November 2022 I was welcomed and put very much at ease by the lovely nursing staff and visited by Dr Ben Skinner, the anaesthetist and Mr Anderson who fully explained what was going to happen. I was lightly sedated and found the whole experience very comfortable. I left wearing an eye shield and supplied with enough eye drops for the following month. The next morning my husband was astounded by how I was able to programme google maps for our journey home without the need for glasses! When I revisited Mr Anderson for my follow up appointment in December I thanked him for giving me the gift of sight. I have since had an appointment with my home optician as she wanted to check my progress and she was amazed at the results she found.
My whole experience has been so positive and I would like to thank Mr. Anderson and his staff for the wonderful care they gave me.

Mr David Anderson lived up to all expectations and more. He advised that I should have a general anaesthetic for my cataract ops. It was the absolute best thing for me and i recommend it, if you are at all nervous, like I was. It takes all the fear away. It was all a great success.

Mr Anderson is a personification of professionalism, not only heavily invested in his specialist craft but also keenly interested in patient progess. To have my eyesight restored to perfection is miraculous. Thank you so very much for an excellent service from outset to outcome, ably supported by all at the Clinic.

The whole process from start to finish was very smooth and straightforward. I would highly recommend laser eye surgery with Mr Anderson. He was very patient in answering my questions at the initial consultation and I ultimately opted for SMILE treatment. The day of the procedure was very easy. I was in the theatre for no more than half an hour. By the evening of surgery my vision was extraordinarily improved. The drop regime is quite busy for a few days but this is no big deal. Recovery has been very straightforward; I was worried about dry eyes but this was only an issue for a couple of months really - exactly as I had been advised beforehand.

Excellent outcome from the procedure. The surgeon and team are extremely competent, knowledgeable and empathic. My only regret is that I didn’t have the operation years ago!

I was anxious when I was told that I needed cataracts sorted out in both eyes, but felt reassured having spoken to two friends - both ophthalmic surgeons - who guided me towards David Anderson.

They did so partly because they knew him well professionally, and also because he has expertise in correcting astigmatism when doing replacement lens surgery - a problem I have had since birth.

I liked him from the moment I met him. My initial appointment with him and his team was very thorough, and conducted throughout in a calm, pleasant and highly professional manner.

Following the initial assessment, he explained my options really thoroughly. At no point did I feel rushed, and he took the time to answer all my questions well.

I accepted his suggestion that it was possible to do both eyes on the same day, and I am delighted that I did so, as it shortened the entire recovery process by two weeks.

I am absolutely delighted with the result of his work on me.

What a transformation! Colour perception and visual acuity dramatically improved, with the least possible amount fuss. I now see better than I ever have in my life before, and apparently have vision that puts me in the top 1-2% of the population - 20/12, or -0.2logMAR, if that helps!

David completed the whole thing from beginning to end with a total lack of drama. There was no discomfort during the procedure itself - either physical or mental - and I had the feeling throughout of being in the hands of a calm, confident and caring professional getting on with his job in the most competent manner possible. In addition, his staff were thoroughly delightful and supportive throughout.

So, if you have to have it done, I can’t think of a better person or team in which to put your trust.

I do not recommend this clinic because it appears to be overbooked/oversubscribed.

I have glaucoma as well as Cataracts and failing eye site as a result. David and his team have returned me to such good vision I have not only binned my glasses but also started training as part of the coastal watch team. I am squeamish when it comes to surgery and eyes particularly so, the procedure was really nothing to stress over. My meds have all been reviewed as well. Very thorough, very kindly delivered. Total recommend.

As a very anxious client needing cataract surgery in both eyes I felt in safe and experienced hands. During my consultation we discussed lifestyle and work and Mr Anderson advised on the best lenses for me. When he mentioned that I could have both eyes done in one go under general anaesthetic I jumped at the chance. I don’t remember a thing, which was exactly how I wanted/needed it to be and my new eyes are great. Would highly recommend.

I had worn glasses for many years and then with compulsory mask wearing for my work, and the frustration of being steamed up, I tried (and hated) contact lenses. I went for an initial free scan to see if my eyes were suitable for laser surgery. Mr Anderson then did a thorough in-depth assessment of my vision. I was suitable for LASIK Presbyond surgery to both eyes. At all times I was given plenty of information both verbal and online to refer to so I knew exactly what to expect.

I had my laser surgery on 1st October. All of the staff were kind and helpful and the procedure itself was comfortable and only took a few minutes. After the procedure when the anaesthetic drops had worn off it was as if I had peeled a hundred onions, but the nurse put in more drops which were immediately helpful. I followed all instructions to go home and rest for three hours and was pleasantly surprised at how little discomfort I felt. I slept all night and woke able to see without glasses! I took a few days off work which enabled me to take all the eye drops as prescribed which I’m sure is vital to healing.

I have had two follow up appointments and have continued to be delighted with the results of the surgery. I can highly recommend Mr Anderson and his team.

From consultation to operation Mr Anderson helped me through this procedure as I get very anxious. Mr Anderson explained what was going to happen whilst keeping me reassured. All options were offered and I decided to have a double bi-lateral operation. Best decision I made, it was all over in one go. The staff and nurses were terrific and made me feel comfortable. I had my post operation follow up and Mr Anderson said I have exceeded expectations. I am still marvelling over my sight. It has changed my life. I cannot recommend Mr Anderson enough. 5 Stars are not enough.

Mr Anderson has simply changed my whole quality of life with the recent cataract operation procedure performed. All my concerns, including anaesthetic, have been discussed in great detail and piece of mind given. The follow up to the procedure has also been first class!! My sight was very poor due to cataracts in both eyes with the added complication of AMD also in one eye.
Having had Cataract Bi-lateral surgery the improvement has been amazing due to the skill and expertise of Mr. D. Anderson and his team. The whole procedure from initial consultation, surgery and the follow up appointment was stress free due to the calm and reassuring nature of David Anderson. When I went to the opticians for new reading glasses, even the optician was totally amazed at the huge improvement in my sight. I cannot praise highly enough the skill of David Anderson and would have no hesitation in recommending him, I could not have been in safer hands.

Mr Anderson explained the operation fully during my initial consultation. As a result there were no surprises and both procedures that were carried out as explained on 17 and 24 June
I had full confidence in him.

The only negative was lack of follow-up - request for a call to discuss were not followed up
